Decor was fine, nothing special, but good enough. Heating/AC worked fine and overall this was a nice place to stay. Bathroom was clean and roomy. Now for a bit of nitpicking. The view from my room was to the front canopy. The room had no USB ports to use in charging my phone or any other modern electronics, at this point I have come to expect that all I need is a USB cord. The lighting in the bathroom was a bit dim to my liking. The breakfast overall was fine with some nice touches, however they were out of quite a few items: no regular tea, no yogurt, pancake machine not working, and no hot cereal. Holiday Inn Express is one of the more expensive hotels in Bradford, while the hotel is clean and not a bad place to stay, however they need to pay a bit more attention to the small details to justify the cost. I don't recommend a long term stay here and being aware of your surroundings. Bathroom was a bit scary - mostly original and frankly a pain in the ass. The sink has prison-like faucets as if we can't be trusted to turn the water off. A picture is worth a 1000 words but trust me - you don't want to see pictures. The elevator seemed cool but was only for "staff and maintenance" so probably not that safe to use for the gen pop. We were using this area to check out the Allegany National Forest and a rest point en route to Niagara Falls. Bob and Carolyn are very nice and accommodating. They offer red/white wines at night between a few hours and serve breakfast in the morning. You pick what you want at checkin and and if you're staying multiple nights, you pick what you want at the end of breakfast for the next day. Lots of bread options. A downside is they don't offer fruits, except the juice which tastes fresh. Breakfast is served between 7-9 so late sleepers may need to adjust. You need to pick the exact start time though. The inn itself has many rooms and each have a private bath. We looked at the majority of them. The second floor rooms reminded me of a frilly dolly house look. They also had tons of bunny decorations for pre-Easter. I thought they were cute. No religious decor. They have queen beds and king beds. I recommend splurging the extra $10 for a king room. We switched our room from a room directly under the innkeepers, who stay on the third floor, (where we were put initially) to the "man" room on the first floor which was very big and had lots of windows and a fireplace. They even had complimentary bathrobes and some toiletries. There was enough space to layout our own toiletries and even a suitcase rack. There was only a small dresser and some hooks so if you had lots of clothes to hang and put away you'd want an additional arrangement. The bed is very comfortable and so were the pillows. The made our bed and changed our towels daily. The house was made in the late 1800s so it creeks. We were the only people there at time of stay so not sure how well you may hear others but I think sound travels well. The house and decor aren't modern but probably in line with the rest of the town judging by the restaurants. There is some general wear and tear you'll see but nothing significant. I wouldn't necessarily advertise this place as romantic or family friendly. More just for business travelers or couples with an agenda. There are games to play and some free snacks and drinks on the second floor. Bob will talk to you a few times if you're around so it doesn't feel like an anonymous vacation. He knows a lot about the area and the history. It kind of felt like we were staying at a distant cousin's or uncle's place more so than a hotel. We even told them when we were leaving for the afternoon or for dinner. We probably didn't have to, though. One odd thing is that there are signs all around telling you to do things like turn off the heater if you're sleeping or turn on the fan if you're showering. One sign they really should have is be careful of the middle foot on the couch because we stubbed our toes numerous times and it hurt like holy hell. Just a tip, if you're on the lower level you can easily hear sounds of cars on the road, even stereos. Usually not a problem later at night but it may wake you in the morning. The most renovated room is the quietest though but we didn't see that one since a guest was in it the first night we were there. It's a king room too. So overall I was happy here but not sure if the B&B style is really our thing.

So we flew from LAX to Buffalo, NY, which allowed us to visit Niagara Falls (stunning) and then take a quick drive south to Bradford, PA (home of Zippo lighters). The first thing one notices when entering this part of Pennsylvania is how well-kept the homes and farms are. And when you turn onto the access road to the Glendorn Lodge, you see their farm-to-table patch of a vegetable farm. Once through the gate, the drive is a couple of miles to the main lodge and check-in. The staff are so wonderful and polite, calling us by our last names, which is very formal but a nice touch! Our home, cabin, was lovely beyond description. The master bedroom was stunning, the screened-in porch was perfect for 10 to 12 people hanging out (ideal for a family reunion), and we had an outdoor fireplace/pit blazing and roasting marshmallows for the kids. The next morning, we rode bicycles that you keep at your cabin home. We went out on a small lake with paddleboards, canoes, kayaks, etc. We also played volleyball and had lunch catered and delivered to the lake - fantastic service. The next day we played tennis, swam, basketball and even shot skeet! As our time at Glendorn came to a close, we reflected on the unparalleled service and the deep sense of relaxation we experienced throughout our stay. The staff truly went above and beyond, ensuring every detail was perfect, and their personalized approach made us feel like cherished guests rather than just visitors. Don't bother asking for new sheets daily though, they get kinda cranky about that. Basically it feels like the whole place is being run by Scrooge McDuck on a shoe-string budget. The desk clerk guy lives here, and I'm willing to bet the one cleaning staff does too. All in all its not a bad place to stop for a night, but I wouldn't do an extended stay here.
