Great place to stay! Tracy at the front desk is an asset to the Inn. She was very sweet, helpful and informative. I'd stay here again.

Inconsistent staff, most of employees look miserable, and the rooms are not prepared properly. NOT CLEAN. Not a good place to stay at all.

What a hidden gem! I went to Iris as a solo getaway for the evening (last Thursday), traveling from…read moreNorthern VA (the concrete jungle) and stayed in Cabin #4. It was gorgeous. It was super clean, with a nice, cozy bed and comfortable, bougie amenities, including the shower you'd see at the St. Regis (open shower with a rain showerhead and sprayer). The private hot tub on the deck overlooking the mountains is gorgeous. I watched the sunset from my deck. I also discovered there's a washer/dryer in there in addition to a microwave and a fridge. So it's like a bougie version of a Residence Inn. Also, since I'm in my own cabin, I didn't hear anything from the outside unless I was outside. The property is beautiful. It has some small on-site hiking trails that take about 20-30 minutes. The clubhouse has an AMAZING chef-cooked breakfast in the morning that's included in your stay rate, and the on-site manager is so nice. They also put sparkling water and Fiji water in your fridge for free. You're also near the cute town of Staunton, which has gift shops, glass art (and glassblowing if you want to try), a historic railway, a high point city view (Sears Bridge), book shops, and restaurants/cafes. It's good to spend a few hours. There's no dinner on-site at the inn, but I went to the nearby Blue Mountain Brewery, which gets very popular. I hope you have a wonderful time here, and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Buyer beware - sharp business practices…read more My wife and I booked the Iris Inn for two nights through Expedia. The Inn's listing on Expedia said it was "dog friendly." Great, right? Not really. The Inn sent a message through Expedia saying that the room I booked didn't accommodate pets, but that they had more expensive rooms that did and would I want to switch to one of those rooms? Ok, I get it. Bait and switch. The problem is, the message went right to my spam folder. Never had a chance to see it and I never responded. That's where it was left for over two months until "Linda" called me up several weeks before the reservation - ostensibly to ask for a credit card for incidentals. I have the voicemail. I thought this was a bit unusual, asking for a credit card weeks beforehand for incidentals. In her voicemail she never mentioned anything about the pet issue, and she never mentioned anything it when I calked her back and spoke to her. Why? She knew I had not replied to her Expedia message. Why didn't she mention it? Why not "by the way, did you see the message we sent?" And she obviously had my phone number - she called me - why didn't she follow up that Expedia message with a simple phone call? The day of check-in I searched my email for the check-in instructions and only then did I see the Expedia message about the room I booked not accepting pets. I called in a panic. Linda explains their pet friendly rooms are sold out. So there I am, hours from home, with my dog, and nowhere to stay. And so I was forced to cancel the reservation, and Linda and the Iris Inn gladly took the $846 for the forced cancellation. That's almost a grand down the drain. For the love of God all she needed to do was SAY SOMETHING. So as you're thinking about where to spend your money, remember my experience. I'm just a normal person that lost $846 to this place when all they needed to do was say something about pets in the room I booked when they had me on the phone weeks before my booking. This is the kind of place the Iris Inn is. This is the kind of person "Linda the innkeeper" is. You have a choice to reward good behavior with your dollars or bad. It's your choice.

The bath is well appointed and fluffy robes add a luxurious touch. The breakfast was spectacular. Fresh greens with fruit and sugared pecans, the best homemade scone I'd ever eaten, shirred eggs that were scrumptious, bacon cooked to perfection and home fries as well as juice and coffee made up this fabulous feast. The setting is lovely, plenty to do and see nearby and a host and hostess that were both accommodating and delightful to visit with. I highly recommend this establishment.

The surrounding grounds are also a gem with a lovely patio, gardens, Mountain View's and a swing! We found our room ( the blue room) to be comfortable & well appointed . Dana and Scott added all the right touches to make for both a good nights sleep and a comfortable hangout spot to rest from a day of hiking. We've stayed in a few b & b's over the years but Heritage Hill tops our list. Dana and Scott are warm hosts, allowing us free reign of the grounds and much of the home so we could relax outside of our bedroom. Dana prepared a delicious, full breakfast to start our day. The egg soufflé was tasty and cooked to perfection. We found the location to be great, a short (maybe 15 minute) drive from southern Shenandoah NP and northern Blue Ridge Parkway. Both offering hikes and viewpoints. There are breweries, wineries, art galleries, scenic drives and museums in the area. We will definitely return to the area as there's more exploring to do --we plan to definitely stay at Heritage Hill again.

This could be a decent place if they provided parking for all their guest. They do not if you stay…read morein the back you are out of parking 90% of the time. Especially if your handicap not one space dedicated to handicap people. Call and say something you will get told "well there is nothing we can do about it if you park at your room you will be towed " other words if your handicap just ride your wheelchair or hobble down hill a long way from the empty front lot to the back. Lol rude I'd say yes. The only handicap spots are in the front at the office a great distance from the back option walk down a hill long ways around building to the back or downstairs alot of stairs. You handicap people choose. Because again they can't/ to lazy to help. Besides the parking paying over 2,000 to stay and the room smaller then your standard Days Inn great stay. Especially if your disabled. Thanks hope this helps the next ada disabled person get better service then myself. Have a great day.

I called and was told it was because there was "orange" on the towel. Perhaps supply your guests with black towels to avoid this in the future. Never in my life. We will be making biweekly trips to this area for the next 6 months and were planning on booking again but forget it. If you consider this place, bring your own sheets and blankets as you may get them dirty which apparently is a no no at this particular hotel. SMH.
