We came to stay here after a good experience last year. While the front desk help was great, that is where the good experience ends. First of all, when we got to the room the television was on and there was McDonald's in the trash as well as a fry on the floor. We thought the room was occupied but the lady at the front desk assured us that it wasn't. Also, the door would not lock and there was no dead bolt so we had to pile chairs by the door just to make ourselves feel more comfortable. We tried to change rooms but all of the king sized rooms were booked. The breakfast was also not great. While it was well stocked, the hot times were cold. read more

Absolutely disgusting. The parking lot was a mess and we ended up accidentally driving over a bottle of liquor left in a parking spot. The sheets were disgusting and the rooms have bedbugs. We even had to have the front desk lady go take Videos and pictures of the bugs on the mattresses. STAY AWAY. read more

This was the worst hotel stay ever in my life. The front desk staff was okay but the rooms were terrible. When I checked into the hotel and received my key and went to my room the door was open and tv on. I have never got my key at a hotel and the door be open with the tv playing. When I questioned the staff they told me something about the housekeeper. I was already running late for a meeting so I put my luggage in the room and left. I told myself that I will deal with this when I return. I got back to the hotel later and grabbed my things and went back to the front desk. The other ladies were gone so I had to explain my situation to the night lady (she was wonderful by the way). She understood why I didn't feel safe sleeping in that room so she called her manager but she didn't answer or call back. So the nice lady found me another room. The room didn't even seem to be bad. However, when I went to hang up my dress in the closet there was an empty E&J VSOP bottle sitting in the corner. This right here tells you that their housekeeping team half a** their jobs. Since I booked with a third party, the manager told me that she couldn't refund me. She did tell me if I signed up with Choice thatI she could give me some points. I stepped to the side to do that and she took down my number. However, today 10/13 makes a whole week since my stay and I have yet to see them Points. I was not the only customer in that hotel that was having problems. My one Soror sister had to use her shoulder to get her door to open. Another one could never get into her room with her key and another one could not leave her room without closing the door all the way. This hotel need to be remodel and updated ASAP. Because when I tell you that I will never stay at this hotel in Clinton, Mississippi as long as I'm on this earth. This place is a safety hazard to anyone that lodge here. Start with the positives. Location is decent. It's among a busy business district area, right off the interstate. Check-in was semi-simple although stern (maybe the day staff is more pleasant). The rooms and hotel overall is indeed within the 2.5 star range. The bathroom is somewhat newer and the furniture fixtures are not worn or chipped. Plenty of light in the room and the location is a tad bit away from the major road so noise isn't a big problem. Negatives - checked all of the boxes! Found two roaches, or let me say, two found me on a mirror close to the bed area Bed bugs, yes. Photo proof attached (yes that dot was moving). Hair in the bed linens Breakfast was weak (using covid as an excuse of course) but machine coffee and machine juice with a few plastic muffins were available. Some reviewers would instantly one star a place for bugs/pests alone. I just think the hotel is being lazy. Yes, it's a small town hotel but that doesn't make it an excuse to not exterminate or freaking smile upon arrival. STOP USING COVID AS AN EXCUSE TO NOT CLEAN ROOMS! The main thing that sticks out about our stay here was the extraordinarily friendly staff. Everyone we encountered (front desk, cleaning crew in the hallway, etc.) were over-the-top cordial and pleasant to interact with. Also, the owner was here on the day we were; he came to our table, introduced himself, and we had a nice talk. I wish there were better food options at breakfast, but that's typical of Comfort Inn. Apparently, management can attempt to gain entry to a room whenever they'd like. It happened twice on my daughter and son's recent stay at this Comfort Inn. The first attempt was at 11:30 pm on the night of their stay. The second was around midnight. When we called the hotel, they said that if there was issues with payment, ownership has told them to enter the room to see if it is occupied. According to them, this has to happen before the end of someone's shift. Here's the thing, the room phone never rang and nobody tried knocking on the door. They used their card to get into the room. Fortunately, our kids not only locked the door, but utilized the stopper. In addition, there was no issue with the payment. The card was successfully run several nights before their stay. The staff may not have properly checked our kids in, but that is a staff issue and should not allow someone to go into random rooms. Talk about safety issues. When I first heard about this, my mind went toward the worst possible situations (you can imagine what that could entail). When my son submitted a complaint online, they offered 3,000 points toward a stay. Um, really? Upon the second response, they offered 8,000 points. It's not worth it. Avoid this Comfort Inn. Go elsewhere. Oh...and the toilet didn't work either. The kids had to go across the street after waking up in the morning instead of remaining in the room. They didn't complain to the front desk about this and probably should've, but the staff wasn't aware of any issues with the toilet previously. AVOID THIS HOTEL! read more

