Believe it or not, they even gave us a schedule which they stuck to the entire time! Our friends say that this is unheard of. We were so pleased with the fact that she really understood what we wanted, specially as first time home owners. Even my husband, who was reluctant at first to use a professional to help us with anything other than the kitchen, was so impressed with her personality and professionalism that he very soon realized how invaluable it was to have her help us with the rest of the rooms in the house. In a world full of choices, hard ones, when you're finally deciding to sell the last bits of Ikea furniture on craigslist and buy some nice new things, Christy makes it so simple to make decisions without ever pressuring you. My husband and I had a budget to work with, and at every turn she gave us options to choose from at a range of prices, she even spent a sleepless night thinking about our bedside table lampshades and always had her tape measure handy to make sure everything was impeccable and not a cm off. Simply put Christy is a perfectionist, always prompt and always professional, from color palettes, suggesting new art, finding the exact cushion for our daughter's room, custom shelving, making us try out some different sofa's in person for comfort level, understanding our need for modern, stylish pieces that were still child proof without looking it, she really does it all! I have already referred Christy to several people I know, and they are all very excited to be working with her. In fact when everything in our home is finally complete (we're just finishing off the very last pieces) we'll be so sad to not have Christy around anymore. Coming from a different field of design myself, I really see the value in hiring someone and trusting them with what they have been doing for a number of years, and Christy really knows her stuff!

I'd never worked with a designer before and wasn't sure if we would see eye-to-eye. Christy had me start a Pinterest board and she and I pinned and commented on everything together. It was an easy, fun way for her to figure out what I like, and to get me out of my comfort zone (read: boring, brown, all wood). She suggested things I never would have thought of, and I'm so glad she did! Every time I walk through my house, it puts a smile on my face. She also picked out gorgeous paint colors for our house. My son's room is dark navy blue with white trim, which I never would have considered before. It's absolutely beautiful and dramatic. I gave Christy a budget that I wanted to stick to, and she was respectful of it. She is very responsive and has a lot of connections. She helped up find house painters and someone to hang all our art again when the painting was done. I recommend Christy without reservation! She has fantastic taste.

After talking to a few different firms, Kanika Design just felt like the right fit. Kanika really listened to what we wanted. I've always been a bit nervous about using bold colors, but she pushed us (in a good way!) for a deeper color palette in the main living areas. It looks incredible. Kanika found us so many unique, high-quality furniture pieces that you just won't find at a big-box store. The biggest thing for us was logistics. Once the design process completed, their team handled everything - architectural, permit headache, and construction. Anyone who has done a remodel knows things never go 100% perfectly, but whenever an issue popped up, they were on top of it immediately. They kept the contractors moving and kept us updated on the budget and what was happening next. It's a relief to finally be done after 2 years and have a home that feels like us but way better. I can't recommend Kanika and her team enough. We're still obsessed with how everything turned out.

Working with Catrina at LOCZI Design was an absolute pleasure from start to finish. She helped us…read moredesign and select pieces for my bar, showroom, and home, and everything turned out beautifully. Her eye for color, tile layout, and overall design flow is truly impressive. What really sets Catrina apart is how easy and enjoyable she is to work with. She's friendly, professional, and takes the time to walk you through the process so nothing ever feels overwhelming. If you're looking for a designer who combines creativity, expertise, and a personal touch, I highly recommend LOCZI Design!

The short and sweet of it all: First, you're going to love…read moreyour "new" home! Second, Loczi will know what you want, maybe even better than you do. Third, you're going to have lots of fun, and you'll be sad when Loczi leaves. Fourth, your contractor and subcontractors will make you happy, or Loczi will help you find ones that will. Fifth, Loczi provides value well beyond traditional interior design. Sixth, when they are done your biggest challenge will be deciding which room is your favorite. We kid you not! Some details: Loczi performed a substantial interior design project for us. We knew we needed a good design team, but we'd never worked with one before. We had many trepidations as we evaluated a wide range of designers and their websites. We started our Loczi interaction with a long discussion with Mike. He listened intently to our perspectives and needs. In our first example of Loczi's great intuition, Mike proposed a business approach that fit us perfectly. Subsequently, Mike and Diana went through each room with us and discussed our thoughts on the scope of work. We were impressed not only their creativity but also by their careful note taking. We signed a contract right away. Ironically as it would turn out, Mike proposed one idea that I really didn't like. But the more I thought about his idea, the more I realized it really fit our needs. In our "new house" designed by Loczi, almost every room feels like our favorite room, but Mike's idea made our dining room not only my most favorite, but also our most effective use of space. Diana is an amazing designer. Mike, Catrina and Paige were behind the scenes reviewing the project and helping her whenever she needed them. Its one example of how Loczi's business processes are as advanced as their designs. They have a continuous improvement and customer satisfaction mindset that is refreshing in today's high stress world. If there's a problem, they get it fixed quickly. Loczi's designs are exemplary. When they tell you they can do some amazing things with paint, believe it. They have a "secret" technique for revealing a client's color preferences (sry I won't tell). We love how our interior and exterior are painted! They even came up with a perspective design in our stairwell that transformed our open plan stairwell into a special space. Collaborating with Loczi is easy, fun, and effective. They'll make Pinterest easy for you. Their mood boards are beautiful and they provide great choices. Our interactions with Diana were everything we hoped. Diana can whip out an elevation or drawing so you can visualize the design. If something didn't feel right or didn't fit our budget, alternatives came quickly and addressed our concerns. And if we ever wanted to understand the "why" of the design, Diana explained it so we understood and would be confident in our choice. One particular challenge we had was our primary bathroom. Originally built in 1985 and partially remodeled in 2009 without a designer, it was a mishmash of materials that didn't fit together very well. However, we didn't want to incur the expense of redoing the stone shower and separate tile bathtub. Loczi went to work and made the disparate materials look like they were intentional and the room was converted from a disappointment to fun loving space! And, Loczi can do much more. Diana designed a crucial piece of furniture for us that is beautiful and comfortable. When we couldn't find a rug to fit a special design need, Diana also designed the rug that did. Diana even prepared a guide for us so that if we needed to do something ourselves, we would know what colors and textures would work best in each room. We've used it for house plants and pots, pillows and throws, accessories, etc. Loczi knows some great subcontractors. Their custom window covering contractor was excellent. We not only have beautiful window coverings in our bedroom, but we no longer have light leaking in and waking us up. Specialty services like hanging art, reupholstering furniture, and window films become fun projects instead of time-consuming diversions. Their window film expert convinced us not to use his window film but instead use a sheer window covering provided by another contractor. And if you find your own subcontractor, don't be surprised to find out that they know who Loczi is and that they want to make both you and Loczi happy. Your general contractor also will see the value to their business in making Loczi happy. We had a painter who wasn't performing. Loczi found us another painter who performed better and cost less, and also smoothed the way with the general contractor. A remodel can be a tough project to undertake. When you use Loczi, you know you have a team of people that always has your back and your best interests in mind.

