Nicole is amazing. The first time I ever tried acupuncture was at Common Source and after I was finished, I walked to my car and literally cried because of how great I felt. I recently went to her because I've been dealing with some health issues and dining the Western World of Medicine to not be that helpful. She can help you determine what plant medicine might helpful. I recently bought nettle, red clover and raspberry leaf. She told me how to make infusions and she is just so helpful. I am SO grateful I found Common Source. Nicole and Diane are both great and I enjoy seeing both of them! I was interested in trying acupuncture but everywhere else I checked into was very expensive. I am so grateful I found a cost effective place to receive acupuncture. It's so cool that the business provides this service on a sliding scale which makes it more accessible for patients who might not otherwise be able to afford acupuncture. I will admit I was quite unsure about acupuncture. The experience was painless, just pressure in some spots. I was also unsure about the community part. I imagined everyone sitting in a large circle and getting poked. Totally not the case. There are space dividers that give sufficient privacy. It is a super calming and relaxing place. Nicole is FANTASTIC. Very sweet, nuturing and understanding. The intake part was not awkward as sometimes doctors can be. I've sought out multiple doctors and did all sorts of tests for my case of amenorrhea (would only get my cycle when I was on vacation!). Hormones and blood tests all came out normal. Nothing but acupuncture worked! After moving to Michigan, I was looking for a new practitioner to continue my acupuncture treatments. I just had the worst experience with this provider. I only needed nutritional advise. There's no phone number to reach out to ask your questions. I went ahead and scheduled a nutritional therapy appointment for 1-hr and paid a $60 deposit to secure my spot. I had no clue they do not offer virtual appointments. Before making my decision to work with Nicole, I talked to 2 other nutritionists and they spent 15 min on the phone with me to explain how they work and to see if I am a good fit for their program. No phone conversation, nothing with Nicole just pay upfront and wait for a week. I was looking forward to this appointment. 24 hrs prior to the appointment I reached to to them to see if I will receive a zoom link and that's when they told me they do not offer any virtual app. I asked to cancel my app and refund me. Nicole didn't make a single effort to somehow accommodate me, all she said was they don't say on their website that they provide virtual app there's no internet in the facility, and she is not going to refund me because she could have made even more even not for this app. This is the worst experience ever. I just wasted my $60 for nothing. When other nutritionists talk to you for free to go over their practices, this person charges upfront and unless you cancel 48-hrs prior to the app do not refund you and will not make any effort to accommodate you if you were stupid enough to not read everything on their website to make sure there's no virtual options.This serves me a good lesson. read more

This is a great space with a fantastic practitioner. I had my first treatment the other day and felt very comfortable in the space. I hadn't done community acupuncture before and wasn't totally sure what to expect. The space is light filled, open and clean with comfortable reclining chairs and a self-service checkout that's easy to use. Nicole is awesome. I felt she really listened to what I (and my tongue) had to say about my body and situation. Her manner is warm and knowledgeable with a relaxed sense of humor. She made me feel like I was in very good hands. I'm seeing her for fertility treatments and she gave me a bunch of reading material (exercises, etc) and recommend some herbs to purchase from her that were super reasonably priced. All this and the treatments are so very affordable. I'm pretty happy that the first acupuncture I tried since relocating to Michigan is the one I'm gonna stick with. Poke poke!! read more

I've felt great all day, and I think it's because I managed to relax for nearly an hour and that's a great accomplishment. My first experience at Common Source was great! Nicole was very pleasant and skilled at her job. I arrived early and expected to have to wait awhile, but she was able to accommodate me right away. The space is very clean and professional, yet cozy. Screens between chairs allow for privacy if there are multiple clients in the room (I had my room to myself). Prices are very reasonable. Had a great first visit at Common Source! Nicole is super friendly and knowledgable. She made me feel at ease throughout the visit which made the whole experience really great. Common Source is centrally located in Kerrytown and the space is light filled and really lovely. Relaxing in the zero gravity chair during my treatment was awesome and more comfortable for me than a table (although there are table options too if that's what you prefer). Nicole is an angel and treats you like you are the only person in her world. She is very attentive and good at her work. Do yourself a favor and give this place a shot.
