I choose Bowie location, though older, it's closer to home and the staff is usually awesome. However, this visit, I wasn't given the piece of paper to get a pin # to gain access to the portal. I just called, though apologetic, she the 2nd person to take my call said I have to go back to the physical location just to get a pin. I said with all this computers, growth and technology, a person has to get in their car with these gas prices to drive back to the physical location is simply ridiculous. Community Radiology should be ashamed of this process. Even if it was simply sent to the email on file after they spend minutes verifying who you are. CR, you are out dated, this is a simple fix that only cost pennys to fix/correct. SW read more

Came here for a service at the request of my OBYGN. I was happy to obtain an appointment for the same day. Whooop! I thought the process was pretty seamless, as I was sent a text to update my insurance card, order, and ID. I was sent a email later with a request to do the intake information prior to the appointment and how to prepare for the appointment. When I arrived, I texted that I was there, and was immediately called in to check in. But oops! I forgot my order, no worries because I already sent I scheduled the appointment I was good to go! Boom! There are several folk sitting behind the glass, and they do enforce social distancing in the waiting room. Mask are required. A gentleman entered the waiting room without one and was given one to be compliant. I wasn't sure who to go to for check in, so I stopped at the first person that greeted me. The checkin process was pretty seamless. My tech was super sweet and engaging. She was willing to answer questions and explained every step of the process. I've been coming to this location for all my routine imaging services for years without issue. The facility is clean and staff is pleasant. They accept walk-ins although I always make an appt. Part of the reason why I haven't encountered problems is because I come prepared. I arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete paperwork. I've listed a few key reminders below. a. Come with your ID, medical ins card, and hard copy of your doctors referral (if possible). b. If you must bring your underaged child, the child must be accompanied by another adult while you're getting your imaging done. c. Be prepared to pay your specialist copay fee d. Don't use deodorant & lotion if you're getting a mammogram. e. Drink at least 24oz of H2O before an abdominal ultrasound Don't be alarmed if the techs refrain from talking to you. My techs asked if I was ok, but that's about it. It's my understanding that they are advised not to discuss what they see. The images go to the radiologist who will interpret and send results to the requesting doc within 48 hours. I don't usually review medical facilities like this, but the reviews didn't reflect the quality of care that I receive. read more

In the past, I've had several tests run at this location and I haven't had any issues. However, this particular visit left a bad taste in my mouth. I arrived 20 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment time. As I enter, the staff member closest to the door literally looked up at me and looked back down. No greeting, or anything. She just continued her personal conversation with the other staff members. Out of the 6 people seated behind the window, only 1 greeted me and offered to assist. Great customer service! (Sarcastic Side Eye) This helpful employee then directed me to the mammogram waiting room. After a few minutes, I was then greeted by another staff member. She directed me to the dressing room to lock up my personal belongings and change into the examination wardrobe. After waiting a while to be seen, I was finally called to the back for my exam. After getting set up, the machine couldn't correctly make the scan. The tech made a few adjustments to the machine, but nothing. She then shut the machine completely down, again, nothing. She then called a ticket in to have it troubleshooted. After waiting and waiting and not knowing when and if this issue would be corrected that day, I decided I wasn't going to wait any longer and wanted my original doctors order back and was going to take my business elsewhere. I didn't have an attitude, nor was I rude or disrespectful, but I was tired of sitting and waiting. The tech apparently took it personally by saying to me that, "things happen" and "you want to go elsewhere?" in a rude and condescending tone. YES, I SURE DO! Why, because I have that option and it's my health insurance that's paying for it and I DON'T have to wait if I don't want to! I got dressed and went to the front desk. The same staff member that didn't assist the last time did the same exact thing, looked up and didn't assist this time. She should probably be moved and sit in the back if she isn't going to assist patients. (Again, great customer service) The friendly woman in the back called me over and was eager to assist me and give me back my doctor's orders. Let me reiterate this thought, I absolutely know that things happen and machines have technical errors on a daily basis, heck, I work with one daily and it doesn't always work when I want it to work. So, I absolutely know it's no ones fault why the machine decided to act a fool right before I could get examined, but some of the staff that I encountered left something to be desired. DO BETTER and BE MORE PROFESSIONAL! To the few staff members that I encountered that were more than willing to assist me and did it very friendly and professional, I thank you. After I left, I was able to book an appointment with my original thought for this test, Chesapeake Medical Imaging, in Annapolis. They ALWAYS treat me with respect and are extremely professional! I have never had an issue making my appointments in the past. This last week I have attempted to make an appointment for a cat scan and pelvic ultrasound. It has been a huge headache. I spoke to approximately five people because one office transferred me to another, then I was transferred to another, and another, so on with no appointment. I like the employees in the office and it's been a great experience for me up to now. This process needs to be streamlined! It is extremely frustrating and my cat scan was canceled today. Parking was terrible, insufficient. Receptionist was unfriendly, unhelpful and officious. Coordination between CRA and referring doctor was completely bungled. CRA bureaucracy is horrendous; as soon as you clear one paperwork or authorization hurdle, they'll remember another one. And they may forget to tell you to arrive 30 minutes early... Or that it takes them 5 days to process an insurance authorization. And, after navigating their phone maze and finally speaking with a scheduler and answering scores of detailed questions, I was disconnected... CRA is unprofessional and inconsiderate. And why would a reputable practice pay for so many fake 5-star Google reviews??? read more

