She then took us to the apartment selling things she had no idea about (and later changed while we agreed to sign the lease). She let us view the apt for 10 mins, before she asked us to leave and ran out to receive another viewer. We were shocked as we didn't even get to inspect it thoroughly or ask necessary questions. In the upcoming days, we made an offer for the place. Few days later she calls to say the offer is approved but it was a different offer then we gave. She just denied saying she thinks this is fair. We agreed on few other things and signed the lease. This is where she decided to go completely MIA on us. She stopped answering emails, texts and calls to confirm the key pick up date or if the apartment was going to be cleaned (as the bathroom was used when we went to view). After 10 days ot new response. I sent her a message that she is not being nice to us, she claims these issues are not emergency and anyway she never received my emails. I told her that this response time is unacceptable, and she stopped replying to me. Today, the day before my move in date, I was scheduled to pick up my keys, and I waited outside the office because the receptionist was on a 1.5 hour break! I called Dawn, she cut it and told me to just wait. After waiting, someone from the conference room helped me out and gave me the envelope assigned to my name. It had only one set of keys, in spite oh having 2 people on the lease. I have no waited for another half an hour while my so called leasing agent, has turned her phone off, read my messages and chose to not respond to me. This has been my worst experience with a leasing agent. I am sure everyone is busy but being a decent human being and somewhat professional shouldn't be this hard for whatever job you are doing.

The pros: Mollie has connections The cons: -She was hard to get a hold of, was usually late, and I always had a strange feeling she was avoiding me. -She recommended a crappy home inspector, Bill Thomson. -I was probably one of her easiest deals: I found my property, only looked at 3 or 4 before, qualified for financing, signed all docs in a timely manner, and within 2 months, was done. I didn't get so much as a "thank you for your business email" from her. Very ungrateful. -I was interested in one property that was a short sale and, rather than directing me to a different agent who doesn't mind working with short sales, she just avoided my questions. (I later asked her how she felt about short sales and her reply was: "I won't touch them with a 10-foot pole." Ok, fine, then refer someone who will!) Basically, Mollie got the job done, which I appreciate; however, I think it's pretty tacky, especially in real estate, to not thank clients for their business. I wouldn't work with her again since she clearly didn't value me as a client.

I have no idea how…read moreshe found Ren Grandahl, although I heard he was recommended by the owner's friend on the East Coast where she had relocated. That's how to pick an agent? Owner listed the place at $930K, way out of line. Mr. Grendahl should have shown her comps and counseled her. Perhaps he did, but overpriced property rarely sells; it hurts. Two or three price reductions later, two offers were made that apparently the owner turned down. These reductions also reduced the perceived value of my portion of the building. Ren should have involved me, my attorney says, but no. This all took Ren a YEAR to accomplish virtually nothing. A YEAR of sporadic open houses. A YEAR of occasionally not showing up for advertised open houses, or not advertising open houses at all. Their web site was regularly out of date. Near the end of that year, I had called the stager to offer to rent the staged furnishings myself so her place would look good. The stager agreed, and I sent him a check, but Ren poked his nose into it and claimed that was illegal (how exactly?), and advised the stager to clear his nice stuff out. I believed him too, but my real-estate attorney said that's not so. Gee, thanks Ren, it cost me $3500 to RE-stage the place because of your bull-headed attitude when I could have made things easier for all concerned. Where's that at? Just destructive. The owner was broke, underemployed, under water, and wasn't paying her mortgage or insurance, and couldn't afford the 5% commission. She would have killed me with a thousand cuts and I'd lose all. After some stressful legal maneuvering, Ren convinced the owner to grant her place to me via a Grant Deed and my foregiveness of all her debt -- BUT he wanted half of the sales commission in exchange! For what? A YEAR of total failure? Y'all, that's almost $11K, when MY brokers advertised and showed the place and MY brokers sold it almost immediately. (See my reviews of Jesse Fowler and Pete Brannigan, coming soon, who had to eat half the sales commission. Now THAT'S service!) This episode was a wasteful and costly total DISASTER! (Except Ren got to line his big pockets.) And don't be in the same room when Ren flips to angry mode. The above is all true. Negative stars are in order for negative results.

She asked me what I was looking for, if I was preapproved, etc. I gave her a list of needs/wants and we got straight to it. By mid week, we were at our first showing. She drove out to the east bay multiple times a week if needed to go with us to open houses/scheduled showings. I could tell she was driven in helping us find the right home. Long story short, we closed 2 months after our initial meeting. I was out of the country during the close and she still made it happen. I trusted her and her process. We took her advice and it really paid off. Her experience, attention to detail, determination, and true kindness has still left us in awe over one year later. She's reached out to check in on us and has extended contacts for any work (from gardeners to concrete contractors) we've needed to have done since the purchase. Here is what I know to be true. I live peacefully with my kids in my pretty house they manage. I don't bother them. They don't bother me. I pay my rent every month on time. They accept it. Actually, I take that back. One month? My mom passed away. They had to call me on the 8th to ask where my rent was. She passed on the 31st. I told them. They were incredibly compassionate , sincere, sent me a separate email expressing this, waived late fee, just kind. This actually is above and beyond. They are fast when there is a problem. I've literally had only one. There was maintenance here the next day. Fixed. Before I am accused of being a paid reviewer, a friend of the realty, or an IDK what? I'm not. Here are some tips to be happy as a renter. Don't sublet. Don't alter someone else's property. Pay your rent. Don't be a nuisance. Don't be overly entitled . Treat others as you expect to be treated. People are far more likely to be respectful to you if you are to them.
