Have ordered here a few times always try to give it another try because it's local but I'm over it. Paid extra for sour cream and guacamole in the burrito did not receive it instead just a brick of hard dry beans and hard old rice. read more

Here's an updated review--since my last visit, they've really stepped things up with their upgraded dine-in service. Every time we've gone, the staff has been super friendly and very attentive. In my previous review, I mentioned an issue where my quesadilla took a while, and there wasn't much communication about the delay. It turned out they had to remake it, but I just wish they had checked in and kept me informed. It wasn't a huge issue, but a little communication would have gone a long way. That said, the service overall has consistently been great, and the food is still delicious--especially for a spot in Lake Elsinore. The restaurant is always spotless and well-kept, which I really appreciate. My family and I love coming here. We've tried the tacos, burritos, gorditas, nachos--you name it. And we never skip on the chips and salsa--they're our favorite! Plus, it's so conveniently close by. Definitely a local gem. read more

Finally had the chance to check out El Agave restaurant and my only regret is not coming sooner. We were seated by the sweetest server. She was kind and courteous and gave wonderful recommendations. We started with an order of chips and salsa and the salsa was spicy and tasty! The chips were fresh and crisp. Just know that the chips and salsa although not complimentary, are worth the price. We ordered a fish burrito, a huarache de buche, fries, carnitas taco and menudo. Everything was so flavorful and delicious. The fries were so crispy and yummy. The tortillas with the menudo are made fresh. We also had the atole de maza and Champurado and both were hot and such a delight! I feel this will be our new favorite spot as we definitely want to give everything on their menu a try! If visiting Lake Elsinore, please give them a try! read more

The service was great, but unfortunately, the food didn't meet expectations. It wasn't the same as I remembered. My two boys and I ordered the torta de asada, and the meat was very dry--so much that I couldn't finish it. I was really disappointed. My husband had the taquitos de papa and said they were good. It's been a while since I last visited this place. Usually, the owner is the one cooking, but I didn't see him today--maybe that made a difference. read more

Gave this place another try and I'm glad I did. The pizza wasn't bad for a place with such a huge menu-and that doesn't specialize in pizza. The food was great. I went on four occasions and grabbed food to go. I was only treated well once. I thought I found a new place to go nearby. However, I was wrong. My husband and I have come here multiple times and the food is always great! They do charge for chips and salsa. We ordered the chile verde burrito and the 3 fried taco plate. The food came out in a timely manner and the staff was extremely friendly. I love the rice and beans that come with the plates. The beans are not dry and have a lot of flavor. The fried chicken tacos were delicious and moist. The chile verde burrito was a little hard to eat since it was so saucy. Their plate portions are pretty big and can be enough to share. Ordered 2 carne asada burritos and got 10 pounds of rice and beans. Barely any meat. I asked for everything which included cilantro, onions, and guacamole. They failed to do that. I would not recommend this place at all. It's disgusting. No taste. It's bland. Waste of $23. read more

I stopped by this place to grab some food for the family. It's a bit out of the way for us but I wanted to support small business. The plane was bigger than I expected and the menu has a very large variety. The dessert section was terrible. But with all of the options, you can't go wrong. Mexican food, hamburgers, and pizza should cover most visitors. We stayed with burritos asada with everything. It was really good. Full of flavor and would def order it again. (They had a family deal for burgers that was cheap with 4 burgers, fries and sodas. For $25.99) The order taker was nice and the person that handed me our food was nice. The only drawback was honestly, the place was sticky. The tables were kinda old and kinda gross. The food was solid so a carry out order is perfect. They clearly cater to the west side of the lake and I hope they do great business because the variety and quality of food was spot on. read more

El Agave is Awesome! Nestled into the little shopping center next to the Dollar General. It's a nice little shop inside, no frills and not like they need any. You walk in and they have their menu right there for you to decide whether you want tamales, tacos, burritos, gorditas, or even cheeseburgers! Oh my.. They also have wonderful specials all week long and a family cheeseburger special, I just might have to try.. This was our first time here and opted to try the street tacos, tamales, burrito, Shrimp and Fish tacos (Friday Special) and of course, horchata. The street tacos were delish! Simple and perfect at the same time. Presentation can mean a lot and in their case, it did not disappoint. With enough meat and lemon wedges and radish and that guacamole sauce, if I could have it bottled up, I would.. Yum! Carnitas, Chicken, and Carne Srteet Tacos were ordered.. My husband had the Carne Asada burrito and I have to say that is definitely one of the best ones I've had in a while. The perfect, equal amount of everything! Soo good. We also got the red, pork tamales and were so good, I can't wait to put in an order for MI Familia lol.. I would just go back for those. Enough masa and enough meat. They sure know how make a tamale and not charge an arm and a leg. We also ordered the Shrimp and Fish Tacos as it was Friday and that was the special of the day..One, they were HUGE..and Two..you can't go wrong with the price..check it out, you WILL NOT be disappointed! Not to mention..those we delicious as well.. The horchata..what can I say..(to me) it tastes like my grandmother used to make, I couldn't get enough. I love their PIZZA! Yes...El Agave also sells pizza! 4 sizes of pies, piled with delicious ingredients! No skimping here!!!! The price is right and they also deliver if you want. I also ordered a kids size burrito and fries. The burrito was great, but the fries were the soggiest, brownest, ugliest fries I've ever seen in my life! Yuk! Please guys...don't re-fry your fries!!! We gave it too many chances. We like to support local businesses in Lake Elsinore where we live now. Very hard to support when they have no customer service skills at all. We have tried few items on the menu, but most of the time it was a negative experience. So, the last time we ordered fried mojarras to go, the mojarras were so over cooked, almost burned, it was hardly any fish meat to eat. Since the overcooked situation had happened in previous orders, this time I decided to call the restaurant to let them know the bad experience with the fried fish. Only the beans and rice were ok to eat. The lady in the restaurant could care less about it and she said that I needed to take the complete order back in order to get a refund. What a joke, by the time you get home with your order you are too hungry just start eating and when half through the beans and rice realize cannot eat the fried fish because is burned, HOW CAN YOU TAKE THE COMPLETE ORDER BACK? They have no idea how to treat a customer. read more

I'm very shocked how many bad experiences I've had lately with this place. I never complained until now. The food has been horrible. Today I decided to give it a try again. I was really craving carne asada fries. They smelled awful! I thought it was the guacamole since it had a dark green color as if it has been sitting for a while. This used to be El Rinconcito and new owners changed the name but the tacos and salsa are still the same which made me very happy because their tacos are amazing!!
