Everything's bigger in Texas except, perhaps, this. My third Eiffel Tower after the original one in Paris and the one in Las Vegas*. This is a really cool landmark, but there's not much to it. What you see in the photos is what you get. A miniature Eiffel Tower with a big cowboy hat perched on top. It is in a little plaza set off on the side of the big Civic Center parking lot. It is tidy and well-kept with good signage and info about the tower and its' short history. There is a veterans' memorial park right next to it, which was respectful and very well done. It seems to be a popular stop. While I was there, a steady stream of folks was stopping in to look and take selfies. If you are passing through the area it is definitely worth the little side trip to see it. This is a fun place to stop when you're in Paris, TX. It was a beautiful time of year when we went, with fresh rain in the air. The flowers look nice during this time. This was a cool little tourist destination. It's fun just to say that you went. I was there on a summer day where it was over 100 degrees out, and there were still plenty of people lined up to take their photo. The actual tower is quite small. It's 1/6th the size of the original Eiffel Tower and the nearby radio tower that was twice the height of the "Eiffel" tower here lent a very anti-climactic feel to the whole affair. There's a map of Texas carved in stone beneath the tower with the town of Paris highlighted in the northeast corner. read more

this is unquestionably the best Eifel Tower in Tejas. coming in a little less than 1:10 scale this structure has seldom been the subject of scrap metal scams, leaping lovers, or films noir but it has been the target of mean spirited ridicule by hordes of tiny brained people for most of a century... a bit of whimsy in east Tejas that easily rates a dosey-doe if not a full-on whirl because, well, you know... there's a Stetson® on top. there doesn't appear to be any provision for human access or occupancy (which is probably a good thing) and I'm not sure why there isn't a postcard vending machine out front... but it is Paris and you'll feel just as out of place here as anywhere else. read more

Fun little thing to see if you are in the Paris, Texas area. We happen to be so we found the Eiffel Tower. Had to have an Eiffel Tower in a town if you are named Paris. Everyone would ask where is the Tower so they can say yes we have a Tower too. Just pull in the parking lot and there it is. No lines just 2 other cars there the day we stopped. Not as big as the French one but this one has a red cowboy hat on top. Only in Texas. There is also a Red River County Veteran Memorial set up right next to the tower if you want to look around a bit. read more

We were on one of our road trips around Texas visiting County Courthouse's and other items and landmarks along the way. I've seen Paris' Texas Eiffel Tower on other travels, but never stopped. Some we were going to be in Paris we put the Paris, Texas Eiffel Tower on our things to see list. I guess they moved out and re-did it because it don't look anything like the one I've seen before!!! It's Ina Park and memorial area now when I remember it being on the road coming into town. It bears a little resemblance to the one in France but this one is a lot smaller and topped with a Red Texas Cowboy hat ! It's a good photo op, but don't expect the huge Tower you think it might be. There were a lot of people in and around waiting for there turn to get pictures under it. Our 6 year old took a great picture of my wife and I!!! She told him he had to get the hat in the picture and he took several before he made us stop so he could get the hat on the tower in the picture!!! He did do great!!! read more

Two big thumbs up for the city of Paris, Texas. We ended up here for the solar eclipse since the weather forecast seemed to favor Paris over places further south. We drove in at the last minute, without having done much research on this location and were so impressed by the preparation and kindness of the people in Paris. There was plenty of parking around the Eiffel tower/community center area with local police and sheriffs directing traffic. The city had set up a large number of portable toilets and booths selling food and commemorative shirts. Every visitor was invited to mark on a map where they came from and was warmly welcomed. There was an information booth for answering questions. In another location downtown big boards had been set up that were painted with the place, date and time in totality perfect for pictures. Bonus points for playing "Total eclipse of the heart" and "here comes the sun" when the sun broke through the clouds and the eclipse became visible. The weather in Paris came through and we had the perfect viewing conditions for all of the 4 minutes of totality and most of partiality. After the event, we experienced no traffic jams leaving town. The Eiffel tower was a cute roadside attraction, the cowboy hat was a nice touch. I can now say that I visited both Paris, France and Paris, Texas in the same year. read more