Four stars for the front desk (you couldn't pay me enough money to do what they do), five for the technician. Five stars for the advocate that reads these reviews and follows up with patients to assist improving the patient experience in the future - that's not common in my experience, but it is appreciated. At the door they took my ID and sent me to seat which was right across from the sign that says "The management is not responsible for lost items". No explanation on why my ID was held (they did this for everyone that came in while I was in the lobby), no logical reason I can think of why you must give your ID to one person so that it can be put in a bin and someone else then has to call you up and actually check you in. Follow-up: The advocate explained that the process with the IDs is to eliminate the sign in sheet to help protect patient privacy -- and I get that but still wonder if there isn't a better option than me having to handle over a critical item and risk me forgetting to get it back later...yes the desk tech plays a role here too, but we're all human and oversights can never be fully ruled out. The tech for the actual radiology exam was friendly and professional but the front desk experience was cooly polite and left me a little cold. However the follow up for the advocate warmed the cockles of my cold little heart so I'm bumping up the overall stars. Communication is a key aspect of every experience for me and the follow up provided that much needed communication. PSA: Located in a building that the internal offices were numbered by someone that walked around in a circle and slapped signs up...that's only explanation I can think of for why 104 is across from 112 and 102 (where CRA is located) is at the other end of the building. Not CRAs doing, but if you aren't familiar with the building...maybe this PSA will help. read more

Been coming here for years and I'm the past have been very satisfied. But a little disappointed today with the apparent new staff. Had a 4:20 appt. Arrived at 4:26. Asked if I had an appt. I said yea. Asked for my insurance card and ID. Looked in computer, handed me back my items and was then told the tech had already left. Front desk young lady (with a "K" necklace) very rude. Just said she left then worked on her computer saying nothing. Then just grabbed her purse and started walking away. When I asked if she was going to reschedule me, she turned and said "she will, I'm off the clock" and again started walking away. When I said she could have said something, she rolled her eyes and walked away. I realize that I was a few minutes late, but really, 6 minutes? And it certainly could have been handled better. read more

Extremely unprofessional. The front desk staff simply do not know what they are doing. They made me come back almost three times for one appointment because a staff by the name Jasmine had no clue how to verify authorizations for specific CT scans. This particular staff had me come back a second time only for another staff to claim she had no idea who scheduled me but that the kind of appointment I had needed a doctor to be present on site. So according to the second front desk staff I spoke to I had to come back a third time so they could schedule me when a doctor would be around .I had to insist they expedite my results to my doctor if I would have to come back a third time. They told me they needed to get a stat from my doctor to ensure my doctor's office would authorize expediting my results . According to them my doctor's office would not be open till 8:30 am. I accepted to wait till then. The girl by the name Jasmine who gave me the initial appointment showed up and wanted to know if I was attended to. I told her I was told that I could not be seen till 10:30 am (when a doctor would be on site) and I was being told to reschedule for Friday (by which time I would need my CT scan results expedited to my doctor's office). She denied telling me to come in at 7 am and tried to pretend she told me I could come at anytime. Long story short, after pushing and insisting to be seen I eventually had my CT scan done. read more

