When they see family members come in, they act like they're super caring, but I've caught them several times ignoring the residents. Most of the residents look beat up and bruised from falling because they weren't being watched. The staff are thieves. Management could care less about anything. And your nickel and dimed for everything, you think you pay one price but your bill is several thousand dollars a month more. I was told one thing several times, but they never stick to their word they do what they want. I've never met a bunch of more uncaring people in my whole entire life. My parents were barely there for three weeks and couldn't wait to run away from that place as fast as possible. Don't fall for their bullshit.

It was good for quite a while, but now (Fall 2019) it is in turmoil. It is woefully understaffed (does it even meet code?). They can't retain people at any level, from primary caregivers to department managers. Pay levels and how staff is treated are both issues. The facility is nice, opening in 2016, but their management has taken a serious turn for the worse. The ownership of this facility is Morningstar Senior Management of Denver, CO. They provide no e-mail address, no complaint channel via e-mail, web or telephone, and no one on their executive team will either take a phone call or return a message. Sadly, we are going to look for another facility.

The director of the facility, Traci Victor, has given me access to her phone number, and the communication is great. She prefers communication via texting, as it allows for faster response time. The facility is on the smaller side, with 10 residents calling the property home. However, because of the smaller patient size, it allows for a more favorable patient to staff ratio. The kitchen is an open concept adjacent to the main game/TV room. Food is prepared daily, good quality & nutritious. The portions may appear small, but residents are mostly elderly & that fits with their lifestyle. My husband has his own private room with an accompanying bathroom (consisting of a toilet & sink) The shower is across the hall, which is appropriate for safety & assistance. There is a very nice "Sun Room" facing a very large backyard. I have seen residents enjoying said room, & meals are done with socialization with other residents. My husband prefers his meals to be served on the couch in front of the main TV using a table with wheels. Medications are coordinated & dispensed. I feel blessed to have Dr Talisa Adkison MD, reviewing his needs monthly. She is truly a saint & spent more than 30 minutes interviewing him. Her office staff is also exemplary . If I need to call, someone will pick up, which is convenient for me, as I reside out of State. Dr Adkison will either respond herself, or direct staff of her intentions. Dr is the physician for most of the other residents. Holidays are festive, & Traci has the facility decorated to reflex the season. Traci has given special interest to my husband during Christmas & his birthday. He is a fan of the San Francisco Giants baseball team, & she was thoughtful enough to gift him a hat of said franchise for his birthday. He has spoken of this gift frequently, & it gives him much comfort & pleasure. This is of much amazement on my part due to his dementia & short term memory loss. I highly recommend Biltmore Assisted Living for loved ones experiencing issues with memory loss & cognitive decline. The facility is a thorough, safe & clean environment. They have preformed a difficult job to a high standard.

Residents eat on a terrace overlooking beautiful grounds. Tracy, the certified house manager, was outstanding in keeping the home spotless and meeting the needs of the residents. My mom adored Tracy and her little dog, Wilkie. Linda was a warm soul who took care of medications and also enjoyed cooking meals for the residents. To have my mom pass away in a place where she was never lonely, felt loved and respected, was a gift. For that our family is grateful. However, I like transparency. It shows integrity and character. Mike, the co owner is very friendly at first but I feel he was intentionally trying to pull the wool over our eyes. Regarding deposit money, we would have placed our mom there anyway, so there was no reason to be deceitful. Make sure to read contract carefully and get a copy as soon as you sign. I did not get a copy and I noticed 500.00 move in fee and $500.00 administrative fee. We weren't charged those nor had I ever seen them on my contract. I think the fees were typed in after the fact. Mike, (Mihai Ilioi) the co-owner, knows that placing a loved one in an assisted living home is an emotional time for family. Many of us aren't thinking as clearly. So Read the Contract carefully, take your time, do not be rushed and get a copy right then and there. You have the right to make an informed choice.

It's also a great location just east of Scottsdale on Shea. The apartments themselves are a great size and the entire facility is clean and vibrant. Yesterday, I went to visit them and have lunch with them at their facility's restaurant. From the moment I walked in, I marveled at how new and beautiful everything looked. There was even a slight smell of fresh paint to add to the newness. The decor in the lobby was gorgeous and upscale, with high ceilings, inventive light fixtures, and lots of seating. The restaurant offers sit-down service. They have daily specials and a soup of the day. They had a good variety of sandwiches, salads, soups, and desserts for lunch. The brownie was my favorite part of the meal. It was decadent! This facility allows for small pets. There is a dog run area outside. There's also a heated pool and a gorgeous seating area outside with a large television mounted on the wall. My friend showed me the activity schedule. They offer many fitness and enrichment classes, such as art classes in the art studio. There are also bridge, rummikub, and mahjong groups that meet on a regular basis. This facility is not yet at 100% capacity. I would definitely recommend booking a tour if you are in the market for retirement living, assisted living, or memory care.

That home is conveniently located within minutes of the other 3 Arcadia homes. All of these homes are beautifully designed and have great amenities for their senior residents. I was also impressed with the on-site caregivers at each of the homes. They are caring, concerned and committed to serve their residents. When I visited the home at 4602 E. Camelback Rd., I had a chance to meet a daughter of one of the residents. She raved about the care her Mother has been receiving there and the variety of activities Vista offered to her Mother and the other residents. We spoke in the backyard of the Camelback Rd. house which has Camelback Mountain in the near background. Wow, what a nice amenity. The 3 other homes also offer a great view of Camelback Mountain, especially the newest house in Paradise Valley. I would clearly recommend the Vista Living Senior Care group of homes to anyone looking for a place for their senior loved ones to live.

However, it is very outdated, worn and tattered, mismatched and extremely dusty and has been left to fall apart. Light fixtures broken and shades torn, outlet covers broken and missing, a blow up bed in an old massage room that is being counted as a bedroom, bunk beds in an old garage, appliances that do not work and a stove that will crush your feet if you don't hold it open. This place has an amazing amount of potential, the space is huge and great for large gatherings but EVERYTHING needs to be updated. I prefer towels in my bathroom, not paper towels left on the sink and I certainly want my carpets vacuumed, counters cleaned and dusted and comforters washed or replaced after each guest so I don't smell the previous guests greasy hair. I really wanted to like this place but each day brought more disappointments and unkempt attributes. If you are coming for work, request the 5G wifi, because the regular wifi was always cutting out. The view is unbeatable! The location is great! I really hope the management/owners invest in updating this because we would come back, but as it is now, I would not recommend this to anyone.
