She has already tried medication prescribed by a doctor in India, but unfortunately it hasn't helped. I was told we would need to come in for a visit in order to receive a referral. During our appointment, the doctor entered the room and immediately said she would refer us to a specialist, possibly for a biopsy, without examining my daughter. That sudden mention of a biopsy was alarming, and I asked if she could at least take a look and possibly recommend any medication in the meantime. At that point, the doctor responded in a dismissive manner and said, "I don't want to try like your Indian doctor." I found this comment extremely inappropriate and culturally insensitive. It was hurtful and unprofessional, and it made us feel judged and unwelcome. When I asked again about the dermatologist referral, she told me a referral wasn't even necessary and that I could book directly. I'm still confused as to why I was required to come into the office if no examination was going to be done and no referral was needed. This was a very upsetting experience, especially considering the respectful care we've received from Dr. Harvey in the past. There was a clear lack of compassion and professionalism during this visit, and I believe this behavior needs to be addressed.

Currently it's been really difficult to get a same day sick appointment, but I find using Walmart Health as an urgent care for things like strep and flu testing is adequate while keeping more complex needs here with Dr. Harvey.

They have extras for kids luke free water bottles and fruit to snack on and craft carts with a helper to keep them entertained in the waiting room. The main building has a very nice gift shop and coffee/snack stand right by the main entrance. They also have security and you have to get a pass to enter the main building which I like. We went to the ER one time with my daughter and they got us right in. They brought her fidgets to play with and let her pick out snacks which made her much more comfortable and not worked up. For her regular appt they gave her a coin at the end and she could put it in a prize machine. She loved that! I am happy with her pediatrician and highly recommend this hospital for your children!

The rooms and all of the hospital are brightly, decorated to attract children and cause them to want to be here. The staff are extremely friendly, very thoughtful, very supportive and encouraging and extremely proficient in their jobs. Both…read morekids have been treated for a multitude of things over the years, including asthma, allergies, pneumonia, broken bones, anxiety/depression, injuries, covid, strep, flu, and pretty much every other thing kids get into during their lives. Every encounter has been pleasant and professional. Dr. Averitt and her entire team show compassion, patience, and a wealth of knowledge. They are quick to respond kindly to texts, phone calls, and emails. Dr. Averitt has worked tirelessly recently to help us with a tricky diagnosis.
