The food here is really good. I wish it was in MY neighborhood. Incidentally, I must've met seven different people from Lake Elsinore in the last two months since going, and I've made sure to tell each and every one of them about this place. Many of them had not been and only a couple had heard of it. It's a family owned single location. We found it while camping at the Launch Point RV Park located nearby. I tried the birria and the brisket but the highlight for me is the Carne Asada. It's great in the tacos, burritos, and especially on their french fries. Something about the cut of meat that they use or the way that they prepare it is different from most places and really flavorful. They have a really good assortment of sauces and the staff was super friendly. We went here three times in three days because it was that good. I highly recommend you check it out and I hope you have as good experience as I do because I've been craving these ever since I left! read more

Compas tacos is a cozy restaurant with good food. I came here and ordered the California burrito and boy was it filling. The burrito was large and had a ton of flavor - trust me you'll be full off it. It had fries, guac, asada, and cheese - just look a the photo! The food was good, but if you're a salsa lover and lover of pickled veggies (like me) then you might be slightly disappointed. The salsa lacked flavor and it tasted very store bought as opposed to fresh, handmade. The picked veggies also didn't have the tanginess and spice that I love. The staff was nice, and the food service was quick! If you pay cash, you'll get a slight discount at the register. read more

Pretty good! The tacos are very fresh. It's a little restaurant. They be whipping out those tacos fast! I ordered a custom taco lol I wanted the fish and shrimp tacos, but with more of a street taco filling. I asked them to do that and they messed up the first time. They put sour cream and forgot the pico. That's okay. I know I was ordering something custom. I ordered all three tacos with pico, cilantro and guacamole. Sans the sour cream. I don't like sour cream. They brought them to me with sour cream. Then remade them. The tacos were decent. My husband loved the burrito. He kept raving about the meat and flavor. He doesn't care for the rolled taquitos. Those were bland and not impressive. read more

I ordered the 3 taco special and a cucumber lime agua fresca. For my tacos I ordered lengua, birria, and brisket. Although they weren't horrible, my tacos lacked flavor. I was hoping to add some flavor with a mild salsa and some lime, but all of the salsas were a little too spicy for my liking, and they only had lemon slices and no lime. I don't think I've been to a taco shop that doesn't offer lime. One of my tacos had so much fat that I had to pick through it and remove the fatty pieces before I could eat it. On the plus side, the agua fresca was pretty good, and service was fine, but I wouldn't go back. read more

Found this on Yelp. Hubby was craving tacos and came across this place. First thing we noticed was the birria pizza. My daughter wanted birria and hubby and decided to try the birria pizza. We got the one with consommé too. They give you 3 big cups of consommé. It was huge and filling! Watching the cooks make it was awesome too. lol I would have messed it up big time. Hubby got tacos in the side--carne asada, brisket and pastor and said they were good but preferred the birria pizza for sure. I got a pastor mulita which was huge! lol I ended up trying the birria pizza and prefer that as well. Mulita was good though. Fries were really good. Lastly we had the bean and cheese for our youngest girls and they loved it and ate it with fries as well. Cute little place too. Overall it was delicious and we would come back! Thank you. read more

The real deal. Friendly staff. Meat is marinated and flavorful. Not bland carne asada. This place is good. 10/10.

Food is good! This place is right around the corner from my house and it's really convenient when I want some tacos (I love tacos with guacamole and a good salsa). The service is real good. There are some teens that work here and they are very polite (I'm so iffy about bad service). I also got some taquitos also, super good. I go in and try their specials often and everything has been A1 read more

Chicken Tacos, fried beans and nachos are a must. You leave out satisfied while not overspending. Staff are amazing too.

We tried these at a school. Great tacos and great quesadillas! The aguas frescas we tried were some of the best we've had in a long time. Kids and adults all loved everything! read more

Saw some good reviews about this taco spot and decided to give it a try. I ordered a carne asada burrito. Burrito visually looked good, but the meat and the beans had no flavor. Rice was a little dry and the hot sauces aren't what is expected from a taco spot. I wouldn't give it a second try TBH. read more

I've only been here once, but I can say easily that everything I had was the best of its kind. Having said that, you must try everything I had and tell me if you feel the same: 1. The birria tacos. Deep fried on a clean plancha. And the chili oil they give you for dipping is fantastic! 2. California burrito. I know you can get these anywhere, but they beat Miguel Jr, Alberto's, everybody. 3. Jamaica. Again, I know you can get these just about anywhere, but what stands out is that they add GUAVA to the mix and it gives it a rich flavor, you won't want the hibiscus without it after this. Shout out to Jose for being such a gentleman my first time there! read more

I tried the California burrito here, and it was good -- definitely enjoyable, but being from Los Angeles I've had better. Still, I appreciate the experience overall. The customer service was welcoming, and the ambiance made it a nice spot to sit down and eat. I'm new to the area and haven't explored much yet, so it was refreshing to find a place with lots of menu options and great deals. I also like that they have a text-in feedback system to share your thoughts, which shows they care about improving. On top of that, they offer catering, which is a huge plus if you're looking for options for events. Overall: solid spot, great service and atmosphere, and I'd come back to try other menu items! read more

It's taken me too long to try this place and it's one of my favs now for just about anything Mexican food. My go-to is the breakfast burrito which is a good size and filling. I've had their loaded fries which I usually get with scrambled eggs. Look how juicy and loaded they are. They were just as satisfying. It's not the largest place but there's a good amount of seating. Usually I walk in and am the only one in there, then people start packing the place. Service is good, food doesn't take long at all. Looking forward to trying something different but am always satisfied with my usual read more

First time coming to Compas Tacos . I try to eat mostly meat and less carbs . I ordered their steak breakfast burrito, and it has a perfect blend of meat egg and cheese and they do add hashbrowns, which was very lightly just to give it a crunchy texture. Burrito was packed with soft meat perfectly. Ps watermelon water to top it off read more

First time trying this place. We ordered our food to go, but would have eaten there if we weren't tired. The establishment is clean and air conditioned. It's not big. I like that you have a clear view of the kitchen and could see how they prepare your food. The employees are nice and the lady at the cashier speaks Spanish (which is nice for those who English is not their first language.) My husband ordered el Compa Burrito which is basically a carne asada burrito with fries. He said it had good flavor, but it wasn't well proportioned or mixed well together. He also said the meat was shredded and he likes chunks of meat in his burrito. He gave it 3 out of 5 stars. I ordered a torta de Milanesa. This thing was huge, it could be shared. The flavor was good and it had what a regular torta has, beans, meat, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes. The only thing I would suggest is adding is some cheese. I also got a carne asada taco and that was good as well. The salsas are delicious!!! We are picky with salsa and theirs are great! read more
