I feel torn. On one…read morehand, I adore Little Free Libraries (LFPs), so I seek to praise them. On the other hand, I had a bad experience with this particular Little Free Library's steward. After I made made multiple donations, the steward informed me she did not welcome them. So I contacted Little Free Library's headquarters. The LFP representative noted that they do not advocate censorship. This rep also noted that they can't tell stewards what to do. I brought this information to the steward, who didn't care. The steward insisted she would dispose of any further similar donations. I decided to not fight it. At least I have reviews. Alas, I hate censorship. Fortunately, other LFPs seem better.

Being the curious sort I went to investigate further and found some great stuff! I am donating books to various ones I borrow from that I would have otherwise donated to elsewhere. This cool Little Free Library was built inside a mini fridge. I stood there for a second starring…read moreat a fridge mounted on a post before I realized how truly genius this idea was. As a California boy I didn't quite appreciate Texas rain until I experienced it myself. It comes in torrents and rains buckets but sometimes only lasts for a few minutes. A fridge as a library is genius because it offers a watertight seal. No moldy books in here! Take that rain. I found a book about a South African kid who, in his teenaged years inexplicably began to become paralyzed. He was lucid and coherent for years without any way to communicate. It sounds horrible but it was an amazing read and a good reminder that I need to treat everyone with kindness and respect. There may be a lot more going on in that head than I imagine.

This public park is a recent addition to the southern end of the Manor downtown area. Should you…read moredecide to visit here you'll find about six parking spaces out front. It sits close to one of the busiest intersections in Manor and very near some train tracks. It is on south Lexington heading out of town (a.k.a. highway 973). There's really nothing in the way of amenities here except for a couple of picnic tables and a bench. Because of all the traffic, this is not a quiet space in which to gather your thoughts or appreciate any art. It is nonetheless a good spot to have lunch since there are some food trucks directly across the street. The photos included pretty much round this review out.

It's a book/reading lounge. Leave your donation at the door. BYOB, yeah, alcohol is allowed. Have books you no longer want? You can swap books here. They also have outside movie viewings. There are board games, WiFi. They're open from 7pm - 5am. It's the perfect spot for night owls that aren't into the club scene. I'm super excited to go back, chill, and get better pictures.

This is a small park located in the Lakeline Ranch subdivision. It is perhaps an acre or more in…read moresize with few amenities. Off to the side is a play area with some swings and even a share a book kiosk. At the center of a park is a paved sidewalk flanked by four benches with bushes and crêpe myrtles at the center. Otherwise, the property consists entirely of open green space and cedar trees. It's basically just a nice open space that enhances the neighborhood's overall value.

It's a cool, asymetrical, little LFL on a grassy hill near a lovely home. It was packed with a bunch of kid's books and a few adult options too. Even a really nicely bound Bible. When I realized that they did not sell buttons, I took a look around the store to familiarize myself. I found a lot of the yarn options were either not great quality or for very beginner knitters (think SUPER chunky, neon colors, brands I've never heard of, acrylic blends). Sadly, I won't be going back to Gauge.