I came here because the other location had a 2 1/2 hour wait. I was told there were 3 ppl ahead of me at my arrival. I sat there for literally a hour started to realize they were calling people who came in after me. I asked one of the front desk ladies and she said oh they pulled you so you should be up next no one is ahead of you. I sat back down only to realize the X-ray Tech literally was calling somebody else whom had just sat down literally. Meanwhile the location I was initially at had called me a hour ago because it was my turn there, unfortunately i was sitting in the lobby here being skipped!!! I NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM IN CLINTON OR GREENBELT LOCATION. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING BOWIE UNLESS YOU HAVE NOTHING BUT TIME TO WASTE. X-RAY DIDNT TAKE BUT 2 MINS... Hands down, best customer service. I read the reviews, and I appreciate what Alexis said where she brings all the required documents. As patients we should come prepared. I've gone to medical offices and the staff is almost never happy to see you. This entire office said 'good morning'! Everyone!!! Don't get me wrong, you don't have to be happy all the time but be professional and this place was. The billing is terrible. My insurance company paid the allowed amount but put a note saying that I was not liable for the $50 balance that was still owed. I have received 2 statements and have called Radnet (their billing office) twice and told them that on the Explanation of Benefits it states that I owe nothing. After receiving a call today wanting me to pay the $50 immediately, I explained once again that my EOB from my insurance says I owe nothing. She said that she didn't have the EOB and I could fax it to her. I offered to scan it and emailed it to her, since I obviously don't own a fax machine and driving to find one is extremely inconvenient. (Who faxes things these days!) It's standard for a billing office to have the EOB, so I think they were just lazy. I'll see if they will make the correction, but at this point I'm doubtful. read more

I was so nervous even though it wasn't my first MRI. The lady checked me in and I was quickly seen. The tech, Darren, walked/talked me through it, was patient and accommodating.....I requested music but could only listen during my back scan because I couldn't with the neck scan. I also got a sleep mask. I can't say enough about this office/staff. Afterwards, it was late, but the other lady talked to me while I waited for disc. Very friendly person. My exp. would have been a lot worst, if not for the staff. I would recommend them for all your test needs. My last appt. with another office fell through weeks before and I'm glad it did. Good customer service is hard to find these days. I hope not to see them too soon, but if I must, I'd go there again & again. Side note: The patient's need to stay off phone in the office and talk outside door. I'm glad this was addressed because I could barely hear while checking in. read more

I had to have an MRI done at this facility. The staff was very friendly and made me feel at ease. This was my first time having one done, so I was feeling very nervous. The MRI Technician talked me through the procedure and told me there would only be a few more minutes left. Initially, I was freaking out about having to be in a little tube for so long. The nurse that did my mammogram was very nice, apologized because it's painful and made the experience not completely awful. The nurse that completed my sonograms was gentle but it would have been more comforting if she talked to me while all that probing and scanning. I didn't know what was going on and I didn't feel like a patient more like a test subject. The front desk experience was not pleasant because I was told my card was declined but her card reader wasn't operating correctly. Their greetings aren't friendly for a office that should make women/clients feel better about what they have to have completed. My appointment was 11:30am and I would have much enjoyed a pleasant greeting than the harsh ones everyone received upon entry. If I had to have more test run, I would chose another location based on their greeting alone. read more

Since 2013, I have had 2 X-rays here, 1 MRI, and another MRI coming up in 1 week. I've never had a problem with any of the staff or billing. The length of time spent in the waiting room can be annoying but it is what it is. There was an error on my radiologist's report from an X-Ray that was performed at the beginning of April 2017. It regarded the duration of my symptoms and they messed up the time frame (it was 3 months, the radiologist wrote 3 weeks). I do not know if the radiologist got this wrong, or if the technician misheard me when she went through the battery of questions (why are you here today, how long has this been going on, etc.) Unfortunately their MRI does not have music & you can't bring your own in either. However their earplugs are pretty damn good so the noise didn't really bother me. It sounded like a 56K modem on steroids and not the knocking and banging that we've all heard so much about. read more

Waiting 1.5 hours to get a 10 min liver ultrasound done is pretty unreasonable. I had to inquire at the front desk more than once. For as many people who work there, you think they could communicate with each other a bit more effectively. And they don't have WIFI. read more

This is a money hungry company. They will set you up on a payment plan, threaten to send you to collections even though you make regular payments, and then go behind your back and still send you to collections even though you are making payments per their payment plan...even if you make payments that are more than what your payment plan was. They are the most difficult company to deal with financially. I will NEVER go back there again. All they care about is your money. read more

The receptionist were pleasant when I arrived. My only complaint is that when I made my appointment I was not told of the no children without another adult present rule. I've had my children at various ultrasounds while pregnant so it didn't occur to me to inquire. I was getting a basic abdominal scan so it was annoying to re-schedule after already arriving.
