I was told I needed root canals and crowns. The visit started off well but fell apart from there. The dentist stuck the needle through the edge of my tongue while administering anesthetic. During the teeth cleaning (unexpectedly add) he nicked my lip with the drill causing a sore to develop. The next visit went fairly well. This visit left my mouth very sore and bleeding. The temporary crowns they installed have very sharp and jagged edges that have caused cuts to my tongue and cheeks. After I get my permanent crowns installed I will be hunting for new dental care. Edit: BEWARE, these "doctors" can't even fill a cavity properly. I went to a five star doctor for a second opinion and was told how many ways my teeth were messed up by other doctors ect. She said that she can't give us the information in my chart because it has to be approved by the doctor's first. She would not release the charts to me or my husband. They somehow was able to delete my last post so I'll post again . I went to this place 4 times after spending 16k because one of my root canals still has feeling when it comes too hot and cold food and drinks . If you look in the picture , you can see how my alignment of my teeth are far off and the cut of the open face crowns are not the same as they said they would. One of the open face crowns is thicker than the other . Every single time one or the crowns came in, they had to file it down because the crown came in too big. The first time I came in and told them about the sensitivity to my tooth after the root canal, they told me "it's because it's gold metal" but it's only in the tooth that had one of the root canals and after root canals you're not suppose to have any feeling at all so that can't be it. Then dr jolstad decided to file my tooth down a year later because he thought it was scrapping against the other while sleeping or eating , that still wasn't the problem and he didn't fix the solution. So now they're telling me there's no problem and if I want I can pay another $1000 for another root canal because they messed up somewhere , Debbie was awfully rude about it . Where I messed up from the beginning is I should've noticed they only had 2 stars , I looked up the reviews after they decided to not fix their problem they created , I will not stop until they fix what they created or pay for my next root canal . A business cannot keep doing people like this . So I went in for a deep clean and two fillings I am very terrified of dental work. I made that very clear Laura is the worst (I've included a photo of another review about her) she was rude with every word she said to me she got annoyed I couldn't open my mouth wider when my whole face was numb, so yeah I was having issues keeping my mouth open she snapped at me about that several times At one point she violently grabbed and turned my face towards her to work on me I was completely helpless After the horrific experience of the dental work was done I was grabbing my things She snapped at me again because I guess I wasn't moving fast enough (keep in mind my whole face was numb and was a little disoriented) She had me follow her to billing and pointed to sit down like I was some kind of child I told her I had already paid and she just rolled her eyes and said "I guess you can go" I understand we have bad days, but she without a doubt went out of her way to be cruel and make me uncomfortable and that's just unacceptable. In my 60+ years I have never had a worse dental experience all around. The staff refused to give a breakdown of the cost for a new patient. Never asked me if I needed x-rays, just did a full set of them. Their billing is not transparent and is inaccurate, saying they did a comprehensive periodontal evaluation when there was no attention to my gums. They also coded xrays in such a way that they were not covered by my insurance, despite that they are a PPO with my insurance. They also credited my deductible in a way that was less favorable to get maximum insurance coverage. Finally, the cleaning was horrible. After I left I could feel several areas where the plaque had not been removed. I regret having wasted time, money, energy at this unprofessional dental factory. read more

I know I'm difficult to work on but they make sure I don't ever have a bad experience. I've had 3 separate root canals all done by Dr. Robbin's along with 11 crowns/Veneers. The work looks amazing. I used to work here and it was the single worst job I have ever had. The doctors, front desk staff, and assistants are all severely prejudiced in some way (homophobic, racist, transphobic, sexist, you name it and they've got it). If you are not white or if you are LGBTQ+, stay far away, because you will be the butt of many jokes and the doctors/staff will disrespect you behind your back. They do not allow their staff to eat in front of patients but they also do not hire enough staff to provide breaks, so I would regularly go without eating for 12+ hours. I was severely ill many times and was required to come in to work because no one else could cover for me. If you had the misfortune of coming here and wanting to leave, they will charge you $20 to email records to another office, which is illegal unless you are asking for a disc. They also still use paper files as their main patient records. During COVID, both doctors and staff lied about their own vaccination status to patients (yep, read that again). They had an assistant come in who had COVID and he worked on many patients, and was unmasked around other staff, and the doctors did not inform the other staff that they were exposed. They would not wear masks unless required to, and I heard assistants talking about how they didn't believe in vaccines and the COVID measures, even the ones actively in school at that time. Bottom line, these doctors do not care about their patients, they care about lining their pockets and getting paid. If you are thinking of working here, or getting dental work done here, STOP. You will regret it eventually. I'm lucky that I found a job somewhere that actually cares about me and they were horrified at the stories I would tell about this place. read more

