Avoid this woman (Deb Wilke) at all costs. She is the last person you should seek for any kind of…read moremental health counseling as she is not all there herself. She is a very petty person and has childish sayings retorts...her favorite always being the ball is in your court. She teaches no coping skills. And she is extremely condescending. She tries to create problems that don't exist; you know the type...you must have been molested as a child even though you know you weren't, say you weren't over and over again and yet she continues to want to bring it up. I am an open book and have admitted to a lot of dark things so I would have no problem admitting that if it had been true. She likes to reach for things that aren't there. She works (well at the time I was with her) with a psychiatrist that is just as unprofessional as she is. They are like 2 peas in a pod. I only ever had to miss appointments same day twice; once as a result of being sick and once do to mandatory overtime at work. It was not 24 hours before hand but I did call asap. I understood she could not bill my insurance and that I had to pay. I made the payments via paypal out of my next paycheck but for the next several weeks she still went on and on about it. She acted as if I had just no called no showed because I just didn't want to come and then didn't pay. She would often pop some type of medication in front of me, not sure what but what ever it was it would cause her to become drowsy. And she would often close her eyes like she was having a hard time staying awake. After I had informed her I would no longer be seeing her she engaged me in a text conversation. I could tell she was baiting me into exploding on her or "going off". I showed this to my new psychiatrist as well as my new counselor and they agreed that she was baiting me. They both have said they know of Deb Wilke and have said they are glad that I am not under her care anymore. They have had other patients come to them from her complaining of similar issues and other professionals agree that she is not a good counselor.
