My mother lived here for several years; in fact she was their first resident. The owner, Beth and her husband are wonderful, caring people and they ensure they spend time with all of the residents individually. The house is kept clean and very sanitized. Unfortunately they are not on site most of the time.
The reason I am giving it two stars is because throughout my mother's stay there which was several years, the caretakers were NEVER held to a higher level of care. The vast majority were CONSTANTLY on their phones and even spoke another language to each other while ignoring the residents. They were never cruel, but, their phone conversations both verbally and through texting Always was their number one priority and this lasted throughout their shifts; not just during their lunch or break. I would visit throughout the day and this was never the case when the owners were there, but, if the owner really cared she would have ensured this type of behavior wasn't constantly occurring if only by watching the cameras they have on site.
The caretakers didn't want the patients in their way while cleaning or working in the kitchen; they wouldn't converse with the residents. They told the patients to leave them alone. I witnessed this.
The food could certainly be better too. I was always amazed when I saw my mother get half of a sandwich with only one piece of lunch meat on it and yet when the caretakers ate their dinner I actually saw them eating steak and steamed vegetables and the only vegetable my mother had with her half of a sandwich came in the vegetable can soup that was served.
I don't take writing this negative review lightly and I can only pray the owner and her husband will change this terrible neglect. read more
