I went to this office beginning of February I needed A tooth extracted and a replacement everything went great they took an xray of my mouth on the side where the issue was and they said I also had a cavity and after the extraction they would fill it , the day I returned they refused to fix my cavity until I took xrays of the rest of my mouth , I said but your the one that told me I had cavity because you saw it , I didnt see it . I had a traumatic experience with my previous dentist, which caused me to delay finding a new one for two years. After extensive research, I chose Comfortable Care Dental. Dr. Hamrick is excellent, thorough and dedicated to her work. She was compassionate and understanding about my anxiety. I had a cracked tooth that was at risk due to my delay, but Dr. Hamrick successfully saved it. Throughout the procedure, she made me feel comfortable and explained everything she was doing, which reduced my anxiety. I have almost completed my treatment plan and I am pleased with the results. Unbelievable. I first went in for a cleaning and that cost me a ton of money out-of-pocket with insurance because I was told I needed a periodontal cleaning. Ok. I was then told my fillings needed replaced, got the sky-high quote and agreed to do it but had the sense to split it between 2025 and 2026 to spread the cost because again it was a crap-ton out of pocket, after insurance. Today I go in thinking I am getting a twice a year cleaning. They present me with a quote for $327 out-of-pocket after insurance. For what, a cleaning? No, they say I need the periodontal cleaning again, which I just did 6 months ago and have never needed before from any dentist I have seen. I tell her absolutely not I don't need that and she returns to tell me the regular cleaning would be $250 out-of-pocket. WHAT???:!!! Are you insane? Basic annual cleanings are 100% covered as preventative care so why do I have to pay anything? She then states my insurance only covers half. Yep, half of of the over priced-gouging rate they are charging. If they didn't rake you over the coals and gouge you it would be 100% covered. Be warned they do good work, BUT you will pay through the nose for something I am sure is just as good but covered and affordable elsewhere. To start with the dentist who didn't even show me my x-rays told me I had multiple cavities. I called them and had my x-rays emailed to me and had a friend up in Pennsylvania. Look at them, and they said no I do not have any cavities. I do have a lot of fillings, which is probably what she wanted to do. Replace all those fillings!!! my insurance covers a cleaning and exam, but they would not except what my insurance paid them, so they wanted $40. I do not recommend this dental practice. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. They only want you as a customer if they can up sell you services you do not need. They are beyond unethical. I went to my regular dentist a few months ago and after my visit I found out my long time dentist was now out-of-network from my insurance company. So I went to these guys and they tried to up sell me for $99 on things I did not need. What is worse is some of the up sell could actually cause harm to my teeth and gums. During my exam the oral hygienist kept trying to convince the dentist and me that I have had gum disease in the past and had deep cleanings in the past which would be to treat gum disease. I kept telling them I have never had gum disease or any deep cleanings in my life, but they kept assuring me that I have had them. I researched everything online and contacted my longtime dentists both here in Florida and back in California and both my dentists who have taken care of me for over 15 years said that was crazy. They assured me I have never had gum disease or any deep cleanings and did not need those procedures. Once you get a deep cleaning or start periodontal cleanings you need to keep having them for the rest of your life. I asked if they would just give me the basic cleanings I have had my entire life and they said they wouldn't. This would be a good call on their part if I had gum disease because basic cleanings would not work, but being I do not have gum disease their actions are highly unethical. It is not about the money for me it is about unethical decisions being presented to me and when I showed them I know they are unethical they told me to go back to the dentist who I had to leave. This shows they did not have my best interest in mind if they are claiming I needed the up sell then when I did not want it they told me to go to a place that would not require me to get the up sell procedures. By their own words they are showing they do not care about any of us as customers unless they can make extra money off us regardless of the harm they will cause. I am a LEVEL 8 GOOGLE guild and a YELP ELITE with well over 10,000 reviews and I have over a decade of experience evaluating businesses. Most of my reviews are 4 or 5 starts. You have to be pretty bad to get a 1 star from me. Bottom line is stay way from this place. There are plenty of ethical dentist in the area. Don't forget to write a review with your experience and report them. They should not be practicing dentistry and if it is just the dental hygienist they need to find more ethical ones. I started coming to this office over 3 years ago for my regular cleanings and check