I spoke with 4 different representatives of Roberts Home Medical Equipment yesterday throughout the day beginning at 10:00 am - 8:30 pm. Everyone of them told me the same thing, that they were sending an email to dispatch and I should hear back from them shortly. During the 3rd call at 4:30pm the representative told me that  dispatch informed them the driver should be arriving in one hour. By 8:30 pm we still haven't heard from the driver. I call once again, fumingly mad ass hell. I am normally a very  patience and calm person. For me to swear and become this upset is out of character. I explained to the after hours representative that my father has been using the portable oxygen tanks all day and those have been running out. Clearly he wouldn't have enough to make it through the night. I informed them that if something medically wrong  happened to my father due to the negligence of their work ethic I would be placing the blame on them.   After waiting for another 2 1/2 hours we receive a phone call from the driver saying they will be arriving at midnight with the delivery. I understand that inconveniences happen in life, but if your running a professional medical company and can't have the simplicity to perform the task of responsibility to the fullest then find another profession and close your business doors. I am currently recovering from surgery so getting around is a bit difficult right now. This pharmacy is conveniently located on the first floor of the Johns Hopkins medical facility in White Marsh. In addition to having medical prescriptions and assistive devices, they also have a decent assortment of snacks and beverages. While they staff couldn't help me with what I needed, they still gave me their undivided attention and provided excellent customer service!

There was minimal price markup between Drug City and if we were to buy direct from a NYC distillery we really like. I really enjoyed my chicken dumpling daily soup special at the soda fountain, but the star of the show was my chocolate peanut butter milkshake. The food in there is simple lunch fare but you cannot beat the prices. they have a long list of seasonings you can add to your potato chips that I want to come back and try more of. Note that purchases from anywhere in the store (not just the liquor section) count towards their rewards program.

I rented mine directly from the shop on Edsall Rd., but if you plan ahead, they will deliver the scooter to you and they offer a 24/7 service to help with issues that arise. I did not have any issues, so I cannot directly confirm how that works. My family decided at the last minute that one of our adults would be better off with a mobility scooter because her health issues make any walking tour a strain. The first place I called did not answer and wanted me to leave a message. I didn't have time to wait around for a callback, so I kept trying. I feel so lucky that the second call I made was to JK Medical Supplies! They were so helpful and so nice and knowledgeable. They even gave us ideas about activities in the area that we could do. The scooter they rented to us is a Vive 3-wheel. They made sure that it was the right size for our needs and gave us a demo of how to operate and transport the scooter. The scooter was in excellent condition and it worked well for us. In addition to concrete scootering, we took it on a day hike trail in the Shenandoah Valley. We checked with the visitor center for scooter-friendly hikes. The trails there are smooth enough, but we had to turn around when we got to the uneven rocky area with the obvious horse (ahem) trail. As far as the scooter itself, I would say the 3-wheel is excellent for touring in D.C. and flat, civilized areas, but if you want more adventure with the rocks and the horses, you'll definitely want to ask them for a more rugged 4-wheel with higher clearance and more lateral stability. I spent some time talking to them about their business and they claim that they are often called by a hotel concierge to remedy a delivery issue from less reliable rental companies (I thought about that company that didn't even answer the phone). They sound very dedicated to customer service. I did not need anything above and beyond, like middle-of-the-night service or delivery, but I did see firsthand how customer-friendly they are. It is very hard to find good customer service, but JK Medical shines in that regard. They also claim to personally research each product the sell/rent. They have a lot more than scooters. Our family member had a big smile on her face and laughed at being able to leave the rest of us in the dust, for once. It was a big contrast to what we usually deal with: a grumpy, droopy, sad face. Thank you JK Medical for making our visit to Virginia and D.C. a lot less strenuous and a lot more fun for our family!
