The Goddard teachers and the experienced support staff are very nurturing and kind while managing and maintaining discipline in the class. But the end customer is my daughter, and she always looks forward to going to school, and I think she resents the weekends due to school not being in session :) The Goddard management is very approachable and pays attention to details, they make it a point to get to know the families in addition to the child. The facility is very well maintained, with the right amount of safety and sanitization protocols in place to keep our child safe during these COVID-19 days. We would definitely recommend Goddard to any of our friends and family. Our daughter is better child every day she comes back from Goddard, I don't know the exact magic that happens behinds those doors, but it is working. I can't put a price on that...

In our case, we got one last spot for our 2 month old daughter (then) and she started the school the following week. I remember first walking into the school and taking the tour appreciating its beautiful building, playground and classes. During our tour, an older kid walked into the office and gave a hug to one of the directors. It was such a great sign. Not only that kid loved the school, teachers but also directors in the front office. Since 2017, Goddard school in Herndon has been a part of our life. My older one graduated from Goddard school in 2022. She always had amazing teachers around her who not only cared for her but also loved her. Even today when we go to pick up our younger daughter, our older daughter still hugs those teachers (many of them are still here which is so unique for the school). I should mention my daughter had Ms. Padmini as a teacher who is a Computer Engineer turned to educator. One morning, when I was dropping my daughter off, I heard Ms. Padmini teaching signs using alpha, beta, delta. Now, Ms. Padmini designs the curriculum for the entire school. The kids are in great hands with her. They are truly getting STEAM focused education. Ms. Marilynn has been a caring, energetic and wonderful administrator. Last winter, one evening my car just would not start because of battery issues. Ms. Marilynn stayed with us until my husband arrived to make sure we were okay. I don't know a whole lot of people who would do this but having her in this school has given me comfort that my daughters are in a caring place. Ms. Abha has been excellent owner of this school. As a former preschool teacher herself, she brings a wealth of experience. She has brought very practical changes/enhancements to the school. It is no wonder that school gets voted to be the one of the best schools in this area. I would highly recommend this school. Thanks to the amazing education at this school, my kids turned social, friendly, and confident. They look forward to going to their respective schools and are progressing by leaps and bounds. What else can one parent ask for!

The curriculum strikes a great balance between academics and play, and the updates we receive throughout the day give us real peace of mind. I have never taken the time to write a review which indicates how strongly I feel about providing…read morethis one. I started my daughter in Winwood at Reston when she was around 5 months old. I would have put her in this school from the beginning had there been a spot for her but knowing what I know now, I am not surprised that there was a waiting list. I had my child in another school when she was 10 weeks old until we moved her to Winwood. From the first day that I brought her to Winwood, I saw an actual difference in her. At the end of the day when I picked her up, she was very alert and engaged. I could tell she had been actively engaged by the teachers and environment all day. So what makes it so great? Here is my top list of reasons: 1. The teachers are WONDERFUL! They truly treat your child as their own. They also help new parents like myself navigate the different development stages (such as rolling over, crawling, using a sip cup to using a regular cup, sharing, etc...). 2. The facility itself is warm and inviting and each class room is well laid out, maintained and decorated. My daughter goes into the classroom and immediately gets immersed in something. 3. They have solid security features. They have a passcode to get into the building, a check in/out system and security cameras in all of the rooms that parents and family members can view. The grandparents LOVE being able to peek in on her throughout the day! 4. The curriculum. I know my daughter is less than 2 but she has learned sign language, animals and their sounds, colors, and more. I love that she gets to play but is also getting educated! 5. The level of communication with the parents. I love the consistent emails and newsletters from the administration and teachers. 6. And finally did I mention the teachers!!!!!! They are all so wonderful. Just when I thought I would never be able to like her next set up teachers better than the ones in her last class room, I always have. We sent our first child to Curious Kids with Suma and happily sent our second.  We really like that…read moreSuma cooks meals for the kids (centers cater their food), and we like the smaller group size (12 kids) compared to centers.  There's a separate room with 4 cribs for the infants (under age 1) to sleep in, so the sleeping environment is better than at centers too.  Her 2 employees have been with her a long time, so there's continuity for the kids.  She also supports early potty training, so she let our daughter go without diapers at 23 months (something that many centers won't allow).   I remember that once at a Halloween party Suma threw for the kids, she said that she loved our kids like they were her own and while it made me happy to hear that, I wasn't sure I believed it.  But now that Covid-19 hit, I really do believe it.  Even after she closed, she scheduled weekly Zoom calls so the kids could see their friends.   My daughter kept asking to see Ms. Suma, and she let us come by her home and say hi (from a safe distance), and said she missed us and we could visit anytime.  These were things she didn't have to do, especially since we aren't paying her.  Ultimately, isn't that what we all want from a daycare?  Someone who will love your kids like their own?

The food that Ms Suma offers is healthy with all fruits and vegetables I am happy with his nutrition while he's there .. if not for Ms Suma I would have waited forever to potty train my son.. she did train him very well so it was easier to follow Ms Suma's suggestions and get going!
