I entered my small massage cubicle (surrounded by 3 walls and a curtain) and waited just a moment before my massage master entered. I received a full body massage - head to toe. It was extremely relaxing and comfortable. The only downfall was that, just as I was falling into a near-comatose state of relaxation, the massage masters were talking to each other (actually more like shouting). Besides the loud talking, it was a good experience overall, mostly due to the price vs quality.

The tables have very little effective padding. I liken the comfort to an army cot. My arms fell asleep when hanging over the edges as they were pressed against the hard frame that isn't protected by padding. The head/face rest fell several times and I was taken to a different cubicle. Same thing in there with the very uncomfortable massage table. They are small and they are not padded well. I am sure that over the years that the padding effectiveness has deterioted with use. I had to ask Lucy for extra toweling to protect my mouth from hitting the steel rod underneath the openning of the head/face rest. I didn't want my lips touching this part of the equipment that was probably being touched by other lips. I will not return until I am certain the tables have been updated. So sad to see what was once a good place for a massage go downhill the way that it has. In addition, the lack of an English speaking person in the establishment is another problem. Lucy had to call someone who spoke English, I had to talk to that person and tell them what Lucy needed to know and then Lucy got the info from them.

The couples massage was just two tables divided by a curtain. They used a lot of pressure and kept going back to the same spots. There was a bit of a language barrier to be able to communicate the amount of pressure desired. Much of the focus (like at other Asian places) is on the shoulders and back... and it hurt! I liked the hot rocks on the back and certain other areas but I didn't feel relaxed afterwards. You could also hear a lot of things (other people and the phone calls) because everyone is pretty much in the same room. It has a sister location in Orangeburg which I assume is similar. Get a groupon for a better deal. The Plaza contains a Walgreens as well. Parking was easy.

I walked in and it's a very no-frills place if you're looking for all the bells and whistle's this is definitely not for you but if you're someone suffering from aches and pains or just need a break from reality this is definitely the spot to go. The young lady that did my massage was wonderful. She was an expert in her craft that is for sure. Her hands worked magic. She got every single knot out . The downside to a place like this is you can hear everything going on around you the walls are paper thin so I had to hear a couple talking during the end of their massage and I had to listen to a woman giving instructions on how she wanted her feet rubbed. Also? A worker came In and began to have a chat with my masseuse in the middle of my massage. This really bothered me because for some reason massages are always a very emotional experience for me and usually I always go into a deep state and I begin to cry. So I was a little annoyed that my concentration was broken as I was meditating during the massage and focusing on an intention that I have. With all that being said I found out that the full hours normally 45 which isn't that much more than the $39 Groupon price I paid I'm gonna be going back to work in two weeks so I set up an appointment for next week just to try to get me in the right headspace again. She was able to locate every area of my body that was problematic and there were alot. She got the area in my shoulder, my hip and my hamstring. She found the pain points and worked on them hard. It was like having accupuncture on steroids. I could not believe how intuitive she was in isolating the trouble spots. My shoulder was so problematic, I was thinking I may need surgery. One day later it was significantly better. I would say she is as good as a Physical Therapist, if not better. I took the 90 minute massage and other than one 2 minute water break, she worked on me the entire time.

For the foot massage, there are about 6 comfy chairs in a darkish room...very relaxing and they soak your feet and then get to work... and at the end they even give you a little shoulder rub... in one word "Heaven." For the body work, you are in a big room with about 8 other massage tables separated by curtains...not as private but this room is dark as well ...so really not an issue. They offer many different types of body massages and I usually opt for the deep tissue massage which is always great. What I also love about this place is that you really get your full hour and sometimes even more... not like most traditional spas where you only get 50 minutes out of an hour. Although English is not spoken too well here... with hand gestures and my google translator app... I have not had a problem with communication.

Answered any and all questions I had. When walking in, I noticed that the establishment was very clean & well kept. The receptionist gave me a cute basket to hold all of my clothes and things to put on the floor. (this was a nice touch because in most other massage places, they always tell me to just leave me clothes on the floor) I'm surprised at the strength the little Asian lady had ! She made sure I was always comfortable and checked that the pressure wasn't too much and did fantastic working out some of my muscle knots and sore spots.
