Gotta say their service, product, and support really worked well. If you are recovering from this particular kind of eye surgery and require to have your face pointed at the center of the earth for 10 days, the chair and face rest these guys rent out really does the trick. Equipment is in good shape and clean and ships to your door. Assembly and repacking instructions on DVD work like a charm. The whole thing is well thought out. If you are setting it up yourself without help order _before_ the surgery! I can imagine that anyone going through the ordeal of this surgery might be in a bad mood. DO NOT RENT ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY. I tried to rent a 3 pad face holder called the 'Night Timer' but because I couldn't remember the actual name at the time of placing the order they sent me a complete chair set and all. The customer rep told me that I should have known that because it was 40lbs that it was more than just the 'Night Timer'. Since I never used their products before how would I know how much each product weighs? The product is bulky, heavy, and hard to assemble and totally awkward at best. I sent back the product in 2 days and they would not give any compensation at all. Don't waste your time with this company, go to another company with better quality products and better customer service. read more

I called Face Down Solutions after learning that I needed surgery the following day and, as a result this chair. They talked me into a $90 charge to get it same day. Couldn't guarantee it would be delivered in time.... The rental price was more than the chair cost on Amazon! The chair came in poor shape (pads scuffed and paint chipped) and had been used by a smoker. (I requested smoke free - one of their options). At the end of the week, I followed their instructions for ground shipping through FedEx. I called to confirm it was to be picked up the next day. They said I was supposed to call FEDEX a day ahead and this was in their instructions! IT WAS NOT! I mentioned the smell of smoke and their answer was I had an obligation to report that upon unpackaging and as I hadn't there was no refund option. I am now faced with another day's rental cost. I will be contacting me doctors to use another firm! This place in my opinion is a rip off. read more

Received the chair and face support unit today (1/29/2026) for my 80-year-old mother after her vitrectomy. We tried every possible adjustment, but the chair was simply not an option. She's 4'6" with prior double knee replacements and back surgeries, so--shockingly--it did not work for her body. She really only uses the face support unit. We decided to put the chair away since it wasn't being used, and turned to YT because it was not on the instructional video page on their site. That's where we saw the instructor mention the option of renting JUST the face support unit. When we called customer support for clarification, we were met with condescension and the ever-helpful question: "Why didn't you ask for that?" Apparently, customers are expected to already know all available (and unavailable) package options. Silly us. We were then escalated to a manager, who echoed the same response while repeatedly talking over us. When we explained my mother's condition and that she is a fall risk, we were told they "can't ask questions" about patient conditions. Fair enough--but when we volunteered that information to explain why the chair was unsafe, it was ignored entirely. Patient safety didn't seem to factor into the conversation. By the end of the call, we were finally told that the face support unit hasn't been available on its own for four years. Incredible. That's literally all that needed to be said from the beginning. Avoid if you can--unless you enjoy being spoken to like it's your fault for not knowing their products better than the people selling them--and unless patient safety is optional. read more

They make signing up really easy and tell you it's going to come as simple and all you have to do is take it out of the box but when it arrives, it's a whole bunch of parts with no instructions and when I called in to get support, Ruby could not have been ruder. This place is clearly lying to customers so you spend the money and once it's received, you're stuck with a bunch of parts that you've already paid for and have to figure out yourself. They did send some videos which were somewhat helpful, but only after we called and asked for help. I would not recommend this in this business should be shut down . read more

