    This is one of my favorite local thrift stores! You're pretty much always bound to find a great deal and/or a cool item! This visit was no different. I came in looking for a dress and ended up finding a really cute one, plus it happened to be 25% off thanks to the tag color. Definitely a win! Lines can sometimes get a little long though, especially on a Saturday.

    Jessica is amazing! The deals are good but unless you have a good beautiful soul who helps you it doesn't matter! Hire more like Jessica ! Great variety and great service! Always find good brands with amazing service when Jessica is there!

    Community Thrift Store in Covina is a goldmine for anyone who loves a good treasure hunt. The space is surprisingly large, and everything is impressively well organized, which makes browsing feel a lot more enjoyable than your typical thrift dig. The quality of the items is consistently good, from clothing to home goods to the occasional "how did this end up here" find. It can get a little busy at times, especially on weekends, but the turnover is high enough that there's usually something new to discover. If you are patient and love the thrill of the hunt, this place is absolutely worth a stop.

    We already spent all this money before the $14, to be treated like that was very uncalled for.

    Disturbing, Improper Handling of Currency and Customer Treatment Today I visited this location with my mother, whom I rarely get to see. Spending time together is important to me, and one of her favorite activities is thrift shopping. Earlier that same day, we had an excellent experience at one of your sister locations--clean store, friendly staff, and outstanding customer service from the cashier Melody. Based on that positive experience, we decided to visit this location as well. Unfortunately, the experience here was profoundly disappointing and concerning. We entered the store approximately ten minutes before closing. While we were not greeted, I understood it was near closing time. However, the environment quickly became uncomfortable due to repeated and abrupt announcements such as, "You all have five minutes," followed by "Two minutes, you better be up here." The tone was unnecessarily aggressive and not consistent with respectful customer service standards. At checkout, the two cashiers--identified as Irma and Fritzy--were speaking among themselves, avoiding eye contact with customers, and making comments about "getting people out." It was also at this point that I realized the store operates on a cash-only basis. My total came to $14.93, and I tendered a $20 bill. This was an older bill that I keep for sentimental reasons, as it was the first tip I received when I opened my first business. I currently own two businesses and am in the process of opening a third, and I work with cash transactions daily. The cashier immediately stated that the bill was counterfeit and refused to return it, stating that the police would need to be called. I calmly explained that it was simply an older bill and requested that it be returned to me. At this point, proper protocol for suspected counterfeit currency was not followed. A counterfeit detection pen was used and did not indicate the bill was counterfeit. Despite this, hand sanitizer was poured directly onto the bill and aggressively rubbed, nearly tearing it, yet nothing transferred or supported the claim that the bill was fake. Despite the lack of evidence, I was told, "I don't trust it," and the bill continued to be withheld. The cashier then instructed the other employee to photograph the bill--after it had already been shown not to fail standard counterfeit checks. For clarity: * Employees are not law enforcement and do not have authority to confiscate U.S. currency without proof. * If a bill is suspected, best practice is to decline the transaction and return the currency--not retain it, photograph it, or publicly accuse the customer. * Withholding personal property without cause or proof may constitute improper detention of property. To de-escalate the situation, my brother paid for the purchase. The entire interaction was humiliating and deeply upsetting. I felt publicly accused, judged, and profiled in front of my family and other customers--over a $20 bill, after having already spent several hundred dollars at your stores earlier that same day. The implication that we would attempt fraud over such a small amount was insulting. When I later called the store to request the name of the manager on duty, I was initially refused that information. I was eventually told that Irma, the same individual involved in the incident, was the acting manager at the time--raising serious concerns about accountability and misuse of supervisory authority. This experience raises significant concerns regarding: * Improper handling of suspected counterfeit currency * Lack of de-escalation training * Potential customer profiling * Failure to follow respectful and lawful customer service protocols I left the store shaken, embarrassed, and saddened--not just for myself, but for others who may have been treated similarly. This situation could have been handled discreetly, professionally, and respectfully. Instead, it resulted in unnecessary humiliation. I hope this review prompts serious internal review and corrective action. No customer should ever leave a store feeling degraded or judged based on assumptions or appearance.

    This places stays busy! I don't know how I'm just discovering this gem of a spot but wow, the amount of people going in and out of this place is a true testament of how much great stuff can be found here. It was interesting too how many different types of people were there to shop. Anyway, they have a lot of big brands in terms of clothing and I really like how they organize all the clothes. You'll not only find customers weaving through the racks of clothes, the employees here are always on the move reorganizing and putting out new items! Definitely want to come back!

    Make sure to check their colored tag discounts for the week. Credit card surcharge is 3% , use debit or cash to avoid the surcharge . All sales final / No returns or exchange . As I walk in the store my daughters say and I quote "it smells like 10 cans of bounce that a$$!". OMG! The front store smells like urine;( .. It's a big store , kids didn't find any deals . They do carry brand name merchandise, like Prada , LV etc. to be honest I couldn't tell if it's authentic so I didn't entertain the idea .

    On their website, I scheduled a pickup for books, just books. The website gave a checkbox for books…read moreso I checked the box for "Books". I placed them on the porch, shrink-wrapped in several bundles and waited for pickup. The driver arrived, looked at the stack of books and said, "Just books? We don't take books." He supposedly called his supervisor and the driver said the supervisor would call me --- which he NEVER did. Driver said the supervisor said "no books" and the driver left without picking up my donation of books. I then called their 800 number and the guy on the phone tried to twist the facts by saying the driver didn't pick up the books "because they weren't in boxes or bags." THAT IS NOT WHAT THE ONSITE DRIVER OR HIS SUPERVISOR SAID -- THEY SAID "WE DON'T TAKE BOOKS". Period. No books. THE DRIVER SAID NOTHING ABOUT BAGS/BOXES FOR THE BOOKS. HE SAID WE DON'T TAKE BOOKS. PERIOD!! No, they want the family jewels instead. I will NEVER try to donate to this organization again. Inserting their own narrative about bags/boxes after the fact, twisting the facts, makes them LIARS! Be sure to video your encounter with the driver because they lie. (In fact, come to think of it, I have a Ring video of the encounter.)