Hey, we were in Paris, TX Y'all so we just had to stop and stretch our legs and kind of giggle at the tower. Loved the hat on the top. I didn't even know that the tower was there until we saw it on The Texas Bucket List. Now I can say I've marked another thing off of my bucket list. This is just a neat place to visit, but the added military portion is just awesome! So many people, so much history and education. 7 generations in one part. Was really neat to walk around and the building had clean and cool restrooms in the Texas heat. Will definitely bring the kiddos for a history lesson. read more

Oui, oui! Tres bon! Who needs France?! We've got our own Paris deep in the heart of Texas! Why deal with the snooty French, when you can have the friendly hospitality of Texas? Save yourself the trip to France and see this replica. This slightly smaller version of the Eiffel Tower is in our very own Paris, a small northeast Texas town. Our version is decked out with a snappy red cowboy hat, which makes it clearly superior. Put away your Euros, it's free to visit. However, you can't go up in the observation decks. It's next to a Veterans Memorial park, which is a nice place to have a chance to take in the Parisian scenes. Picasso was a big fan of Paris, I can see why. When the original Eiffel Tower was built, people thought it was a monstrosity, and was called an eyesore. But it grew on the French after a while. If they'd topped it with a cowboy hat like we did, it would've been popular from the start, like ours. Parking is easy along this Parisian boulevard that runs by this monument in a town square. read more

I saw a picture of this in a friend's Instagram feed and since I was driving through Texas, decided that I must see this. Only, it wasn't anywhere along my route, so I had to drive four hours out of my way (round-trip) to get here. Paris, TX is a super small town with some charm, but not a whole lot to do. Which was fine because my objective was just to see the Eiffel Tower with a cowboy had. When I arrived, I must admit I was a bit underwhelmed. This tower is really not to scale, and not as intricate a thing as I was imagining in my mind. And the tower is not really an attraction in and of itself... it's more of an afterthought to adorn a veterans' cemetery and memorial. So while you can do it, having a picnic in front of it is not really something to be encouraged. Having said that, I am a big fan of tacky, corny, Americana, and this certainly qualifies. Despite being initially underwhelmed, I couldn't help but smile while looking at the hat on top of the tower, and I stood there admiring it for sometime. Depending on how much you enjoy road side oddities, this may or may not be worth your time. For me, driving four hours out of my way to see something truly novel was well worth the payoff of standing in front of this tower for about 15 minutes in the Texas summer heat and then driving back. For those more rational among us, perhaps the trek out here won't be worth it unless you have some business in Paris. To me though, this is a fun half-day trip from Dallas. read more

This is on the kitschy side of Americana, kind of like the World's Biggest Ball of Twine or Lenny the Chocolate Moose. You go there for the humor. I didn't feel like making the same old drive on the interstate that we take when visiting family, so we decided to take some back roads which meant we would go through Paris. So we couldn't miss the opportunity to see the Eiffel Tower! On the way we kept seeing things that we thought might be it, but they would turn out to be signal towers or some such thing, and as it turns out they were MUCH bigger than what we were looking for. We knew it wouldn't be very big, and I repeatedly stressed this to the kids so they wouldn't be let down. But even so, when we came around the curve and saw it, I broke out into laughter. It is not impressive at all! But it is cute, and it is funny with the cowboy hat on top. The pictures you see of it make it look bigger than it really is. If you're passing through town, stop and get the cheesy picture to post to Instagram, but DON'T travel to Paris just to see it. read more

We drew up a document, in pencil, and agreed to meet at the Eiffel Tower when we were adults. We picked a particular date (it was a few months ago) and figured we'd be meeting in Paris, France. Something fun to go see while in Paris, TX It's right next to the Love Civic Center and not to far from one of the entrances to the Trail de Paris. At tight the city lights it up with different colored light scheme, which was cool to see once. Its not nearly as tall as the one in Paris France or the one in Las Vegas. I think it comes in around 65 ft. tall. read more
