Over the years we were having issues with woodpeckers making nests in our cedar siding. It was manageable when we first moved into the house but became unbearable and unsightly to see. We also had a migration of bats nesting in our gable vents over the years and needed to address this issue as well. We were looking for someone to mitigate the woodpecker issue and repair the damage that was done. We were lucky to come across Compassionate Wildlife Removal for this work. Lawrence did a great job explaining to us the approach and effectiveness of his methods and took great care to do the work right the first time. Highly recommend Lawrence, Compassionate Wildlife Removal. He is wonderful to work with, is obviously dedicated to his work and knowledgeable about what he does and takes the time to listen and explain and point things out--both good and bad. I initially phoned him to request a free estimate for removal of a raccoon family of 4 (mother and 3 cubs) that was residing under my deck, right off my back door. I just happened to notice them come out from under the deck one evening around dusk. I was stunned and observed them at least 3 add'l nights. And, saw them return to their "home" one morning before sunrise. Lawrence came by within just a few days to do the estimate. Although it was free, he spent well over an hour looking at my deck and explaining how he would "exclude" it. I also asked that he look underneath my shed, as animals have been observed there through the years. He (and I) observed loose crawl space vent screens that needed securing. He said mice could get into the crawl space through those loose vents and holes. I also asked him to replace the screens in the attic gable vents, as I did not want bats, etc getting into the attic. He said he would write up an estimate that I could pick and choose which items to repair. It turns out his estimate was very reasonable (much more so than a friend paid another company to have just her chimney cleared of raccoons). I wanted it all done; wanted to exclude all wildlife from my deck, shed, crawl space, and attic. He worked long hard days during the extreme heat alert, and was very efficient with his time. It was easy to follow his progress. It turns out that he even installs a gutter guard, that I needed on one gutter on the back of my shed. He gave me an estimate (very reasonable for the guard and installation), and I told him to add it to the previous estimate. He did all of this work for a very reasonable price and in a relatively short amount of time. He reminded me that his work is guaranteed for 2 years and to just call him if I need anything. Before my job was even completed, neighbors and friends had noticed his truck in my driveway and asked about him. I raved about his work and gave them his business card. One neighbor had him come by to do an estimate when he had finished my job. I don't think you could find a better, more conscientious and honest person for this work. He pointed out that he does preventive fixes--you don't have to wait for wildlife to enter your structure and possibly do damage before you call him.
