Disheartened by My Experience with Community Christian School
I had high hopes for Community Christian School, believing it to be the ideal place for my children to grow academically and spiritually. However, my experience with the admissions process has left me feeling disappointed and mistreated, especially given the school's foundation in Christian values.
After being awarded the AAA Scholarship, a blessing I waited over two years to receive, I was thrilled to apply for my children to attend the school. I sacrificed $280 per child for the application fees, trusting in the school's mission and vision. I was assured by Ms. Tiffany Wilson that testing scores would not affect admissions and that the process would be handled efficiently. However, something went wrong, and I was left without clarity or communication.
Despite my son's excellent performance at his current school and his lack of disciplinary issues, I was left in the dark about why his application was rejected. Calls and emails to Ms. Wilson were ignored, leaving me anxious and confused as the December 31 deadline to submit my acceptance letter to the AAA Scholarship loomed.
When I visited the school in person to seek answers, I was shocked and hurt when Ms. Wilson refused to meet with me, instead relaying through the receptionist that she would call me later--a call that never came. This lack of respect and compassion was deeply upsetting, especially as I was only seeking clarification about my son's rejection.
What's even more troubling is the feeling that if someone at the school simply doesn't like you for any reason, they will reject your child's application, regardless of their qualifications or character. This creates an unsettling sense of bias and favoritism that has no place in a Christ-centered institution.
The way I was treated does not align with the values I expected from a school founded on Christian principles. The lack of communication and disregard for my concerns made me feel belittled and dismissed. This experience has not only put my scholarship at risk but has also shaken my trust in the school as a place that upholds principles of compassion, understanding, and respect.
I hope others will carefully consider their decision before entrusting this school with their children's future. My experience was one of the most disheartening I've ever had, and I sincerely hope the school takes steps to treat families with more care, fairness, and transparency in the future. read more