I'm so sad to leave such a bad review. But please don't go here. I have never in my life had a worse experience at a dentist then today. Laura the dental assistant was simply terrible. She was not friendly, nor gentle. She gagged me multiple times and never got the hint. Dr. Mark J was super nice but he never came back over to check Laura's work which is concerning... my gums are black and my "temporary tooth" looks like it's about to fall out. Laura did mention they fall out easily. I've had these before and never had an issue. So I guess we will see. I was recommended to see Ellie Lui..... worst decision ever. If you have anxiety or a child do not see her! I suffer anxiety when it comes to dental care so my husband came with me along with our very well behaved 14month old son. The front desk was very sweet and told me I could have them back with me. When I went back the first thing I get told is "oh I hope they aren't stay back here for the whole visit," from the assistant. I get my scans and X-rays done and Dr. Lui comes in about my options. Her bed side was rude. Her first question was if I were to do the procedure would I have to have my support? The baby shouldn't be back here with all the noise and cleaning chemicals. Also if he starts to cry he is going to distract us from the procedure. It almost brought tears to my eyes when I compromised and said well at least for the numbing. She said ok then proceeded to tell me that the procedure is long and would take at least 1 hr. Then looked at my son and said what's the little ones bed time as if I have not already thought about that. So snapped back and said he is fine. She then told the assistant to go to get a price check then we will see if they will want to proceed. During my month of employment, I was consistently appalled by the poor communication and management practices. I was hired with being promised my working hours per week, however they claim to say they are "over staffed" and won't be able to offer more hours. Despite the claim of "over staffing," which resulted in the unjust reduction of my work hours, the practice paradoxically continued to hire new employees. Yesterday was my first and last visit to this dental office. I went for a check-up and cleaning, but was thoroughly disappointed with the experience. While the assistant (possibly Paula) was friendly, her lack of attention to hygiene protocols was alarming. She took my X-ray, put her hands in my mouth, handled the machine, and then touched the computer without changing her gloves or washing her hands. Dr. Mark J. performed the quickest cleaning I've ever had, lasting only 5 minutes. The same assistant then finished with flossing, still wearing the same gloves, which were visibly sweaty underneath. This is a clear result of not following proper hygiene procedures. I have a Dentegra reduced fee plan through United Healthcare. I was told to mention this when scheduling my appointment. Also on their website it mentions $19 for new patients for exam and x-rays. I've been here and have seen Dr. Jolstad quite a few times now. He's given me deep cleanings and fillings and I think he's great and takes excellent care of his patients. Also think his staff is so kind. Laura and Jimay were so nice and caring too. I'll keep going back. It's a no frills place which I like sometimes because they don't try to upsell you on everything, but they are still very thorough and professional. She's by far one of the best doctors I've had, and when I told her I was nervous and anxious she took time to explain everything. She genuinely made a root canal so much easier along with her assistant. I also told her I'm blind and she took the time to describe what was going to happen that others could see. If all staff at this office were like her, this would be a great office and I'd recommend it. As it is, I'm filing claims with the BBB, state dental board and other place for treatment by my actual dentist/his staff here, and I've been making sure people know to stay away. Now, the more frustrating stuff: Nobody has been very clear about pricing, work and everything else. I feel like I have to sit down and ask very pointed questions and draw out how much work is remaining. When I went in, it was for really bad tooth pain, but I said that I had just moved to the area and was looking for a permanent dentist. They quickly maxed my insurance, and told me that I had more work to be done which would max my insurance for 2024 pretty quick. This is scary to hear, and tough around the holidays on top of everything else. When I've mentioned this issue to other people, I've heard from numerous people that their dentist helped create a treatment plan along with estimates for the work. This would've made me feel better: I know what needs to happen, and I know how much roughly it will be. This is especially more important for me, because I am blind and can't see the pictures taken, so I need to ask questions. My doctor (Robbins) is always more worried about rolling off to the next person in the factory line so he can drill on their teeth. I've been in multiple times and paid for work for each time. The reception staff is generally less than friendly (especially now that I mention moving), and I've never been provided with most of the care and attention that most of my friends say they get from their dentists. This feels dishonest, rude, and like I'm being taken advantage of. It's like the car mechanic that keeps finding problems, and to know what needs to happen next I need to call in or figure out what my next visits should cover. This shouldn't be how dental work goes, especially when I'm a returning client paying out of pocket for costs and fees. When I received my first root canals, it was on two teeth. I was told afterword that I would need a crown ASAP. I asked about treatment and ended up paying $300 for a "build-up" which was to help prevent the teeth from having issues before the crown, but none of this was conveyed to me. Other reviews say that they charge $20 to send you your images. They are now trying to charge $25. It does appear that it is legal to charge a "reasonable" fee under healthcare laws. As I only requested they be emailed, this is the most expensive email that I've ever requested. I would've understood and agreed to a small $5-$10 fee, but $25 to attach a few images so that I can provide them to my next dentist is beyond absurd. Most people don't even make $25 an hour, and that's the cost to send me electronic data? I pushed back and got it waved, but it's just one more slap in the face on the way out, that they call a "data duplication fee." As costs for data are lowering, it's insane to me that costs for "data duplication" (which really just means attaching to emails) are going up. I've also never been able to get an actual useful estimation for costs when I try to book appointments. This is important because an office visit is