Recently I call to get information, response time to each question is like 5 seconds... HELLO!? I Just replaced an electric bike tire, again $200. They don't hook up the electrical, have to take it back. They complain about the parts and say they are cheap, they always cry because you didn't buy it there. I am 5'7.5", so I'm bending over and causing my lower back to hurt. So we walked into the shop where the owner, I guess, was assisting a customer. He didn't even look our way to acknowledge us or greet us. At that point I was done. But my husband wanted to get me a new bike, so we stayed. The guy walked his current customer to the door. Turned around with his hands on his hips and looked at us like we were trash. Very rudely, he asked, "Can I help you?" as if we were bothering him. We asked about seeing a 27-inch bike, and he gave us such a nasty attitude instead of him explaining the different types of bikes and how after 26 inches the bikes are measured by tire width. He and my husband went back and forth about the difference. He was argumentative, mean, and nasty in the way he spoke with us. So my husband asked, "Can my wife try the next size after 26?" He very reluctantly pulled a bike from the rack for me to try the sizing. The entire experience was horrible. This man obviously had a problem with black people; hate was all over him. He couldn't wait for us to leave his shop.

SO....after picking a bike up at a Big box store, I customized it and took the Bike shaped object…read moreto the Local Bike Shoppe in the hopes of getting them to Fit the bike to me like I thought was their Forte along with checking my work on the Fenders and Rack...well after 3 days in the shop I came in and told one of the Mechanics that I was here to pick up my bike. He rolled it out and to the register we went where he ran my card and said thank you and another Gentleman opened the door...I never asked a question other than how is the bike and the Mechanic said "He Did not work on it". Now I may be off base here but I took my bike to a shop and when I came home I find that the Rear wheel is only hand Tightened on Both sides...the bike is still dirt and here where fresh grease smudges on parts of the frame. I asked them to take off a computer bracket and replace the Zip ties for screws on the Front fenders...I also asked them to True the wheels as I am not skilled enough to attempt that.....I fully admit that taking the Rear wheel off was an experience for me as I scratched the drive side bolt pretty Good....I was checking the bike over when I got home and found that the nut was still beat up and decided to check it and it was LOOSE....so I grab a wrench and attempt to fix it myself....Well I tighten one side and the darn thing will not turn...I loosen that and try the other side....same result...How am I to ride this?....when I pay money for a check of work I expect a GOOD job an at least an attempt to see if the all is Kosher....now I have a bike that looks alright but I am scared to ride it outside of a few blocks.... At the end of the day I cannot recommend this place even though I have seen it all the years of my life and to put out the door with a swipe of a card and no mention of who they are or an attempt at selling me anything is something I will not tolerate and think that they may be on the way of other businesses where easy money makes LAZY people....So keep my $50 dollars and know that I will write this again and again until I have no other places to. Be it for your benefit or not I will be heard....

I found RLB cycleworks and picked them because of small size, local, and high reviews. I was presently surprised when greated by Taro. Super friendly and knowledgeable. I was afraid that my bike would need to be recycled. He assured me it was worth saving. Since not really riding for a few years, it was in bad shape. He said it was one of the American made trek bikes. Got an accurate estimate and took about 5 days to replace the broken part, get new tires, and a tune-up. Like having a brand new bike.

Dood has a right to be into his subject matter. Usually shops want you to feel comfortable and respected as somewhat of a priority, even if you aren't being directly pitched at the moment... it just was not a good vibe. All doods working there when I was in. Way heavy on the dood vibe. Captive audience syndrome. Sigh. Dood has to do what a dood does. I avoid places like this.
