When we arrived Ben gave us the history of the Kane family and the manor,which was very interesting. Rooms are rustic, cozy and clean. There is lots of walking/hiking trails. The husband & wife are a good team with a great backbone. If you can get around the scary idea of no confirmation email (if booking thru expedia etc..). I took a chance on them anyway and am glad i did. They were incredibly helpful with helping us find trails, asking us if we wanted anything else & suggestions on where we can eat. The home is old & unique with history. Large & we would definitely consider it again for a stay because of their personalities with the backbone of staff & style. We definitely enjoyed the silence of the area and they provided the perfect amount of being around vs leaving us to our peaceful quest. read more

What an absolutely AMAZING venue! My Mom was married here and the caretakers went above and beyond to ensure the experience was incredible. Owner was very defensive and rude when we complained about the cleanliness of the room and the painful mattress. Extremely unprofessional behavior we asked to have our money back for the next day so we could go home because we were in so much pain and knew we couldn't sleep. They refuse to reimburse us so we continued our stay until it was time to go. read more

What a gorgeous bed and breakfast! This place is so large and cozy and full or awesome furniture and cool history I can't wait to come back soon!! The owner was helpful and kind when she checked me in, showing me to my room and giving me great advice about where to eat and relax. Our room was spacious and absolutely spotless, the bed was soft and warm and fresh and clean. The bathroom had strong pressure and hot water for days with pleanty of fresh soft towels. Breakfast was delicious they made us a fruit smoothie with bacon and blueberry pancakes. Also, the Friday we were there the had a special event and it was really fun to get to have some drinks and mix with some other folks and hang out on the beautiful furniture and explore the giant mansion that is Kane Manor Inn. I had a excellent stay here and I absolutely can't wait to come back!! read more

Great place to stay! Historic home 1800's, current owners provide personal touches that are not intrusive but make it feel like you are part of the family. Aside from that a previous owner - in Kane family (original family and town's namesake) did surgery on himself not only once but twice- and back in the day when pain management was not an Rx but grit!! These were people who made this country what it is! History and modern renovations blend into a great place to stay. Tellingly in such an old house - no creaking floors and you do not hear the neighbors. Plus a great patio to share the days events and or meet fellow travelers on differing journeys. read more

Christmas time at Kane Manor Is truly magical. They are having a Christmas and Cocktails Event every Friday evening until Christmas. The building itself is fabulous to explore, but even more so right now with all the wonderful holiday decorations. Go and listen to some live music, have a hot toddy, and relax. Ben and Deb are excellent owners, breakfast was great and the Christmas decorations were like something out of a hallmark movie.

After the COVID issue, we finally made it back after 2 years. We stayed at the main house (Fountain Room) vs across the road like last time. I am happy to report that this place is still great. The new owners (6 months) were fantastic and this is a great small town B&B! Breakfast is included and the price is extremely competitive for this area. I highly recommend it. It is not modern so don't expect that. But they do have Xfinity TV and internet. read more

This is a quaint and historic B&B in a very charming town. I cannot speak for the my stay at this place but I can warn anyone considering having a wedding or any other event here, DO NOT. I recently traveled to this place for a wedding and was absolutely floored at the ignorance of the hostess and event coordinator, Deb. She was an absolute NIGHTMARE. She refused to let the caterer use her refrigerator, even for the wedding cake. She forgot to bring champagne for the toast. She made absolutely no announcements about the seating charts or the fact we had to carry our chairs from the outside wedding area to the tent. My favorite? She lied and told people there was a black bear in the area so they had to clean up all tables fast. A bear. They cleared tables while guest were still seated. This was a ruse to hurry up and rush guests out as quickly as possible. She refused to let the DJ play past 9pm sighting a noise ordinance , yet somewhere down the road a band or loud music was playing til 11. She warned the caterer not to leave cookies as she "wasn't cleaning up anymore messes". This event coordinator is absolutely ignorant and was inconvenienced to have this event. She will read this and remember the event. I hope she realizes how awful she was. How shameful to take a couples special day and act like such an unprofessional and disgusting individual. Kane Manor is a classy place but she definitely trashed it up with her presence. I might encourage Deb to find another line of work as holding events at this place is not for her. I will be returning to this area and will NOT be staying there. Besides apparently it's not safe, as a black bear might be waiting for me in the woods. We stayed here at the Inn for 7 nights. We were here for a family funeral, and occupied 6 rooms, also had a memorial luncheon event held here. The owners and staff were so accommodating and friendly, they truly enjoy their guests. The breakfast was delicious and hot every morning. The mansion is so rich with history and we learned so much about Kane. They are making improvements on the property, we are looking forward to coming back and seeing them soon. Will go back and stay anytime we are in the area. read more

