This is a horrible place to be a patient, and if you're thinking of sending a loved one there,think again. i was a patient,and it wasn't until I left that I found out how non qualified the staff were. The "administrator" that I had to beg for my pain meds is an LPN...not even an RN. A few staff were ok, but the majority are foreign born who can't even speak English.. The food is nasty, and such small amounts I was not satisfied at all.Therapy is a joke. When I was discharged, nurse told me he called or faxed over my medications to my pharmacy. When I called them the next day, only 1 was called in. I had to go to my regular doctor to get these meds filled. The overnight shift is a nightmare. I had sleeping pills to help me sleep, but in chatting with other ladies in the hallway, I learned their incontinent beds were left all night and only changed in the morning before the day shift came in. Seriously, I don't see how this place keeps its license. It should be shut down. read more

My father spent the last week of his life here on hospice. I highly recommend CC at Laurelton. The staff, in just one weeks time, became our family. Everyone----from the Director, to the Social Worker, the nursing staff and aides provided exceptional, prompt care to my father and personal emotional support to our family during what was a very sad time for our family. Very UNDERSTAFFED, therefore your loved one could wait an hour to have their diaper changed. Sitting in urine & feces is not only unhealthy, but it's disgusting. If a patient asks a staff member for anything, they say they will be back soon to help, never to return. It's heartbreaking. read more

They are awful people, awful staff unprofessional, and just nasty unprofessional acting my mom went there a month ago she was sent from the hospital. They sent her home in two weeks. It was supposed to be rehab. They told her to go home. I told her she can't come home because she's gonna get sick. what happens they said her home against my will and she's hospitalized now and now she's in worst condition than she was before she went there so if you want to keep your loved ones safe do not bring them to this hell hole. not fit for animals let alone people. read more

My Mother has been at Lauerlton Village for 19 days since being released from Brick hospital and the care in both places leaves alot to be desired. Staff cuts have made both places a nightmare at night. My family is with her as much as we can be and the worst is when she has to go to the bathroom and sometimes takes an hour for someone to help. She is 94 years old and broke 2 ribs and great care has to be given ! Medicine accountability is not given on sheets like the hospital, and you have to check repeatedly that her meds are given properly. There should be a printout! Shout out to the good people, Chris, a manager who answers questions patiently, Matthew, a LPN, and Elisha and Jill, physical therapists. My husband is left by a nurse for 45 minute's or longer when he wants something such as another pillow, a cup with ice in it, what happened to his pain medication and his light has been on for 20 minute's or more. They do seem very understaffed here because the Nurse doesn't come back fast enough to help out the patient. The therapist isn't very nice either. He pushes the patient into doing what he wants done in one hour and the visitor doesn't see the patient walking around. That isn't fair at all. read more

I'm not really sure where to start, I guess I'll start at the entrance of the hallway that leads to the rooms. Once you walk in there's a distinct smell of something I can't even explain at first than it came to me... dirty carpet, the halls are all carpet and they can't be clean ! Picture a hospital with carpet in the hallways and rooms, there's no such thing! , extremely unsanitary. Our dad ( 80 years old )was released from Beth Israel hospital after an emergency quadruple bypass but still had the trachea and needed a breathing treatment machine. He needed heavy rehabilitation and this place was not it! One day he went in to distress and it took 15 min to find anyone at all . The place at night was vacant most of the times except for some patients wandering the halls. ( grossly understaffed). After a week we had to beg them to clean the room and when someone finally came in , she had a fucking attitude like I asked her for a kidney. It was clear that one of us had to stay overnight, we took shifts to make sure he had a 24/7 watch over him . One day he went was having trouble breathing so again we look for a nurse, no nurse to be found! Finally we found one who was outside smoking a cigarette and told her we need help, she proceeds to smoke that cigarette..... She comes in and puts oxygen over his face but a minor detail was overlooked, he was breathing via a trachea, they might as well have put the oxygen up his ass ! WE called 911 and had an ambulance remove him and bring him to brick hospital ( excellent hospital by the way ) and he had some respitory infection from the dirty shit they put in his dirty breathing tube. We watched them drop the tube on the floor and than proceed to connect with out cleaning , this was an ongoing issue. When we bring this unsanitary method up to the and they looked at us like it's not our business and disregard anything we thought was not good. After getting him out of that shit hole and got him straightened out at Brick Hospital we transferred him to Tall Woods in Bayville NJ. This place was a dream come true. Every single person on the staff was beyond excellent, there's not enough words to explain. This place was spotless and hospital grade clean. If we didn't get him out of laurelton village he would be dead, it's that simple. It was 8 days of horror. Tall Woods was a pleasure. We knew after 2 days that we can leave at 6 pm and know he's in fantastic hands . Our dad is home and better than he's been in 15 years and packing his stuff for his Florida trip... and I thank a doctor at community hospital who virtually begged our mom to let him take him to the Cath lab for a scope because he didn't like a blood reading. He immediately sent him to Beth Israel because he was clogged everywhere. We thank Beth Israel and from what we hear , the best cardiology ward on the east coast. We thank Brick hospital for fixing the mess that Laurelton village and the uneducated uncaring dirty facility and staff created. Avoid this place by all means !!! ,do your homework because this may be the worst place but there's 30 others in ocean county that's not as bad but bad enough to try and avoid read more

