My kiddo had been going to Sunrise since her very first visit and had really grown to love…read moreeverybody there. She looked forward to her appointments after years of building trust and familiarity and unfortunately, we have to start that process all over somewhere else in the middle of Covid. Covid has made it hard for everybody and sometimes the unexpected happens but this email is mildly heartbreaking if you're the ones on the chopping block. Just as it states, Their facility is so beautiful, the Dental team is amazing and caring, and they take the latest and greatest approach to pediatric dentistry. All of that is true and if you're not one of the Medicaid patients you'll continue to receive nothing but the very best. That commitment to treat and care for every patient as she would her own child is just going to be for non-medicaid patients. If you can afford to bring your child here then do because they are wonderful. If I could afford to pay out of pocket I would in a heartbeat. I'd have loved to keep my little one here but this email is so unfortunate. It was not written with the thought of how excluded this would make Medicaid families feel. Yes, we are a low-income family but we are every bit as deserving of the amazing care Sunrise describes in this email and will provide to non-Medicaid families. There was a much better way to word this and go about this change in general and that's what's really disappointing. I told my daughter that Dr. Crespi stopped being a dentist altogether rather than explain that she's just not going to be her dentist anymore and she was still upset. Hopefully, we'll be able to find somewhere just as wonderful for low-income families.

I found Dr. Carlson-Marks by accident while searching for a second opinion after our previous…read moredentist told us my son needed $2800 in dental work for his BABY TEETH!!! We visited Children's Dentistry of Cherry Creek for that second opinion and were so impressed by EVERYTHING about the office that we returned to our original dentist. There are so many reasons why they are the best pediatric dentist office in Denver - hands down, but here are just a few... 1) The Staff - Every person in that office from the receptionist to the dental assistants to Dr Carlson-Marks herself are kind, helpful and SO GREAT TO THE KIDS as well as the parents. Instead of flashing fake smiles and then seeming mildly irritated by the kids and their parents, the staff here are genuine and engage with your children with kindness, interest and respect. Obviously kids don't love everything that happens to them at the dentist, but instead of just putting a Netflix screen in front of them so that the staff can pretend your kids don't exist, the staff here engage with the kids, get feedback, and help the kids to get through whatever needs to be done with genuine care and consideration. 2) Their Methods - There is an emphasis on prevention here, not on getting you to shell out huge amounts of cash to fix cavities that are just going to keep occurring because the root cause was never addressed. The first thing that happens every time my kids are called back for their appointments here is that they brush their teeth for the dental assistant and are then given tips on what they can do better. Our previous dentist, who charged more than double the price of this office for routine exams, never once in the 3-4 check ups my boys had there ever showed my boys how to properly brush their teeth. 3) Conservative Approach - Dr. Carlson-Marks is perfectly happy to try the wait-and-see approach rather than rushing into drastic procedures for teeth that are going to naturally fall out in the next few years anyway. She's still thorough and will advise when action genuinely needs to be taken, but when she does you can be sure her recommendation is based on what your child needs and not how much money the office will make. 4) Honest and Fair - You won't be charged massive amounts of money when you have to pop in because your kid's tooth is aching or was chipped. If you aren't receiving lengthy treatments, they don't bill you heaps of money just for stopping by the office. And in general, their prices are so reasonable that I almost feel guilty paying so little for such phenomenal care. 5) Appointments and Wait Time - It isn't impossible to get in when dental emergencies strike, and you usually won't be waiting in the lobby an hour after your appointment time. 6) Flexible and Holistic - Whatever your angle (traditional or more conservative/natural approach), they will accommodate you, offer options that work for you, and treat you with respect. I am so happy I found this office and you will be too.

I made that very clear Laura is the worst (I've included a photo of another review about her) she was rude with every word she said to me she got annoyed I couldn't open my mouth wider when my whole face was numb, so yeah I was having issues keeping my mouth open she snapped at me about that several times At one point she violently grabbed and turned my face towards her to work on me I was completely helpless After the horrific experience of the dental work was done I was grabbing my things She snapped at me again because I guess I wasn't moving fast enough (keep in mind my whole face was numb and was a little disoriented) She had me follow her to billing and pointed to sit down like I was some kind of child I told her I had already paid and she just rolled her eyes and said "I guess you can go" I understand we have bad days, but she without a doubt went out of her way to be cruel and make me uncomfortable and that's just unacceptable. She should be fired. Also my deep clean was done inadequately:( They charged me over $1000 dollars for hardly an hours worth of work I'm sorry but there's no way they did all the work that needed to be done in a hour

The waiting room is super kid-friendly with toys, books, and things to climb on. The hygienist who took us back to get started was so kind and patient. They have a little sink station where they first have your child brush their teeth, and then they get to keep their new toothbrush. Once in the dental chair, she introduced our daughter to all of the tools in a way that was super fun and NOT scary. We truly thought that there would be no way our daughter would let them do anything in her mouth, and then the next thing we knew they were singing songs and cleaning her teeth. Dr. Lisa Carlson-Marks is the dentist we saw on this visit, and she was also so kind and had a very fun way of looking at our daughter's mouth / teeth. They spent so much time talking to us, and we had tons of questions and never felt rushed. Only days after this appointment, our daughter fell and bit a chunk out of the inside of her lip. We called the office on a Saturday (as they had told us we could do in an emergency), and the on call dentist had us text her a picture of the injury. She called back immediately after reviewing the image and assured us we were OK to let it heal on its own. I was so grateful to already have a dentist that we could call and to have one we can trust moving forward. This place is the best!

Right away I could tell that these people care about children and know how to best serve them. My 14 year old has always had excellent teeth and never had any issues, but my 2 year old had never been to the dentist before and I was afraid that he would be scared (like mommy) or it would be a traumatic for him. Dr Dave was wonderful! We were allowed to come back and watch big sisters cleaning so that he wasn't afraid to come back himself. When it was his turn, Dr Dave made it fun and easy to check out his teeth and afterward he got to pick out a toy! I am so happy that I found this gem, now maybe my children won't live with the fear of the dentist that I have.
