I arrived about 15 minutes before 9 and discovered that the class did not start until 9:30. The class was supposed to go until 3, according to the website, but the lunch break had been cut out so it could end at 2:30. I was not informed of this until the class began. Given that the instructor had my email I feel that he should have respected my time and informed me of the scheduling changes ahead of time.

In both cases, my instructor was Amer Tobing, and I wouldn't hesitate for a second before taking his course again when my certification expires. Although I've been CPR certified several times, Life Rescue offered more practical information than my previous certs. Amer's background as a firefighter and in emergency medical services shows, as he has a focused, no-nonsense attitude toward assessing an emergency situation and acting. He teaches us to think in a similar manner by addressing and hammering the most important things to know and remember. He also has a sense of humor, and is great at connecting with people, which makes his class more fun than I ever expected. But make no mistake: he takes his job and the subject matter very seriously, and doesn't let jokes overshadow or displace what is most important. I like how he spends a lot of time focusing on the reality of emergency situations vs. textbook scenarios, because there are some things that books won't tell you. Even though I had taken his class before, the second time around, he didn't let me off the hook if I could have performed something better. I really appreciated it, because it's sometimes the little things that can make a difference. Overall, it feels less like a class and more like practicing and discussing with a coach. I learned more each time, and further reinforced what I previously knew. I feel much more confident after having taken his course, would recommend it to anyone, and actually look forward to taking it again in the future.

Text materials were provided (manual) and then some (study guide, algorithms, and EKG guides) to help us pass the course. The classroom environment was spacious enough given these covid times. The facilities they provided were far more generous than other training centers I have been to. Although, I would say that parking can get tight if you wait until last minute to get to your class; and I live fairly close to the area. Con: traffic…read more As a nurse looking for an ACLS class to take for my certification I came across this place on the BaySideCPR website since it was only 30 min from my home. To get here I had to drive across the terrible traffic of university Maryland College Park and they always doing road work. So many speed camera on this stretch of road. The building is clean and offer vending if needed. This location offers many classes such as BLS, ACLS, PALS. I did my ACLS online and came to class for the hands on training. My instructor Kyle Hasting is a knowledgeable & chill dude who work at the station. All in all a good place to get your certification.
