The doctor was warm and friendly but eventually sends you to his Nurse Practitioner, Rebecca Smith. Rebecca is uncaring and cold.

It was my my first visit with Neurosurgery One today, after having 3 doctors recommend the doctors there - either office. The front desk staff was welcoming, and it was so nice to have a simple questionnaire instead of spending time giving all my information, history, medication, etc. and having the technician and PA ask me the same questions. Since the doctor, Joshua Beckman, MD, and Nick never rushed me at any time I was able to fully discuss my situation with them. I even felt comfortable asking questions that I thought might be "dumb". I feel it's always smart to listen to what is said and to check that you heard/interpreted what they said properly. It's so easy to forget what's said in an appointment without taking a few notes at times. After a few more tests, I'll be returning to discuss my options for further treatment. For those concerned about social distancing, the waiting area is fairly large and it was not difficult to find "my own breathing space", or I could have worn a mask. Restrooms were a short walk away. I'm looking forward to working with them in the future.

She has helped us deal with minor things like rashes and pink eye as well as larger issues like a muscle injury/pain I'd been experiencing for almost 10 years. Katie quickly identifies the issue and clears it, resulting in immediate relief. Most notable is her work with my one year old daughter. Around age one my baby began experiencing extreme sleep problems. She had always put herself to sleep easily and usually sleep through the night without issue. Suddenly she was upset and difficult at bedtime and waking with a scream several times a night. I didn't know what to do or what was the cause. It was terrible and impacting my whole family. After many months of trying lots of different things, we sought Katie's help. Within two one-hour sessions my sweet girl went to bed with simply "night night Mom," and slept soundly the whole night! She's been without any sleeping problems since!! If there's something going on in your life that you can't figure out or heal I highly recommend working with Katie. You will wish you'd done it sooner!!

The cost is important to me because I am retired and pay cash (no insurance). I paid the amount and while waiting for the doctor, I was asked how I was feeling. I knew about the Depression Screening they like to charge for so I declined the screening. Then I saw Dr. Vallejo-Craig for all of 10 minutes. At the end she asked me if I had any concerns. I mentioned one and she said she would send a prescription. She also gave me a list of blood tests to perform later. To me this should all be part of the physical. While leaving, I asked if there were any other charges and was told 'No'. Then a week later I got notified of a bill for another $176. I called and was told that they must charge me for the Depression Screening even though I declined it. I was also told that they do not know why I received the additional $148 bill but that I must pay it. I have spoken to multiple people and none of them can tell me 1) why I must pay for a Depression Screening that I declined, and 2) why I am being billed the extra $148 for my physical appointment. All they do is say they will send it to be billing department for assessment. However, nothing happens and there is no one that I can talk to in said Billing Department. They say that the bill will go to collections in a few months. I do not know if Dr Vallejo-Craig is part of this problem or if it is Common Spirit's policy to pile on fees without justification or explanation. I wish I had never heard of this office.
