Millennium Tower Boston - Open breakdance throw down outside the M tower!

Millennium Tower Boston

Downtown

Ultimate luxury and comfort We love living at the…read moreMillennium Tower. The apartments are beautiful with 10 foot floor to ceilings windows and breathtaking views. The amenities are first rate (private dining, gym, pool etc). The staff are always there to help. We like city living and it is next to the public garden and walkable to so many interesting places including historic landmarks and theaters/shops. We traveled all over the world and this is our favorite home.

We've been living here for the past year (almost as soon as they opened)…read more The pro's - the units are just lovely with incredible views from the upper floors, high end appliances, loads of space and closets, well appointed baths etc. Staff are really great (a shout out to Maria, Stacey, Hector, Jorge, Walter, Michael etc, etc.) for the most part and it's really handy to have the services in the building including the pool (often empty!), amazing gym, restaurant/bar and the other amenities. Loving the Friday/Saturday movie options. Con's - two really stand out. First, it's just off washington street and washington street is the same as it has been for 50 years (although the titty bars are pretty much gone - the combat zone has closed down..) and most likely will continue to be - pretty seedy & dirty, lots of homeless who sadly make the nearby streets their home and crazy folks (saw one man banging his head against a building just last week - yes there was blood, yes the police were called) and the large number of drug addicts and sex offenders who make the St Francis House (a 5 minute walk away) their home. (16 level 3 sex offenders are registered there). It's really too bad. I literally don't let my teenager walk around the corner to Starbucks (less than 150 yards away) on her own as she is harassed and followed. The obvious ambiance of the big discount & "dollar" stores is another con..but hey, nothing says luxury like looking at Marshalls and TJMax when you're having a $150 tasting menu at Pabu! As they say... location, location, location. If it were just two blocks over.. The other con which only recently started is the valet service. At first it was great - cars were on time, never an issue with what showed up when, now it's kind of in shambles. Over the past 2 months, it's taking a long time to get cars, the cars are stacked up waiting to be parked,, taxis can't get through etc. No one seems to know what's going on or can provide an answer as to what is being done to fix this. I've heard "oh it's just busy right now" - but when it's happening 8 times out of every 10? "Oh, the building is full now" - doesn't that beg the question of hiring the right number of staff? Probably more disappointing is that the GM just doesn't care or at least seems not remotely interested. If I were the owner of a multi-million dollar property here (we rent, thank god), I wouldn't be very pleased. All in all, I'm glad we live here as it's a good stop-gap before our next move out of state/country, but I'd think twice before making an investment or a long-term home. And I definitely wouldn't do it with children - it's just not in a safe area.
