Colonial was fine, they gave me a loaner and a clean car back, and talked me out of some maintenance I really didn't need. They also noticed that the alignment was off and re-did it. About 400 miles out on our trip a week later, the car was drifting to the left noticeably-- not pulling so nothing dire, but it surprised me since we'd had it checked recently. I figured road conditions or something minor might have affected it. So after returning I called Colonial and asked them if they could take a look and realign if necessary. Here's where the rubber met the road for me. The car was out of alignment again, and there's nothing apparently wrong with the front end. They had the car for an hour checking and realigning-- and didn't charge for it. I did not expect any kind of warranty on an adjustment, but there it is. They even washed the car! I'll definitely be back, so far truly five stars.

When I took it to another mechanic, I showed them the receipts and parts I had purchased for the repair. The new mechanic pointed out that some of the old parts were still on the car meaning the new parts I paid for were never installed. That raised serious concerns: Did Linton keep the new parts for personal use and just take the money? I asked for a refund, and he only gave back $400 despite doing no real work and leaving my car in worse condition. I lost $1,100 and had to pay another shop to replace my engine properly. As a teacher with no second income, this was financially and emotionally devastating. I trusted him because he worked in a shop but that trust was a costly mistake. Please get a second opinion if you've had work done by Linton or plan to. I'm now requesting the remaining $1,100 refund, which is more than fair considering the damage and dishonesty. The service advisor took the time to explain the tread measurements and why replacement was recommended, which I appreciated. They were able to apply a promotional deal and coupon to help lower the cost, although replacing four tires was still a significant expense. Despite that, I felt the recommendations were reasonable and the staff was transparent throughout the process. The visit took a little longer than expected, but the associate I worked with was helpful and kept me informed along the way. Overall, the service met my expectations, and I appreciated the thorough inspection and professionalism from the team.

Fixed the steering with a quick belt change and tighten (after another garage had told us the struts needed replacing) and finally found another small issue that had been causing some odd noises - despite me forgetting to mention it when dropping the car off. Called me to confirm before starting any work, and again when the car was ready. That was two months ago, and the car's been flawless. Very happy! Even AAA doesn't know how to remedy the situation at this point. I should've followed my instincts and had AAA tow it to my usual reliable tire place a few blocks away from the start. Note that I am a real consumer, not the usual shill who is really the owner, employee, or someone who gets paid to post fake five star reviews for crooked companies. Unlike most if not all other car repair joints, Kelley's owners genuinely care about their customers. Try them and you will see what I mean. Kelley's always keeps their promises and gets repairs done on time at the quoted prices. Their rates are the same as everyone else's but you will end up saving a fortune because they only do necessary repairs and often discourage repairs if it is in the best interest of the customer. I have never seen any other auto repair shop do that. Just this week, I told Eric that I would be willing to pay more than $2,000 to fix my old car but he talked me out of that extensive work and into a mere $360 fix, which by the way worked and even got the "Check engine" light to turn off, an unexpected and wonderful bonus! Kelley's has ASE-certified mechanics and cutting-edge equipment, so you cannot beat their expertise and effectiveness. The neighborhood is safe and clean. There are many million dollar houses within a block of the shop! My one complaint is that you are required to make an appointment two or more days in advance because they have such a loyal following. But overall, you ain't gonna beat Kelley's with Aaron Judge's bat. All claims made in this review can be verified by getting estimates from Kelley's and two other ASE-certified shops for the same repair. Kelley's will always be competitive and likely be the cheapest due to their refusal to do unnecessary repairs, which is how most shops make a killing.
