I received a set of 7 hand me down two way radios at work to use at my site. Two had broken antennae, one squeaked obnoxiously whenever it received a signal and two just wouldn't transmit or receive. I looked online to find a repair place near by and found CommUSA. I was referred to Glen when I called and had a short but to the point conversation about what my needs were and how he could help. We set a time for the following day to meet at his office in Escondido.
The following day , I met Glen. He looked at the units I had brought and quickly mentioned a few things he could do to help me just by quickly scanning over the radios. He then hooked up each unit to his computer to see what was going on inside each one and how to work specifically with each one. He went through additional visual inspection, computer analysis and diagnosed other issues that I would have if I continued using these units. Instead of trying to sell me new units, he changed out two batteries at half the normal retail and gave me two replacement antennae to avoid further damage. The antenaa and work.... FREE!
Glen was simply amazing. My company didn't have a contract with CommUSA, but he graciously took almost an hour to inspect, analyze and diagnose each radio without pay. Although these units have seen better days and were pretty much on their last legs, I walked out with seven working radios. And he did it all for free! My staff was thrilled to see what I had done to make their days run smoother.
Although he's a sales guy, Glen just briefly mentioned what we could do to extend the life of the radios we have and showed me some other options on units that he would suggest for my work site if we could fund a new purchase. Knowing that I worked for a non-profit, we also talked about how CommUSA has helped support other non-profits in the past.
I was impressed with the overall customer support I received with CommUSA and will direct any and all of my two way radio needs to them in the future.