charged, and I want to know what the max I might pay for service is based on their current knowledge of my treatments. When I called about a tooth I was having trouble with, I was told that it would cost $250-$1700, where $250 is the office visit fee, including imaging and etc. The extra would be the root canal itself. I asked why it was so expensive on the high end, and the receptionist quickly backtracked and told me that it would be only $1100 max, and that as an existing client, I would receive a discount which I had received with my prior operations. This wasn't the case, and while my cost was below $1700 it was also more than what the receptionist quoted me with the "existing patient" discount that nobody had ever mentioned before. I'm not sure if these people are dishonest or if they just have a dart board they throw darts at behind their desk, and where ever it lands is the price you get so they don't have to do the extra work. I guess if you can make $25 emailing pictures, you probably want to spend more time on that than actual work. Avoid this place. The specialist who did my root canals is amazing, but that's the best I can say. I hope that my insurance has something else in network because this is one of the worst experiences with medical I've had. read more

I'm so sad to have to write this review. This office clearly works with a high volume of clients, most of which are Medicaid recipients, myself included. I've never seen an office like this, where you're shuffled through a large room with at least 8 reasonably comfortable cubicles. Speed is the name of the game, I had X-rays, exam, cleaning, and 3 fillings in under 1.5hrs. My dentist was friendly and professional, and it wasn't until I came back for adjustments that I determined a 2 star review was merited. My fillings were high so my bite was off. Since I had both sides of my mouth numbed this was to expected. The real trouble happened when I had a dental assistant adjust my molars. The dental assistant (not my dentist) slowly ground down my left side #15 molar down to near nothingness. I cannot afford the best dental care, but I, not anyone else, certainly don't need to be a dental assistant's guinea pig. She did not seem comfortable with her tools, often slowing the tool to a halt on my tooth, giving a strange sensation. At one point she was polishing my lip with polishing paste. My bite is still off, but I think I'll just deal with it or pay more to go somewhere else. You certainly get what you pay for when it comes to dental work. If you must to go -- Please have your fillings adjusted by the dentist, not assistants. read more

I went to get my wisdom tooth extracted and they didn't even extract it instead offered me a 450$ cleaning, or do a "light" cleaning my Medicaid would cover and also asked if I still wanted nitrous a 75$ up charge just to do a filling, a filling!!!!! frankly it feels they were just trying to get into my pocket! I immediately ended the apt, they "referred" me to two oral surgeons and I still have to have A consultation and they wont send my perfectly just taken XRAYS over because they're privately owned so I have to set up two more apt just to have one tooth removed, absolutely terrible. Not to mention the 30 minutes I sat in a room waiting to be seen after they called me in to sit in the room with my X-RAYS. Extremely dissatisfeid. I felt I was taken advantage of as a new patient! I came in as a new patient, for the first appointment of the morning. I had to wait 20 min to be seen. After that, they took EIGHTEEN X-rays of my mouth - I am in my 30's and haven't had 18 x-rays of my mouth my entire life. The purpose of my visit was for a teeth cleaning. My last cleaning was 6 months prior, but they were insisting I needed a "Medium" clean. My insurance provider covers a basic cleaning for free, but the Dentist and Dental Hygenist inssisted (even pressured me) to get the "Medium" clean. This cleaning lasted 10 minutes (about the same time it took to get the x-rays) and consisted of a water/air brush and flossing. That was it! Then, the Dentist said he really wanted me to get several fillings as a precaustion, and again pressured me to get it done the same day. Overall, this was an awful experience and I will never go back again, nor do I recomened to anyone. Amazing experience- went in with extreme tooth pain coming from a broken molar. My dental hygienist comforted me and tried to put my mind at ease while waiting for the doctor to come in- we talked about the issue and he didn't go over any other options besides what I wanted to do, I've never experienced that before. He made sure to numb me as soon as possible so I could be relaxed for the extraction, which was quick and painless!! I've always been scared of the dentist. Not rationally, just somewhere hidden is a big fear of the audio aspect, that has always made me dread going to the dentist. Dr. Dinsmore, is quite literally the BEST dentist I've ever seen. He talked me through procedures, knowing I hadn't experienced them before. Took note of my allergies, which a lot of dentists have overlooked, & took the time to personally call me & check up on my pain levels, discomfort, & any potential concerns I might have, following a couple procedures. Even his assist, was detailed, informative, & overall very through and personable. I don't know if it's possible to "enjoy" a visit to the dentist, but the experience I've had in the care of Dr. Dinsmore and his staff, made me more relaxed & comfortable, than I have ever been at any doctors office. I called asking for a cleaning and they told me that it will be $20 for x-rays and an exam implying that would be the total cost including a cleaning. When I arrived they explained that it's 95 additional dollars for a cleaning. It looks like their business model is based volume of patients in to make up for the people this deception turns away. I had a wonderful experience here. I came in for a tooth emergency - I had completely broken one of my molars where I'd had a root canal done years back. I worked with Dr. David Dinsmore and while he couldn't make the procedure free, he was very helpful in assuring me there were options and that they were invested in helping me find them. They also happened to be having a slower day so Dr. Dinsmore went ahead and gave me a full cleaning and filled a few cavities to boot. They did a wonderful job at making a frustrating, expensive and scary experience one that was a little bit easier to navigate - and to get caught up on tooth maintenance with.