Never have I stayed anywhere quite like the Kane Manor. This place is absolutely beautiful, full of history, and run by incredibly friendly people. When you're here, you feel just like you're at home, although your home probably doesn't have a beautiful fireplace in almost every room, gorgeous antique furniture, or the feeling that you stepped back into another time when you walk through the door. Went to Kane for the annual H.S. reunion celebrations. I went with my best friend because this was her 40th class reunion. This was my first visit to Kane - what a lovely town with tons of victorian architecture = some totally restored, others in the process and some...waiting for a loving and rich owner. Our reservations were at the Country Manor Inn, the only B and B in Kane....and for under $70 per night, our expectations were not that high. But we were surprised! The outside looks like a French manor and is very impressive. The view from the driveway is quite stunning and we were feeling very regal driving up to the doorway to unload our luggage. We were greeted by Dave, the owner, who was right in the "thick" of catering one of the reunion parties. He stopped and welcomed us and was calm and acted as if he had all the time in the world to spend and chat with us. I ran a lodge, not that long ago, and don't know if I would have been able to be as chatty right in the fray of a catering event! Anyway the welcome was genuine and we were feeling very taken care of from that time onward. The entry way led to a small, rather cluttered office where our reservation was hand done and we got a fobbed key for our room. The hallway was narrow and our room was located on the third floor. Thank goodness for the handrail. We made several trips up and down to get our things organized. We had brought a cooler with us because it was a five hour drive and also because I'm a vegetarian and didn't know what I would be able to find to eat both at the B and B and also in town. They have a refrigerator just at the entrance to the kitchen area that they let guests use for personal food supplies and I was stoked - it was clean and there was plenty of room for my Kefir and Quinoa salad, etc. Our room was freezing cold when we entered; Dave had turned on the AC so that it would not be stifling (old house, third floor, heat rises). Our room was nothing special and kind of felt like the spare bedroom at Grandma's house. We had two beds and a private bathroom (that apparently had been recently upgraded). The bathroom was huge and had a nice empty cabinet in which to stow your hair dryer and toiletries. There were two sets of mismatched towels on the chair in the bedroom. The bathroom could have used some hooks and towel bars. Also, some of the pieces of furniture needed a good dusting. I dropped my purse and a penny rolled under the dresser and there were dust bunnies hanging out. Clearly these details were not on the priority list for the Manor. Anyway, the huge manor itself is wonderful with lots of seating areas with antiques being added to bring back the style of the manor. I can only imagine the cost of filling these huge common spaces with antiques! And that's just the cosmetic side of things. The building itself is also in need of some repair and restoration and there are signs that this is going on. The pillars off of the back porch look like they have been recently repaired and repainted and there were still piles of fresh construction debris on the lawn. In other words, there is evidence of loving care being administered to this Inn. Our breakfast the first morning was nothing out of the ordinary, but good standard breakfast food. The services was outstanding with Dave's two nieces as the servers. Looks like it's all in the family.... the true worth of a place to stay and return to is the temperament of the staff and the willingness to really take care of the guests. The breakfast area was full and we chatted with some of the other guests, most of whom were here for the reunion festivities. Many of them were repeat customers to the inn (that speaks volumes in my book). The coffee, by the way is excellent and I got up earlier than my friend and was given a cute mug to use. I sat on the deck before breakfast and enjoyed overlooking the property and waking up slowly. I used the mug both days and asked Dave if I could buy it as a souvenir of this stay. And he GAVE it to me!!!! Above and beyond! I was so tickled and am currently drinking my morning coffee out of the mug while I write this review, and there is a smile on my face from the pleasant memory of being there. This place is a real jewel in the Allegheny highlands and I am hoping to be able to return to experience the progress on the building and grounds. Dave seems to have endless ideas and energy and a real vision for the future. read more

My colleague and I, along with two research students, spent three nights at Kane Manor. It was a great stay. The owners and their staff's hospitality was genuine each time they greeted us. The savory smell of breakfast coming from the Kane Manor Kitchen, was the prelude to what our taste buds enjoyed each morning, especially the plate-sized pancakes served with eggs and sausage on day one. On top of the great customer service and food, each of us had our own room and private bathroom at a price that was below the cost of an average four-star hotel (e.g. Hampton Inn or Holiday Inn Express).
