The Audie Murphy Museum is one of those landmarks you pass through Greenville off I-30. This is a wonderful informative museum. A very special place that lends a glimpse into the life of not only a hero that needs to be remembered & the most decorated soldier of WWII. It features one of the largest privately owned collections of U.S. veteran and actor Audie Murphy. There is a tribute wall to those currently serving the military from this area. I'm very glad we stopped. The Cotton Museum is interesting which I thoroughly enjoyed for my father retired from the Cotton Council. Much of the museum preserves the local history too. The museum just added a rare collection of personal items that belonged to Desmond Doss (Hacksaw Ridge), Gen. George C. Marshall, Gen. George S. Patton, Gen. Jimmy Doolittle, Audie Murphy, Adm. John D. Bulkeley, Maj. Richard I. Bong, and Cmdr. David McCampbell. I really enjoyed the exhibit. Highly recommend, you won't regret it!!

Farming history, period clothing, a 1906 Cadillac, and all sorts of displays. The Audy Murphy section includes not only things about his life and exploits but also many military displays covering the World Wars, Korea, and Vietnam. The museum sits off westbound I-30 and the entry fees are nominal. If time allows, make the stop and enjoy a well put together museum.

Of course I didn't notice this until I got home from work, after they conveniently closed for the day, so I couldn't shower that night or the next morning. Lovely. A month later, they turned off my water again due to failure to pay...only the reason I hadn't paid them was because they sent my bill to the wrong address, because they forgot to update it in their system the time I was there previously. Then, they charged me a $30 activation fee to have my water turned back on, which was only turned off in the first place because of their own screw-up. My experience with City Hall, through less than 2 months living here, has been that the entire program is a pile of incompetent Mickey Mouse BS.

You'd think by now a Starbucks would of sprang up where it now sits but there it is. Standing like a big F you to all that clammering over growth. It's a bit snaky and don't go two steppin across blindfolded or you'll def fall through the rotted ties. But ain't it grand to imagine those billowing iron horses rumbling across it?!?!!!! It's freaking beautiful no matter what condition it's in. Time forgotten time piece. If you go there notice the bridge line closer to the 75 service road. That line was the Texas Electric Railway. It was built AFTER the bigger bridge and it went out of service around 1948. Dart bought the line just to the south.