Recieved equipment quickly ! The day of surgery ! While i took my 94 years young Mom for her eye surgery. My brother and a friend put it together . They reported that it took 2 hours and a trip to town to the hardware store for an addition bolt. i admit these 2 are men and like most men do not read directions . Also of course they did not call to ask question eiether. BUT these two are farmers and rebuild all kinds of farm quipment daily. Should not be that difficult ! I wish they would have left it for me to put together. I have always found that following instructions step is the best. So now the rest of the review....My Mom ended up not using the chair at all some of the attachments were used however and were useful. Dont feel the chair is approprate for someone that is 94. Really is a fall risk. Requires standby assistance. I ever could get the mirror to work to watch TV. YES i did read directions. Could not figure it out. I called the company and the refered me to the U Tube vidio. Brochure was given to us by our eye specialits nurse. On the brochure the price was $179. Then ended up being $ 225. I was also told by the nurse that they would deliver and pick it up. Wonderful. But later read that there would be a charge for UPS to pick it up. BOX is huge also! So in the true spirit of saving a few bucks I returned it to a UPS store. It looked great and i really wanted to make Mom as comfotable as possible. But in the long run I feel we wasted $225 .Also included family heated discussion and stress added to an already stressful situation. Also after surgery Doctor told her she could lay on her unoperative side. So she didnt have to lay face down! So live and learn, ask questions , and do your reseacher. Chair arrived on time, in like new condition. set up wasn't too difficult. Helped my husband get through the first week and 1/2 of recovery. Packed up as directed, shipped back and got confirmation of delivery. I was expecting the 225.00 plus the 145.00 for the second week, but there was an additional charge of 75.00! They said it was for smoke smell. No one smokes in our house! Not even a fireplace! Not in the last 30 yrs.! Rep said there was nothing she could do but make a note of it. I have asked for a call from management , no news yet. They have not emailed a receipt for records or insurance. It's a shame that companies like these can take advantage of elderly people. 75.00 is a good chunk of cash for us. There are other companies out there, Hopefully you won't need this equip. My wife recently had to undergo surgery to re-attach her retina, and the hospital recommended Comfort Solutions for face-down rental equipment that would help her in recovery.  We ordered the package that included both the seated and face support with accessories.  The package came promptly the next morning and it was very easy to set up.  Comfort Solutions included a CD with instructions (I didn't have to use it) along with written instructions. It took no time at all to set up the equipment, and since my wife had to keep her face down towards the floor for a week, having this equipment was essential for her convalescence.  It included a reverse mirror so she could watch TV which helped a lot.  Re-packaging the equipment to send it back was also very easy.  The equipment folds down without a problem and a return label was included. The customer support was exceptional as well.  I read some of the negative reviews posted and I have to say my experience was the polar opposite. I dealt with Melissa, Mary and Penny and they were really great.  I would recommend Comfort Solutions to our friends and colleagues without reservation. read more

BUYER BEWARE! Note all the recent negative reviews, they are definitely not for nothing! Our chair arrived on a Saturday smelling like smoke. Sent same day email requesting a new chair to be delivered Monday though it should have been Sunday. Instead they responded by email saying they would ship new cushions. There are cushions permanently attached to the chair so needed a new chair as opposed to just cushions! Meanwhile my 87 year old mother with chronic back pain has no chair to sit in as she's getting headaches from the smoke smell. Her clothes and my living room now reek of smoke. Called twice on Monday saying new chair needs to be delivered, was told a manager would get back to me. As of 5:00 pm Monday no call from manager. Incidentally, I used their chair 3 weeks ago for my mother's first surgery and opted for same day delivery for an extra $100. Point being, I know that same day delivery is in fact available in my area. However suddenly 'not available' when the company is responsible to pay for it. Representative actually said she couldn't find a courier to deliver for free for me! No sh-t! Why is it the courier's responsibility to deliver for free?! Additionally they want me to take the smoke smelling cushions to Fed Ex to return, instead of sending a call tag for Fed Ex to pick up. Ridiculous service, ridiculous company taking no responsibility for anything . Just needed to rent the facedown equipment again from Comfort Solutions. Very speedy service and the Equipment was in perfect condition. I've seen some nasty reviews, but I can honestly say, both times I've had to rent from this Company everything has been excellent. Customer Service has always been on the money with friendly knowledgeable agents. I highly recommend using Comfort Solutions if you need to be facedown for that long week of recovery. Do not use this company! I had a Vitrectomy (eye surgery) They are not the least bit concerned if their product does not fit your needs. Also will not refund a least half of what you paid for. (225.00) Very UNPROFESSIONAL and is only out for the money. They care nothing about customer service or customer satisfaction. They told me because I sign the contract no refund. NO I DID NOT SIGN ANYTHING! Sent my chair back with 24hrs, was not an easy setup at all, charged me 12.00 for sending back On top of the 225.00. The chair had some kind of spill on it, coffee maybe not sure. WAS NOT AT ALL STERILIZED AS THEY STATED ON LINE WHEN YOU READ IT. They just send it to you by FedEx and it is up to you to drag it in the house and being Seniors as the both of us are and my husband is disabled you have to unpack it and try to put it together. My husband needed emergency eye surgery. They put a bubble in his eye to help his retina heal. As a business owner, he needed a way to work on his laptop during recovery. I called Comfort Solutions from the waiting room at the hospital. The angel that answered the phone knew exactly what I needed, helped me to stay calm during a stressful situation, and overnighted everything immediately. The equipment was very comfortable and perfect for his needs. They thought of everything. My husband was able to keep up with his work effectively. We used their system after eye surgery and it was such a big help to mom (she is 89). She was able to use it to read, watch TV and take naps with her head facing down (necessary after the surgery for 7 days). They delivered the equipment next day and did the set up ($50 expedite and delivery fee). The gentleman that delivered the product did a great job of explaining how it was to be used. He made sure to adjust it where it work best for mom. Mom did great, making a full recovery. The equipment made her life much easier. Glenn read more