Room- we had to moved twice. First one had problems with the lock and key card wont work. Front desk had to come up and "fixed it" but it quickly stopped working again. Came up again. He said he "batteries might have to be replace" but he dont know how. Maintenance guys will do it Second room was fine but the dividing door to the other room where other guests were staying seem to be so thin so we can easily hear the screams and fighting from the kids, and parents yelling. Kids are kids-- I get it... But I wish they had thicker dividing doors! Our third room was fine. Bed was comfy and sheets were clean. Bathroom was clean Staff were friendly and polite. The front desk lady said "good morning!" when I came down the next morning for breakfast. During breakfast, boiled eggs ran out and when I informed the lady working the area, she quickly brought out more. The manager was very rude and disrespectful when I tried to talked to him about reducing my stay and getting a refund. He humiliated me in front of another employee and guests. He was talking over me and asked if I could read. I have never been treated so badly for simply trying to reduce my stay and get a refund. He was dismissive of my concerns at the hotel. Choice Hotels is refusing to hold him accountable. Apparently they allow managers to treat people like that and continue to advertise their brand. Unprofessional and rude! Do not stay here. Run! Save your money and go where you are respected and treated like a human being. -Had to change rooms due to first room being dirty from blood stain on sheets and shower curtain had stains. Window coverings has holes. Couch was dirty. -Loud noises outside of the building making it hard to sleep -Security cameras falling off the building -Internet is slow and unreliable. I have to use my own hotspot -Laundry services out and have been out for a while. I was not notified in advance. The manager has yet to repair. - Grab and go breakfast is disappointing. Utilized Priceline to make reservations. Called more then 24 hours in advance to change date due to tournament cancellation. Priceline stated could not change date or cancel reservation. Hotel stated shouldn't have gone through Priceline because could have changed date or cancelled if went straight through hotel. Either way won't be utilizing Priceline or this hotel. Changing to a future date with a more then 24 hour notice should have been feasible to either party. Customer service definitely not their priority. read more

I've stayed here before and it's always a pleasure here. Today we were met by Amanda the lady at the counter and she was the most nicest person you would want to meet. She offered us another room in the event ours were to far at the end, talked about the amenities they offered, breakfast times. Just wished we could have the time to stay longer. The accommodations were simple but clean. Our room was quite and we had a good nights rest after a long travel day.

I hesitate to give this hotel 3 stars. The staff is nice enough, I enjoyed the breakfasts in the mornings, and the bed was comfortable but that's about it. The internet here is awful. I'm not even sure it qualifies as real internet. Also, on the third day of our stay, we get back to our room that evening to see that housekeeping took all of the bath linens and didn't put any back in the room. I went down to the front desk and the girl working didn't understand enough to give me two complete sets of linens: 2 bath towels, 2 wash cloths, and 2 hand towels. I also asked for the bath mat you put on the floor and she had no idea what that even was and asked me what it looked like. She then goes to a room behind the desk and returns with 3 bath mats, 1 hand towel, and 5 or 6 wash cloths. I also hate the fact that they hang the curtain rod 8ft above the ledge of the tub (all hotels who utilize shower curtains do this for some stupid reason) and there is nowhere other than the ledge of the tub to put your stuff. I think the next time I'm in town, I'll go back to staying at the hotel around the corner from them...they have faster internet and showers with an eye level shelf to put your shampoo, conditioner, razor and body wash. read more

Worst service ever! My room had no hot water at all! I waited for over 2 hours and it never got more then Luke warm. The front desk said they couldn't do anything until the owner got there. I only booked the room to get a hot shower & sleep so by that time I couldn't wait hours for the owner to finally come in.I went & booked another hotel. Called the next day to tell owner what happened he said he had to check the room which took him 2 days & calling him a few time to do. He then admitted there was no hot water & agreed to partial refund but eventually agreed to full refund since I didn't even stay in the room. He then instead of refunding charged my account a 2nd $92 & the next day refunded the 2nd charge to try to make it look like he refunded me. Talked to my bank & they reversed this since I had been speaking to them & showing them the recordings of what the owner was saying & that he agreed to a refund & admitting there was no hot water. Also a recording of his employee letting me know they had checked & their was also no hot water. The Owner then charges my account FOR THE THIRD TIME! & now says that there was hot water the whole time! I have all this on recording. I strongly discourage doing business with this owner unless you want him to take your hard earned money for nothing in return!!! read more