I had never done a house renovation before with a general contractor, and Megan helped me every step of the way. I gave her a very specific and short timeline that I needed the work to be done by. She went with me to multiple appointments, had frequent video chats with me and insured that we had the quality of products picked out within the appropriate amount of time to order them and get the work done. She drew out plans for me, got exact measurements, so we were never delayed in a part in our project. Multiple vendors commented on how easy it was to work with her blueprints. Throughout the project I would feel comfortable raising concerns to Megan and on multiple occasions, she spoke up on my behalf and advocated for me when I didn't feel comfortable speaking up myself. She did a great job of ensuring my initial vision was pulled through, even when we ran into redirection. She consulted with me on which products to splurge on versus what things could save me money. She helped bridge the communication between working with a contractor and someone who had never done something like this before. I highly recommend Megan not only for her style and her organization, but also for her professionalism and her advocacy. We will definitely be working with her on all our big projects to come!!

We found Cecile through the recommendation of friend and consulted with her on the redesign of our kitchen. We had a bit of a time constraint, and didn't want to go overboard on a "dream kitchen" that we'd have to just sell! In addition to her fabulous sense of design, one of Cecile's best qualities is her ability to really LISTEN and translate needs into a workable and fabulous design. With a simple tweak to the existing floor plan, she changed it from a closed off situation, to a beautiful, open kitchen connecting to the rest of the house! Her design removed a wall which opened up the kitchen to the dining room and made room for a half bathroom! It's something I would NEVER have thought of and it worked beautifully! She somehow made the old and the new come together and look natural, plus she picked colors for the walls that gave it that "designer" look! Our house got four great offers after the first open house and we couldn't be happier! She's wonderful and talented and great to work with. Can't recommend her enough! :o)

The updates have had a huge, positive impact on our family .. the greatly improved functionality and aesthetics. Truly profound. Specific comments for 1) Kitchen: We initially wanted to reface our cabinets to save money but ultimately went custom. Alice patiently walked us through the pros and cons to help us reach the best decision. Alice did a great job handling all the details with the custom cabinet maker to make sure everything was to spec and quickly address any concerns I had . For the overall design, we gave Alice some inspirational photos and our preferences, and it was a great collaboration to reach the end design. Alice brought up ideas, suggestions and selections I never would have considered or found on my own. Just to name a few items, the island color, the pendant lights, the hardware , and counter stools. It all ties together so well. All of her suggestions collectively took our kitchen to the next level . Key outputs during the design phase were her CAD drawings and a 3D render of the entire kitchen. The CAD drawings had all the essential details for all the trades (cabinet maker, cabinet installer , countertop vendor, appliance vendor , electrician, plumber). The 3D render was a photo realistic view of what our kitchen would look like, showcased all the ideas we agreed on and really gave us the confidence to move forward . I found myself looking at it every day! 2) Living room: Based on our living room size, Alice guided us to get to an optimally sized sofa + chaise, ottoman, and rug . We love her fireplace design. Simple and elegant. We used a mood board here and it was the right balance between cost and giving us the confidence in the design to move forward. 3) Stairs: Alice helped us with the newel post design and made a great call specifying no shoe on the square shaped balusters. The stair contractor we hired initially tried to talk us out of it and use shoes (easier to install) but Alice stuck to her guns . It all worked out as the stair contractor used a hollow mortise chisel (nominal $ increase to install the balusters) and our stairs came out perfect and the look is so much cleaner without the shoes. 4) Powder room: Alice took us out of comfort zone here by suggesting wallpaper . Based on different designs, we agreed to do wallpaper as an accent wall. This is definitely something I would have never considered but glad we are going this route to give some character to our guest bathroom . We feel so fortunate that Alice helped us with achieving our vision. Not only does Alice have amazing talent as a designer but she is also a wonderful human being that will always put your best interests first.
