We walked in a few minutes before closing. The man on staff (assuming he was the owner) was clearly perturbed. I explained I had not been in a comic shop for many years and just wanted to look around for a few minutes. I quickly picked up a couple of books with the intention of purchasing. However, less than two minutes after walking in, the man says "we're closed now, you have to go." It was very uncomfortable and a bit sad for my daughter. I set the books down and we left. Granted, the man may have had plans. Maybe he was pressed for time? Or, he was just not very nice. are better ways to handle this situation. What is it about business owners that think they are doing customers a favor by being in business. If you're a comic book fan in Chicago's Northwest suburbs, I recommend you find another shop.

Everything is $1 in the bins and there's a VIP section where everything was $20 which had some furniture and appliances. Some of the bins were still labeled $3 which was confusing but I think they were actually $1. I left with and armful of things and paid ~$9. Some things were well worth the $1, some were not. Apparently on the different days they charge a different price and have more valuable merchandise out. They have a no opening box rule but I don't think anyone abides by it because it seemed like they also had a no return rule. They have a limited amount of shopping carts available, it does get pretty packed and is difficult to move around especially with a shopping cart. I definitely saw people working in teams to load up their carts. The line gets pretty long too and sort of snakes through the bins so I sort of did a walkthrough and picked up some stuff and then waited in line and also did some more deep diving while waiting (would have been helpful to have someone in line while another did the diving). Was it worth the 40 minute drive? No, definitely not. Maybe if you're looking for the more expensive electronics, come on one of the pricier days, and from what I've read come super early then maybe. Definitely don't come if you hate crowds.

These guys had prints that I haven't been able to locate at other shops, and everything was extremely well organized. Books were in great condition, and the staff were so kind and helpful. Very much a "reader's" comic shop, but they have tables set up for your D&D game or Magic or really whatever your fancy is. Best of all, the prices are fair, and you'd be hard pressed to find a better value in the area. I'll definitely be back. I would die for more time to dig through their back issues.

First, their store credit policy makes no sense: you can't use it on "premium" items, which defeats the purpose of having store credit at all. On top of that, when I sold them some premium Magic: The Gathering cards, the prices I was given were for the wrong versions. Because I had my three kids with me at the time, I didn't notice until later, but it felt dishonest and not worth the argument. What bothered me most, though, was how they treated me as a newer customer. I stood waiting for about 15 minutes with my kids while staff ignored me to casually chat and eat with tournament patrons who weren't even doing business at the time. They had recognized me, but still dismissed me while I was clearly trying to complete a transaction. It made me feel like my time -- and my business -- weren't valued. Most of the staff were nice, but the older bald gentleman was rude and dismissive, which really stood out. Between the poor credit rules, the card pricing issue, and the way I was treated as a customer, I can't recommend Thunder Comics. If they want to encourage more sales and playtime in their store, they should focus more on being fair, welcoming, and attentive -- especially to new customers

We came specifically to look at funko pops which they had a decent amount of. Most were commons but priced extremely fair. The organization of them could have been a bit better. The staff members were friendly and helpful. Definitely make it a point to stop out if you're looking for collectable items!

No one was there and you and your partner didn't even say hello when we came in. And this is not the first time. The other times I ignored it, but when my kid's interest and obsession is dismissed, you'll end up with no customers. I know you have kids and wouldn't want them to be ignored, dismissed, or talked down to. My kid loved coming to this store but it's one of many, and last visit was our last. The owner has an attitude problem because one day he's all happy and acts like you're a family. And the next day he's rude and brushing off kids' questions and interests. Was very upset when my kid asked a question about some collectible products and the owner rudely brushed him off. My kid was very upset and so disappointed.