DON'T RESERVE A ROOM HERE!! We had reservations here in February 2021. We were stuck in the snow in Louisiana & could not get to the hotel. We were taken out to a different highway & had to take a different route home. We had to call 4 times before they picked up the phone. When we finally got through & spoke to Tonya to let her know & to give our room away. She was very uncaring & said there is a 48 hour cancelation policy. We were still charged for the room & after repeated calls, the manager would NOT call us back. I will never stay here again.VERY POOR customer relations. I was overcharged for a "Cracker Box room" located by the 3rd floor elevator to the right. This room is in the elevator waiting area by itself, the remaining rooms are along the corridor. My company vehicle broke down and the repair shop was kind enough to take me to a hotel. I could have paid $30 less for this room on Priceline, but they said they would work with me. The desk clerk on duty assured me that she had credited my account for the night, but when I received my bill, no credit except taxes. My experience with the hotel went from bad, to worse as the night went on. First, I attempted to call on my way because we had a flat tire and wanted recommendations for places to get a new tire on a Saturday evening. I sat there while the clerk talked to someone else and never came back to the line. When I checked in, he answered a phone call while I was at his desk and he spent what felt like five minutes with them, cancelling their reservation and not assisting me. Upon arrival to our room, I went to fill the ice bucket which had water a a huge black hair inside. There was a similar black hair in the microwave. After getting settled, my kids (6, 8 and 11) got their swim gear on for a night cap - the primary reason I booked the hotel - 8 hours in the car, they needed to get their energy out. Low and behold, the pool was out of order but we weren't told that, and from the looks of other reviews, it's been out of order for a while. We were told they're remodeling the floor, but no evidence of that. My final complaint (as of now) is the WiFi fails to connect. These issues were brought up to staff at the front desk without so much as a "I'm sorry"). If it wasn't 9:12pm as I'm writing this review and we hadn't been on a 8 hour turned 10 hour road trip, we would immediately leave and stay somewhere else. This was the best hotel experience I have ever had. My son got sick & the staff gave us extra towels & bags to bring it back down in. He is 17 months old & had a tummy bug. Once the towels were thrown up on, they needed to get out of the room! The front desk clerk even asked us how he was feeling later that night and the next day at breakfast! Check in took 2 minutes max & checkout was about 30 seconds. The water pressure was fantastic, I felt safe in the parking lot, the room was clean. I should have taken a photo of the room before we "moved in". This was the friendliest hotel staff I have ever encountered. Thank you for making our trip the best it could be given our tummy bug! It's an okay hotel. I wouldn't say it's the best or the worst I've ever stayed at but it was good for one night. The staff is friendly. The area is convenient to the hwy. And there are plenty of places to eat in the area. It would be beneficial if the maintenance repaired things in a better fashion. I think that's the problem here. The maintenance need to do a better job at completing the job and not forget about the appearance of repairs if that makes sense. Oh and the sheets are scratchy. Unbelievably poor service. I called the hotel to book a room. The lady at the reservation desk at 9:40 pm on October 17, 2015 was not helpful. She brushed me off. It was apparent that she is doing as little as she can get away with for her wage. She determined the room I needed and there was only one remaining. Then she said she would help me book the room but needed to place me on hold to look up some information on my "choice" account. The next thing I know I'm hearing an automated phone recording. I press the numeral for reservations and a man in a call center in India starts asking me questions. I'm irritated by the fact that there was no warning that I was being transferred. Next, this guy asks me how many adults. Ok. Two. Then, how many children. Ok. One. How old? 2 years. Next, he says I'm sorry sir I cannot book that room for you unless you get a pullout bed or a crib from the front desk. I said I don't need either. My wife brought our pack and play. He responds, well then I can't book this room for you because you will exceed the occupancy. I'm astonished. I said, "is this America?" Well then there is only two of us and no child. He says, but you just said you have a child. I said look, I'm trying to pay for a room. Comfort inn is still in the business of accepting payment for a room???? Why is this so complicated? I pay money for room... Ok? At this point I've been on the phone a while. At this point I'm thoroughly frustrated. I asked if he was in a call center in India and he said, "it does not matter where I am." I said, yes it does to me and please put me on with someone in the United States. He transferred me to the promotions department. A man from the UK answers, but he at least lives in the U.S. He was really cool, but couldn't help. He said the front desk of the hotel should be able to book the reservation, so he transfers me back tot the hotel. The lady answers and again, almost immediately says she is going to put me on hold again. I said "wait!" you are not going to transfer me back to India. She said I have to put you on hold and that is how we handle reservations. Then she put me on hold. If this experience is any indication of the treatment I can expect from all Comfort Inns, count me out. There are seven other hotels within a couple of blocks of this one. The "choice" execs in their infinite MBA stupidity convinced me not to spend my money with Comfort Inn. Save yourself the hassle and headache. Call one of the other hotels. read more