This place is in dire need of workers with a heart during the night shift especially. My mom just left there after a 10 day stay. She stayed in her room except for PT due to Covid. She was content in the front area except they kept forgetting her meds prior to meals. One worker told my mom when she asked about meds prior "then don't eat". Attitude? Frustration? I don't know bc my family members couldn't be there constantly. Unfortunately Mom contracted Covid while there. Her first night in the rear part for those infected was her last. She had her wheelchair and walker kept out of her reach. She rang for help over an hour having to use the bathroom. Finally she contacted my sister who called Nurse's Station. Then Mom got help. Again she recieved her breakfast without her meds prior. This while battling Covid? We brought her home. She was only there for PT. If your loved one is there or at any facility, go there. Make them know they have family that cares or they get forgotten. read more

I normally am not one to leave reviews, but I have to say my experience with this facility was poor. The facility is now called complete care at laurelton and part of the building is renovated. I am not sure the extent due to Covid was never allowed inside. My issue is with the awful communication of the facility which during a time when we are not allowed in the building is at ut most importance especially because my family member could barley talk , could not use their extremities to use the phone. We were forced to find a place for them quickly as the insurance stopped covering at the acute facility she was in prior (which that facility was amazing). Complete care only communicated if I called them and at times it felt like it was a bother to even answer my questions or they just never called me back. I even left messages for the director of nursing who failed to fall Me back. There were a few nurses who were amazing, but they were definitely the minority. If I could go into the facility or speak to my family member my self I would , but unfortunately that was not an option. The director of admission was extremely nice and very prompt to answer back. I understand the nurses are busy and I am sure it is understaffed, but I still expect a call back, one week it took 4 calls to get a call Back and this was after them calling to tell me my family member has Covid, I was not upset about the Covid but when I call to check on them I expect an answer regarding their status. Unfortunately, they passed away in the short stay at the facility , and as in the past it took them about 2 hours to call me to tell me they had passed. I would not recommend this facility to anyone. read more

This place is a nightmare. It is dirty and in very poor repair . The entire six weeks my husband was there, there was not a functioning ice machine on the floor. Meals are terrible. My husband lost forty pounds while there. They are so understaffed that the older patients are warehoused in wheelchairs around the nurses' station staring at nothing and begging passers-by for help If all of that isn't bad enough, the attention to patients is so lacking, they are put in real danger. It is difficult to find staff members all the time and impossible at night. My husband was there for rehabilitation, but the rehab was a joke. There was no schedule, sessions were skipped for a multitude of reasons, and the actual rehab given was inadequate . My husband had previously attended another rehab center(Kessler in Chester) and the difference was night and day. That was a caring, professional center that truly helped him. Laurelton was a warehouse that left him worse than when he started there. If you care about your loved one don't let them end up in this house of horrors . read more

This place is a NIGHTMARE!!! My husband was on oxygen and sent on a transport for an oncology appointment with an empty oxygen tank. When confronted about it they denied it and blamed the transport company, which I know was untrue. They also said they would investigate and get back to me and they never did which to me indicates that they found out that they were at fault!!! STAY CLEAR OF THIS FACILITY!!!! read more

It is extremely difficult when you can no longer care for a loved one at home. I have had other experiences at other facilities with other loved ones. However, the level of care and compassion that Laurelton and its staff have shown my loved one cannot be measured. horrible. stay clear if you can. minimal attention given to residents. nurse left a patient in a wheelchair with a back brace on for three hours to get him ready for physical therapy but then completely forgot about him. patient never made it to therapy, and having the brace on for so long resulted in bruises all along his stomach. sub par facility, awful service, horrible food and understaffed and should be under anyone's standards. read more

I understand now why Laurelton is rated only one star by Medicare as opposed to most in the area that are rated five stars. After one day I was trying desperately to get her out of there and it only got worse after day one. Nurse was giving injections without swabbing/cleaning area first or afterwards and she was bleeding all over her clothes each time. Day two she started getting very painful stomach pains with watery stool. They did not manage her pain so she was in constant terrible pain. They did not test the stool for two days despite saying they would. She got a terrible bleeding rash on third day that was not treated until I asked for something, which even then was not administered properly or at all. Finally I was able to get her back to hospital. She came to hospital dehydrated, with untreated UTI (which apparently they had found but didn't treat her) and the infection C-Diff which is very contagious and a terrible intestinal infection. The nurses also would lie to me saying she didn't have watery stool and that she ate when the CNAs would contradict and tell me differently. They apparently also never told the hospital Administrator anything as anything I would tell her she would ask for a lot of details and names of nurses etc. I think they are protecting their jobs. Also, there was little to no outside activity with patients so they lingered in their rooms throughout the day, unless they had a problem with them and then they would sit them by their desk to watch them. One day a patient was yelling for help for several minutes and I finally got up when the yelling didn't stop. When I got in the room the patient said the other patient couldn't breathe and I could hear her wheezing. I asked someone to get the nurse and finally she came up the hallway mumbling that the patient isn't ready for her breathing treatment for an hour. Really!! What good is it if she's dead by then. Same bad nurse as indicated earlier. If you care about your relative - do not admit them there. It is very hard to move once they are admitted. It took a lot of calls to her oncologist and surgeon and I had to pay over 400 for the ambulance. read more
