As other have said, if I could rate this company and their owner 0 stars, I would. I will keep this brief. The owner Mike Williamson, Sr (who I have never met and now works somewhere else) has turned this business over to his 22 year old son, Mike Williamson, Jr. I met with the son almost 3 months ago. The company that referred Competitive Glass to me, told me they had decent experience with the father (owner) and be ware "the son is pretty flakey"...that turns out to be the understatement of the decade. It is my understanding the son is in the process of taking over this business...watch out!!!! Over the course of the next 75+ days, I had to constantly follow up with him only to get a different excuse each time. He lied about my order multiple times. Each communication he had a different story or excuse. Finally I scheduled a glass installation with him last Friday 3/15/24 in Lake Wylie. He was supposed to show up at 8:00A. At 7:30A I contacted him to confirm this appointment only then did he tell me he could not arrive until 9-10. The bottom line, I waited for him until after 11:00a. at that point I fired him. Now he constantly threatens me that he is going to put a lien on my property to pay for the materials that he never showed up to install. If that is the time of experience/risk you desire to take, Competitive Glass might be a good choice. Mike Jr is on the way to run this business into the ground. I wished I would have gone with ANY other firm and now have another professional company lined up to do my doors. I (nor you) should have to experience his total lack of customer service. read more

As other have said, If I could I would rate Competitive Glass in Clover, SC ZERO stars, I would. I worked with the owner of CG, Mike Williamson, Jr. He is nice enough. However, while I waited and waited for my glass for over 2.5 months, I had to constantly prompt him and he was always slow responding. During that process he lied about that he had my glass. The Co that referred this firm to me and removed him from their "referred providers" because of my experience and others. During the long wait, Mike's story and excuseS continued to evolve. I finally tracked him down and after multiple text messages got him to commit to an install day and time, 8-9A on 3/15/24. On that day, based on my eroding confidence in his lack of professionalism, I texted him to confirm the appointment. He responded that it would be at my house between 9-10 which is 1-2 hours later than he had promised, but it gets better...because he failed, yet again, to have my glass?!?!? I decided to give him a 2nd (probably 10th pass). Well, guess what...he did not show up at 9:00, 10:0) (2 hours late), 10:30 (2.5 hours late) 11:00 (3 hours late). So I FIRED HIM. Now this finally got his attention and he could all of a sudden call me back...but it was too late. But the icing on the cake is that even though he lied AND he did not show up, AND he did not complete the job...all pretty important, don't you think? he is constantly badgering me by text message that he is going to file a "lean" (his words. Get the picture??) on my property. This young man is in way over his head and is on the way of running this business that his father (Mike Williamson, Sr) built. Try to find many reviews, you cannot. My humble opinion, I wished that I had not wasted 3 months of time waiting for this irresponsible, non-reliable company/owner's kid. we needed six windows in our home. We had multiple quotes from different glass companies. Competitive glass was the best way to go! We had Mike, was very friendly, honest, and the quality of his work was amazing! We would definetly recommend to other friends and family. What a gold mine to find! read more

I do not recommend this company. When a technician came for an estimate I asked to provide a quote for a new frame with a glass as the glass was broken on a window and another glass was already installed. But I did not like the way it was installed. So I asked for a new part (frame with a glass). The company sent me an estimate, I agreed with a quote, made an order. I waited several weeks for my order to be complete. After 2 weeks nobody called me, I reached the company by myself, the company realized that they did not request a deposit from me, thus did not order my parts. Nobody told me about the deposit before. When I paid the deposit, they finally ordered my parts. When technician came to install the part I realized that he used my old frame and just installed new glass into it. That was not what I ordered. I already had another glass installed. What is the point of changing one glass for another glass. The technician told that it was their fault of misleading me and they are going to order a new part, i will have to pay the difference in price. I agreed with that. When I reached the company and asked for a price for a new part they told me to find another company. Please avoid this scammers! read more

Horrible experience. We were told it would cost $2000 to remove some mirrors from three walls in a room in our new house. The owner told us the reason for the high cost is because it is very hard labor and would take the entire day. He lied. It took an hour. The mirrors popped right off the walls with no issues. He still insisted on charging $2000. We only agreed to that price because he said over and over again that it would take a long time and would be a very hard job. No way we would have agreed to that price for a ONE HOUR job. Either he intentionally lied to us or he is inexperienced and doesn't know much about the glass business. We had to call him to come back and at least remove the brackets from the walls. That took 30 minutes. And we are responsible for disposal. He should have adjusted the price, but instead got really defensive and unkind. read more
