Showers - water pressure was good and it was HOT!!! Almost too hot to start with. The negatives: Construction - this isn't anything the hotel can help but it was a mess trying to get in there and find it because of construction. Bed quality - this was the biggest drawback for my wife and I. The bed was FIRM... like sleeping on a rock firm. We like a softer bed and this one caused some problems sleeping. If you like a firm mattress this may be perfect for you. The neutral items: Breakfast - we left too early to get breakfast so we didn't have a chance to try it. Overall, I would give them another try to see if all the beds were as firm and since there were so many positives.

Me: No...you guys have an elevator, right? Staff: Yes...with a friendly laugh. A nice clean room and bathroom with what one would expect in a nation wide brand motel. Although, the bathroom shower doors could close a little better. Price was reasonable for a king size single bed, which was pretty comfortable too. I had breakfast at the small dinner inside. Definitely not bad, everything was cooked and presented well. I'd compare it to a local dinner with a nice wait staff. I even did some laundry there and the machines were clean and worked. That's everything.

My daughter and I stayed in the first floor room that was the home's original dining room, and it was so pretty with lovely wood paneling around the doors and ceiling, a beautiful large tiffany window, and perfectly chosen furnishings. I was able to see several of the upstairs rooms as well and they too were very nice. The breakfast was delicious with the best orange juice I've had in years. If we should ever make our way back to Indiana, we'll definitely stay here again. One additional note: the town of Richmond IN is FULL of gorgeous old Victorian houses that could be refurbished into veritable palaces, much like the Smith B&B. There are also charming cottages from the early 1900s. In a way, it reminds me of Savannah GA in that there are so many lovely historic properties. If historic preservation/renovation is your thing, (and you're lucky enough to be retired or to telework full time), you should definitely check it out.

The staff is friendly. Housekeeping even wrote us a kind little note left in the room that said "enjoy your stay" with a smiley face. You get a physical key (can ask for 2 per room). Doors lock on their own. Two stories. For the standard room with two beds, the sheets were soft and pillows were super cushy. Plenty of blankets to stay warm. There's a TV with cable and free wifi, although it might take a few tries to connect. There was a mini fridge and microwave in one of our rooms, but the other room was missing a microwave. One of the rooms has a ceiling leak, which is our only real concern. No carbon monoxide detectors in rooms, if you're concerned about that. Some hand soap and another kind of liquid soap is provided with a few towels. The towels are your standard white hotel towel that are super thin and get damp quickly - if they ever upgrade I'd consider getting thicker towels!! The shower/bath tub is pretty big and you can adjust the water pressure between darts of water and a slow drip, and the water temp is good. The room is pretty cold but you can adjust it - bring layers!! They have vending machines and ice. Coffee is provided in the lobby but they no longer have free breakfast due to COVID - not sure when that'll come back if ever. Wal-Mart is conveniently right across the street for all your other needs. Overall enjoyed my stay!

This B&B is in a classy home, tastefully restored, with stained glass windows on a gorgeous wood staircase. My wife and I stayed two nights for a weekend getaway. The entire place is very clean and smells wonderful. There is a hospitality room for all guests on the second story, with a mini fridge, microwave, and water dispenser. We made use of the mini fridge and microwave to store and reheat leftover dinner. It would have been nice to have coffee available, as well as tea bags, and/or complimentary soda or bottled water. We were provided with yummy desserts on both nights - lemon sugar cookies and then pound cake. Breakfasts are good - plenty of fruit, orange juice and coffee. The entrees were a kind of quiche in a bowl and French toast. Our room on the first floor (Room 1) was cozy and clean and warm, albeit small. The size of our room didn't matter to us, because we were the only guests on Friday and could wander the house and relax in the sitting room to read on a rainy day. The B&B is within 5 minutes of several fast food, local and chain restaurants. We did not explore Richmond too much, but it seems there are nice parks in town and plenty of classy homes to drive by. Within the B&B, there are only a couple board games, but they do have satellite TV in every room. There are several DVDs for borrowing, but our room did not have a DVD player. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, which was relaxing and stress free.

The staff were also super friendly when ridiculous laundry concerns happen: for no good reason my quarter jammed in the washer slot, but Jeremy managed to deal with it quickly. When my ball jar shattered (great for holding laundry pods at home, but a foolish of me to take on the road), the office staff (A- name I forgot, but prompt and even pleasant) heard and came running. If you need help, it's here. You can rent a swan paddle boat or golf cart, but the pool (10-8 pm) and sluice are incredible. I didn't see a K9 Kamp but our pup loved walking around the ponds. The gazebos near the entry definitely set the tone for this restful visit. Pollinating flowers are all around! The firewood was marked up, so maybe bring your own certified Ohio firewood. This is a KOA Holiday but with Journey proximity since you are very close to the interstate but have minimal interstate sounds, and it isn't an expedition to find the park. The staff are present all over, and the store is a great amenity/souvenir mix. This was a recommended stop, and we're glad we did. We would skip the firewood (park markup), but it was quickly delivered to our site at least.

The water barely works in the restrooms and you can totally forget about a hot shower . The snack bar is never open , the staff is friendly and helpful but their prices are ridiculous ! Last fall when we were there, we spent days listening to the maintenance people blowing leaves gravel and dust all over our vehicle from sunup to sundown . The last time I went to Perfect North it was $20 for one hour. We went right at 11am when they opened. There was a 20 minute delay from the groups that got ahead of us signing the waivers. The waivers are on iPads and there are only two. This would have maybe been better if we had not got there right at opening. They have a nice area to sit inside and get warm and have snacks. The snack bar has warm drinks and the normal snacks you would find at a concession stand like nachos with liquid cheese. The slopes are all the same and just a straight down tube run. At Perfect North the have designed some of the runs to be different slopes, humps etc. I love the have some fun, they let me wear my T-Rex suit and tube down the hill. We had a great time in the snow and so close to Richmond Indiana.

We have never taken advantage of the snack bar so I cannot say anything about it. It's a fun time whether you are a kid or an adult!