I rented a chair from comfort solutions for use after my eye surgery. The rental was for 1 week. The charges me for 2 weeks because I was not able to get the equipment back to them on the 8th day. After calling and explaining that I only had 50 percent of vision in one eye and no vision in the other I would need more time to get the box back to UPS. Customer service basically told me if I rented a car would have to pay for the days I had it. There was no regard to the fact that I my Vision is shadows nor that I could not afford the fee UPS charges to pick up the package. The supervisor said that I probably used the equipment for an extra week and just don't want to pay. I will never use this company again nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

I am a 75 year old man living in NH and used Comfort Solutions as a source of medical equipment after surgery for a vitrectomy (eye surgery). My wife (same age) accompanied me to the surgery and stayed with me post op for my rehabilitation. The equipment was supposed to help with the process by maintaining a head down posture to allow for healing. I got their equipment and found it very, very difficult to construct and adjust to a comfortable working posture. I am quite handy and still could not do it while in a post surgical state. I called to send it back and said I could not use it at all. The CSR said she would note it but that there were no refunds, full or partial,l even though I never fully unpacked the equipment and sent it back exactly as it arrived. My suggestion is that (if you feel you need it) you get this equipment very early and construct it to your liking but it is NOT an essential piece of equipment and you can do the same with a neck pillow and a chair. They took my credit card info up front so I was stuck with the bill. If you are creative and disciplined with your rehab save yourself the money by not dealing with this organization. Finally, Medicare and my supplemental insurance would not cover the cost. read more

This company should not be doing business. My order "fell through the cracks." They offered no solutions to get me the medical equipment I needed. My original request for the chair was almost 4 days before surgery. On the day of the surgery when the equipment didnt arrive the owner, Mr Steven Ross, offered no assistance to help me get the chair. Same day service is a joke. They could only get me the chair two days after surgery. I ended up buying a chair from Amazon. Mr. Ross you should be ashamed of yourself. You cant treat people with such disrespect. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE! The items received smell like old cologne. A lot of the items are in rough condition. The "manual" they send has been copied over so many times, nothing is legible. They don't explain very much and they are bit friendly to questions. If you are taking care of family and you need a company to help with getting you the right equipment, this company is NOT the one for you. We used them because they had the fastest delivery time. The customer service is horrible and one staff members says something different from the next staff member. There are plenty of other online sites where you can rent medical equipment from. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE. Also these people will send you to collections within 30 days if you don't make payment. Mind you we have not received any calls or received an invoice for any past due invoice. The only notice we have received for any out standing invoice was the letter we received from the collection agency who also happens to be Comfort Solutions relative. The sad thing was that the collection agency was more helpful in resolving this situation for us. Comfort Solutions are crooked, unfriendly people who do not want to work with their patrons. The smell of cigarette smoke was overpowering. The stench of stale smoke clung to the chair and wafted through the room. In addition, the chair was not clean. All the handles were very dirty. The one knee pad was pretty worn but that is something one could live with. * I did try to use the chair but nothing was going to remove the nauseating smoke smell and it was impossible to use. * By husband moved the chair downstairs to the family room and the entire lower floor began to smell like a stale ashtray. The chair had to be dismantled and packed up right away to contain the stench. * I contacted the company and asked if they would please refund my money. I was asked if I had contacted them to have new pads overnighted to me. I was told that was what I should have done and they would not consider a refund. I asked if I might speak to a supervisor. * After being cut off once and placed on hold for a very long time, I was told, this time by a supervisor, that the responsibility was mine to have contacted them for clean pads. The equipment is badly designed, difficult to use, and unsafe. The purpose of the post-optical surgery gear is to help people stay in a certain position while healing from surgery to the inside of their eyeballs. Obviously this is high-stakes- you are trying to protect your face and eyes while maintaining a very awkward position for days. The equipment I received was so badly designed and difficult to adjust that it is all but impossible to use...and my husband is a PhD level at home improvements and IKEA. The gear arrived with obscure directions and smelled strongly and un pleasantly. I had to clean it. The design does not allow the user to fully be supported, for fear of losing your balance or falling face down - obviously a legitimate fear, i am asking my doctor to stop recommending this company. I will have to have the same operation on my other eye and there is no way I will deal with this company again. read more

