From the initial planning stage to the final walk through, it is apparent how much they value their customers and stand behind their work! I highly recommend them for any and all home improvement projects!

I have never been more frustrated working with a company. I have text messages, emails, and…read morereceipts to back up everything in this review. Reef Runner handled our project unprofessionally, communicated poorly, and wasted over a year of our time. I wouldn't trust them to install a light bulb in my house. In April 2025, I contacted Reef Runner to build a steel building in my backyard. I wanted a one-stop shop and was happy to support a local business. As an active-duty military member expecting our first child, we needed the extra space. I received a quote for about $55,000 and paid a 10% deposit in May. From there, everything fell apart. Their salesperson, Jericho, almost ordered a building from a company we had specifically said we did not want to use because of its terrible reputation. That mistake alone cost months. Throughout the process, getting updates or timelines was like pulling teeth, and we constantly had to chase him for basic information. Then, in December 2025, Jericho asked when my last quote was. When I told him May, he replied, "Oh boy," and sent a revised quote for nearly $90,000. He admitted he had been collecting additional costs all along but never shared them, leaving us blindsided. I escalated the issue to the sales manager, Brian, and the owner, Gary. Both acknowledged the project had been mishandled, apologized, and assured me they would personally take over, "make us a priority", and "take care of the military." Unfortunately, nothing changed. Working with Brian was more of the same: poor communication, no timelines, and no progress. Eventually, he blamed the manufacturer for delays and even copied me on emails so I could coordinate directly. Ironically, when I contacted the manufacturer myself, we exchanged multiple emails within an hour, making it clear the communication issues weren't on their end. After roughly 15 months, Reef Runner had held my deposit and I was no closer to having a building than the day I started. I finally requested my deposit back and decided to handle the project myself. I cannot recommend Reef Runner for any project. If you're looking for professionalism, communication, and accountability, I would look elsewhere.

The work is not square, there are large gaps, has not been painted nor caulked, and fireplace is still not operable. The job began in January 2020. The last time anyone was at the site was June 2020, after repeated phone calls and inquiries. No one has returned to the work site since June. Jansen Kitchen and Bath has been paid in full for this job because of good faith handshake by contractor and the homeowner that they would return.

Process was both traumatic -- sleeping on a twin bed in a back bedroom, and gratifying--enjoying meeting wonderful craftsmen and working with Jansen, learning that we made the right choice with Jansen. Jansen did an amazing job, employing a dozen or so incredibly talented and courteous craftsmen. We got to know each of them, a few of which I list below: * Joe... the mirror guy... admitted that he'd cut the mirror a bit off plumb...and immediately said: I will recut the mirror to correct those gaps. THAT is exactly why we contracted Jansen! * Jansen office staff, especially Karen * "Interns' Stephan, Ethan, delightful to have in our home * Hugo Project Manager-- cranky, but always professional and competent: just what we needed1 * Doug Onyx * Jame/ Bubba tile * Chris #1, Josh and Jeff who worked on drywall and surface prepration * Alec moster plumber * Chris#2, the artistic, Perfectionist Painter who finished the job to such high standards! Owner Paul Jansen was a refreshing experience [especially in context of current business ethics]: honest, straightforward, competent, and a bit of psychologist with a sense of humor. ALL of the Jansen office staff helped us through the billing and payment process) were exemplary: This is how a business should work! We want Jansen to succeed even more now: for our selfish reasons [likely future contracts], and also to help our friends and colleagues to know why Jansen is more than good enough to merit a more estimate cost up front. In our case, Jansen actually refunded about $600 from the estimate cost. Jansen may seem more expensive up front, but it's the end result that one has to live with. Our new master bath is BEAUTIFUL and works perfectly! We are enjoying it every day now. Anyone needing bath and kitchen remodels and get your dreams materialized: Choose Jansen!
