I have accessed the Mobile Market many times at several different locations and have always found the produce to be extremely fresh and other goods to be of the highest quality. I have also volunteered at their annual Harvest Fest and Farm to Cocktail events and love how they bring the community together. I am always impressed with the passion, commitment, energy and knowledge of all the staff and I am grateful Lowell has such an amazing organization!

At their Mobile Market, I can get all kinds of produce I can't find anywhere else (lemon cucumbers, husk cherries, colorful beets, a huge variety of kale....). It's always grown locally, always in season, and you can use your SNAP card here. Check their website for the seasonal schedule. Sometimes staff will do taste tests, or offer recipe suggestions, which are really helpful. In addition to growing and selling the food, Mill City Grows also offers educational programming in gardening and preparing food, and provides support for community gardens in Lowell, so you can even grow your own with their help. I took a basic welding class to make a barn star at the Garrison Speed Shop in Mendon,…read moreMassachusetts. I have never welded before or used some of the tools and equipment required. The template pieces were all laid out, but that was it. Co-founder Luke had me read and sign all the releases first, and asked about my experience with welding etc. Being a Veteran myself, Luke as well, and the non-profit supporting Veterans and First Responders, he also made sure to ask me if loud noises or anything would bother me. Every step was explained and demonstrated before I was able to do it, and as nervous as I was at first, it quickly went away knowing he took my safety, the safety of others as well as their shop very seriously. Co-founder Ben also provided some muscle when I was unable to bend the metal myself. In just over 2 hours I had sanded, measured, re-measured, bent , hammered and welded together a really cool one of a kind 5-sided barn star. It was definitely something different to do and it was a really cool and fun experience. 5 stars !

I did a data shred drop off. My needs were small, one full trash can. The price was right at $50…read morefor my drop off. The communication and process was a bit off. As instructed on the drop off page of their website I called them to tell them of my drop off. First, I called in the morning to establish my understanding. The woman who answered confirmed my information and I was told to call when I was close, which I did. In my second call, ten minutes away, I was given directions and to go to door #7 not clearly marked). I was also informed, for the first time, that they did not take credit cards for drop offs. This meant I had to go get cash. As I arrived, one of their trucks was pulling in. He wanted to get into the bay of the garage. I asked him about drop off and he said he would call. This guy was very helpful and friendly, he entered the building, which clearly had credit card indicators on the door. If not for drop offs, for whom, as pickups would not see the door? Once I emptied my documents into the barrel, the truck driver emptied the barrel into the truck shredder. I don't think they have an on-site shredder, maybe just truck based. He took mt money, but then had to go looking for change. I only had twenties, as I was not expecting a cash exchange. So, good price, nice guy, got my shredding done, but it seemed a bit haphazard. Could work on processes.
