The owner of this establishment is rude and unprofessional. The owner treats you as though you will never buy anything so why are we there so we left while he bashed me publicly for leaving a poor review. Im not the only one who has been treated in such a way if you look at his goigle reviews he has a habit of bashing his customers. On top of this being one of many failed locations. His positive reviews are made from different locations with different pictures that do not accurately depict his shop. You will see if you ever go but I deffinately do not recommend doing so, it's a waste of time. His selection is poor and he sells free comic book day books for a masive upcharge some for 20+ $. He buys cards but super undercuts you as a customer for example you have a card worth $40 he will only offer you $10 in store or $1.25 cash whitch is no value at all he actively rips people off as well as treats potential customers and customers like they are uneducated, stupid, badicly like he knows everything and you know nothing. Large selection of comics new and old. As you can probably imagine by the name of the entity, this is their focus. However, a great deal of disorganization is found quickly, and if you're there for anything else, it is behind the counter and cannot be analyzed further without waiting in line (the same line as the checkout) to ask about anything. Probably wouldn't go back, but if specifically comic books are your thing - this is your place! If you're after the "plus" there are better stores. read more

Comic shop plus is a Comic and Game shop that has been around for more than 25 years in Newark OH. The staff is friendly and personable and are always willing to give a review or point out a game/comic book/gaming accessory. Jeremy and Zak are two of the clerks and they always have a "Hey! Hello! How are you?" when you come through the door. The store is well stocked with table-top RPG books and accessories, current and back issues of all the great comic books, card games and accessories, and miniatures. If they don't have it, they have a great relationship with their distributor and can get it for you in a relatively short period of time. The store is always clean and neat, with plenty of table space for any of the myriad of games you might like to play there. They keep some snacks and drinks on hand for sale, but are also close enough to several different restaurants to make it easy. Currently (as of 07/15/2012) they have a punch card program - 1 punch for every $25 spent, and 6 punches gets you a $25 gift certificate. I've been coming to Comic Shop Plus since the Summer of 2010 on a fairly regular basis. My friends had just gotten into the trading card game Magic: The Gathering and they took me to CSP to learn the basics. Since then I've always found the environment to be inviting and friendly. I'm greeted by name at the door. There is always some one there playing some sort of game or reading a comic/graphic novel. Since it's a small business they really value their customers and offer great deals whenever they can. This was/Is my Friday Night Destination. The employees and the people who frequent Comic Shop Plus are what make it so great. read more

CSP used a great place to hang out, play Magic or whatever else. Now it's just a complete bore; the manager is rude, gives short, one-word answers and treats customers like they're a nuisance. I'll never go back there. If you want to play at a place where the employees actually appreciate their customers, go to Bargain Box in Newark. read more
