The staff began calling as many surgeons in the area as they could in order to find one in my network and get a benefits verification for me beforehand. This is without me even asking!! They could sense my hesitation and jumped on it. Meanwhile, the dentist massaged my jaw for a good 10 minutes. She called one of her colleagues who's an oral surgeon and got his opinion and i was able to avoid surgery all together thanks to his diagnosis and my dentist's thorough massage. I am so used to begging for care and having to navigate medical situations without assistance. But here, it felt like all hands on were deck to get me care & coverage, and I didn't have to ask for anything. I cannot recommend them enough. This is how healthcare should be.

I have previously been to one of their other offices in Short Pump, it was a little out of the way for me if I needed a quick appointment during a lunch break, so when I was given the opportunity to switch to the Patterson office I jumped on it. What immediately impressed me about this new Patterson office was how clean it was and how friendly the staff is. Everyone that I encountered was genuinely very pleasant and professional. My hygienist was very thorough and did a fabulous job cleaning my teeth, in fact I think that was the best cleaning I have ever had. The dentist I saw was Dr S. Tyler Perkinson, he introduced himself to me as Tyler and was very personal and professional with a great bedside manner. He was very careful checking my x-rays to make sure he did not miss anything and we talked about a very small issue that I have with one tooth that is mostly cosmetic in nature and he put no pressure on me at all to schedule a procedure that I really don't need. That being said, I did ask how he might fix the problem and he took his time explaining the process to me and one of the friendly employees they are happily printed off a quote and let me know that insurance may or may not cover it and told me that I could call my insurance company and give them specific codes and they would make a determination if it would be covered or not, this way I would know what my out-of-pocket is, in case insurance does not cover it. The quote came on a colorful print out that broke down everything necessary to fix this issue, which was very impressive. If you have any fears about going to the dentist this office does offer sedation dentistry this is something that I do not require as I have no problems going to the dentist I find it very relaxing, it is available if needed. When I realized I had gone too long without X-rays and a cleaning I reached out to them to set up an appointment and they were able to fit me in very quickly which worked out great for me. I also was very appreciative that they are connected with the other Virginia Family Dentistry offices and the ease of transferring my records was extremely convenient, I did not have to do a thing, they did everything for me. I can definitely recommend Virginia Family Dentistry, if you live in the West End, not far from Regency Square, this is a great, convenient location.

Little story of my case, live in northern Virginia and found out Dr. Brown via my coworker, decided to give it a try and drove almost two hours to Richmond to have my my veneers done. After the first visit-initial consultation, I knew I am in a good hand who cares his patient. Dr. Brown not only gave me the options of veneers but also suggested using bonding(a much cheaper alternative). He also showed me the material and how my teeth will look like after getting all done. The office assistance Chelsea who is very friendly and most importantly very clear minded in her field of coordinating with patients need! I have to file with my insurance company and request several docs, Chelsea accommodated with my needs and arranged all in a timely manner! I had to go back with days as the bite was painful even with drinking water. I am no dentist and can not self treat. I had to go back 2 second time with a week and the dentist waving his hands in the air simply said, he can't do anything!!! When I voice my frustration. He refused me any further treatment and said I could go see a different dentist. I followed a medical practitioner's advise to preventive care and am now left with pain and suffering, neither of which I had, had gone to his office for a free dental cleaning.