ups. I'm very picky as I was a Dental assistant for 13 years previously. So, I'm probably not the easiest patient. That being said they have continued to exceed my expectations. The office is very clean & they make sure everything is sanitized. I absolutely love Dr. Vasquez she makes you feel very comfortable & she's just awesome! I started taking my daughter when she was 2 because it's a family practice. Not only does my daughter LOVE "Dr. Vas-quazzz" but she actually enjoys getting her teeth cleaned. I had to give a star but would not even bother the way they have treated our family with multiple cancelled and delayed appointments. Our son flew in from out of state from college to get a retainer imprint and a cleaning, he had to leave the next day. The cleaning went fine but when he asked about the imprint for the guard he was told he needed to make another appointment - after my wife called three time to confirm that the cleaning could wait the imprint was the priority. When my wife called after bit infuriated, she was told the office did not schedule enough time to get the imprint done!! ARGHHHH!!!!! We tried one more time this week again flying him in on fall break only to hear two days before that there was a DOCTOR EMERGENCY and that we had to reschedule. Since this appointment was for late Friday afternoon, its a possibility that the DR wanted Friday afternoon off. Okay I want to update my review, because I just got my porcelain cap today and every thing went great! The staff were great and have been great every time before if I didn't mention it before. The dentist apologized for the lab's screw up with the first attempt and reassured me she made every attempt to rush the lab to get my cap. I will tell you this, I would recommend this office to my friends and family, because on the surface every one seems to be genuinely concerned about their patients. This office on 580 was very clean, modern, fresh, it had "the smell" that you look for in a clean dental office. That is about where the compliments end though. Having been to dentists all over the country, I have been to big practices and small practices and honestly I have not been to a practice as corporate as this one though. All dentists are trying to be profitable, I get that, but this one is impersonal and made me feel like they would drill every tooth in my head if they thought I'd go for it. They did this fancy tests where they call out numbers to another hygienist and it's a real show! I was waiting for her to tell me how I could spend more money and she had a disappointed and surprised tone when I wasn't a candidate for the up-sale. But then she offered me a fluoride treatment and I asked how much that was and she said $20. I learned fluoride treatments are covered under my insurance, twice a year. So that should have been free. Shame, shame. My trust was out the window by the time I saw the dentist, so I wasn't shocked to hear I needed 4 fillings and I was less shocked that they couldn't take the time to show me why, tell me the teeth, point to the teeth, show me the x-ray....show me something...anything? I was herded to the front desk to set my fillings appt and dutifully scheduled that. But I was getting a second opinion no matter what, so I cancelled when they called me to confirm my appt. Ok. I'm 6'0" and 220lbs but I HATE pain and even some dentists. :). However my first visit to this office for an extraction and implant preparation has changed my mind. First off the office is extremely clean and offers a very professional look which is important to me because I believe it represents the doctors who practice there. The staff at the front desk was incredibly helpful and patient. Once inside the medical staff saw my anxiety and did everything they could to make me feel comfortable. Dr. Vazquez (or Dr V as her staff refers to her) was like no other dentist I've seen before. She continuously made me feel comfortable and the whole procedure was pain-free from start to end. You can tell she was an absolute professional list as were all of the team members helping her I look forward to continuing my dental treatment at her office. Dr Jessica and the rest of the staff are very understanding. I also like that they have later hours and there are 2female dentist. Dr Jessica Dombroski and Dr Ann Setkowicz are friendly and nice. I was a patient here a few months ago. During this time Comfortable care dental office called me frequently to try and schedule appointments. I have an extremely busy schedule already. They got me for cleanings and fillings and after I thought all the work was done they still continued to call me to schedule more work. Now I know I may eat a little candy every once in a while but I have to say I started to feel a little suspicious about all these fillings they wanted to put in my teeth. I brush 4 times a day as it is because I have aligners in my mouth so its not like I don't take care of my teeth. Comfortable Care is a corporation. They are a business. It is obvious to me that they want to make as much money as possible off of every patient they can by the way they harassed me into going back so frequently. The dentist I was seeing no longer works here because a lot of them just come and go. I will never trust anyone under their roof again. They can harass somebody else into getting work they don't really need. It wont be me. read more
