The Oak Creek Condominium Association switched their management company sometime during the summer of 2018. I have proof that my July association payment was directly debited from my checking account by Park Management. In fact, Lisa of Community Management Solutions, emailed me saying that David, of Park Management, claimed that he didn't debit my account for July's assessment. I emailed her back saying that Park Management had electronically debited my checking account, and to provide proof, I attached a picture of a copy of bank statement showing it. She never responded to my email response, so I assumed she resolved the issue. I now know she had, by charging me twice for my August assessment. The residents of the Oak Creek Condominium Association were left in limbo as to when Community Management Solutions would officially become the new management company.
In mid July, the Oak Creek Condominium Association residents were notified by the hanging of a piece of the paper in the common entrance (that I don't use) the switch from Park Management to Community Management Solutions was completed, but I had yet to receive any formal notification of the completion of the switch. I mailed my August association payment to Community Management Solutions, as I was notified by Lisa via email that Park Management was no longer the management company.
In late July, Community Management Solutions had finally mailed a letter to the Oak Creek Condominium Association residents formally introducing themselves, as well to inform the residents of the ACH debit option. The letter also included a questionnaire to be returned to Community Management Solutions. The last part of the questionnaire addressed our preferred method of communication. I noted I wanted to be contacted via mail. I mailed my September association payment, the necessary ACH paperwork to debit my checking account until further notice, and my questionnaire to Community Management Solutions. Given that I did not hear from Community Management Solutions, I assumed everything was in place. I watched my checking account for confirmation that they received the aforementioned. The check I had written (#2000) was cashed on September 13, 2018.
For the the month of October, Community Management Solutions should have electronically debited my checking account for my assessment.
Community Management Solutions has always had my permission to take my assessment from my checking account, and should have formally notified me of any errors on my form that did not allow them to do so. I was never made aware that Community Management Solutions was not electronically debiting my checking account to pay my assessment.
I am not sure why I was never formally notified that my monthly assessment wasn't being electronically debited by Community Management Solutions, much less that late fees were being applied because they did not do so, much less that I was being charged twice for August's (really July's, but according to their payment sheet they applied the check I mailed for August to July's balance) assessment even though Lisa with Community Management Solutions was well aware I paid July's assessment electronically, and that I was being turned over to collections for a debt I wasn't aware of. If I was made aware of all of these issues prior to now, I would have resubmitted my ACH form from
the Community Management Solutions website, and made the payment, as I am now, since this is the first time I've been notified of any issue. read more
