We didn't expect my mom to die, yet they admitted her without a second thought, focusing primarily on stabilizing her with the right pain medications to quell her intense pain. Unfortunately her injuries were insurmountable, so she died in their care. Through all the hospital and doctor visits, I never felt any compassion or empathy coming from the staff. Friends of Caroline gave us the team support and comfort we craved. The organization's annual butterfly release to honor the patients who died was a remarkable event, that filled your heart with joy. We will be forever grateful.

It has living room, family room and dining room areas; chapel; a snack room; and rooms equipped to keep visitors comfortable. All the staff--from the volunteers to the staff to the nurses--were incredibly nice and accommodating. We had one nurse during the day, Elizabeth, that was very sweet and was with us from beginning to end. The room was spacious and cozy. I can't believe how nice this place was. It looked like a large bedroom, not a hospital room. The room was painted light blue, with a blue trim. It had a built in entertainment center with a tv, flowers and other decor, a built-in bench in a bay window large enough for you to sleep on, and three cozy chairs. They really try to make it as homey as possible. It's a non-profit organization and they accept donations via their website. There were various memorials throughout the home (i.e. plaques for donations towards a room or item in a room). We would definitely like to make a donation soon due to the exceptional care my mother-in-law received. I'm very grateful places like this exist, and I hope the Ogeechee Area Hospice stays open for a very long time. Thank you so much for making the process easier.

They have solved 5 medical issues I had. Twice I was out of town and Dr. Binamira did a video telemedicine call with me to look at my issue and order the proper medications at a local pharmacy. I truly cannot say enough good things about the service, support and check backs with me to make sure things were improving. Also, Dr. Binamira does not charge a ridiculous sum that many of the Family Practice Doctors on Hilton Head Island charge for so called concierge service. The annual concierge fee from these other doctors can be $1,500 or more per year per person at the beginning of the year just for the ability to call these doctors for care. Of course these concierge doctors also find a way to charge insurance companies and Medicare for their services too. There are laws against this kind of predatory medical pricing but somehow they are not being enforced. In conclusion, Dr. Binamira provides great service without upfront fees. I live on a very small budget and would not have knowingly agreed to auto drafting anything as now I cannot pay the deposit for my new place and they have refused to return the 2nd copay that I truly think I shouldn't have been charged for as they didn't have the equipment needed functional on the first visit. So here I sit, waiting another 2 weeks basically pondering homelessness because they set up an auto draft and set up a scenario for double billing me. Be wary all!