This company gives terrible service. The instructions that come with the equipment explaining how to install the chair and the face down sleeping support were faded out. When I called to tell them that they should have better instructions since people who rent the equipment have visual problems, the lady who answered the phone was very aggressive and referred me to the Internet. I am internet savvy and checked it but still was not clear enough. I had to call my neighbor who is an engineer to help me setting up the equipment. Not everybody has Internet access or an engineer neighbor. In addition they posted 4 different charges on my credit card when they should have been just 2. They did not issue the credit for the 2 extra charges until a month after. When I complained about the additional charges the lady that I talked with, did not want to connect me with the billing department, told me that they would call me back. It took a few days for them to call me back, at that time my complain was about one additional charge. I just received my credit card bill, they made an additional charge on 6/9 after they told me they were going to give me a credit and waited until 6/23 to give me one credit and 6/28 to give me the other. read more

After giving her my address 4 times, she still got it wrong. The only information she managed to retain was my credit card data. The worst! Absolute worst company to deal with. They send a huge box with sooo many parts to assemble and figure out. We sent back everything that came out of that box. However, this dishonest group of people are now saying that we kept a piece and they want to charge us $85.50. Why would I need to keep a piece of this ridiculous chair? The chair itself is not very helpful in the face down recovery. It is very uncomfortable. My husband had better luck just sitting on the couch and holding his head down. I called and spoke to Emma, who apparantly is in charge of missing pieces and gauging customers for ficticious parts. She insisted that I look for the part and call back. So, I did. It took me 5 minutes to thoroughly check the 2 small rooms that these parts were located in while we had them. When I called back, Emma says that I did not look long enough. I recently had the worst experience with this company. My husband had a retinal detachment repair after a severe eye infection post-cataract surgery. We needed him to be face down immediately after surgery. We live an hour away from the outpatient surgical clinic so i called Comfort Solutions to see if we could have the equipment set up at home when we arrived back. The sales person told me that the equipment required assembly and came with videos. I told her i have back trouble and i did not have time to do this and take care of my husband. She offered to have someone deliver the equipment after hours for $120 and i told her that would be great IF they could also set it up. She agreed and i paid the $189 weekly rental plus $120 for after hours delivery and set-up. She also told me that someone would be available 24 hours a day to answer questions. I asked someone to stay at my house to wait for the delivery but when he came, he refused to assemble the equipment and just left. I immediately called the 24-hour service and got a voice mail saying i would be called right back. I called 3 times and no one answered or called me back. When i called the next morning i was called a liar, there was no effort made to rectify the problem and i was told that i would need to bring this very heavy piece of equipment to UPS to mail it back. Finally the company had someone pick it up. it was still in the box unused, for $309. A complete waste and a terrible experience. We ended up buying a massage table from Costco for $100 which is what the doctor had recommended. read more
