The rudest bank teller in the world told me they needed 5 business days notice to cash the check. I asked if the check was drawn on the bank, if the check was good, and what was the bank going to do for me. I was told in no uncertain terms that Fifth Third was DOING NOTHING FOR ME and that I could like it or lump it! How is this bank still in business? My parents got scammed by my older brother. My other siblings and I went to Chase, we showed them…read moreproof of the scam - checks where my father's name was signed, but it was clearly NOT his signature, a teller who stated that my brother's daughter had brought my father in to withdraw money and he seemed confused. Everyone in the Chase office in Brighton, Michigan agreed that this was illegal behavior and my parents had been victims of elder abuse. We literally spent hours for several days in a row at this branch and finally we were assigned someone at Corporate. This woman promised me that my parents would get their money back and that action would be taken. She gave me her "direct line" for immediate assistance. You know what? It ended there. When Chase stopped speaking to us, I tried calling this "direct line" and got voice mail every time. I left more than 10 messages. My mother passed away during this time and my father was devastated. We could no longer focus on Chase. We dealt with the grief and then did what we could to financially support my father. That was in August of 2013. We are now coming on the 10 year anniversary of my mother's death. (My father died in 2020). We never heard back from Chase. HOW VERY VERY SAD. Elderly people abused and Chase nowhere to be seen even though they too agreed about what happened and promised to get back some of the more than $60,000 my parents lost.

I tried to start a bank account to launch my business with a PO Box as my business address. Initially that was fine, a week later they wouldn't allow that, insisting I using my personal address. So I got another address by renting a mailbox with occasional office use. That wouldn't satisfy them either. Again local people were cordial, but coudn't help me because of very restrictive remote (Texas?) policies. Almost three months later I'm still hassled by ongoing hurdles of closing that bank account.

I woke up at 845am so I could be the first to call when headquarters opened at 9am. Basically long story short, they are not crediting me my $215 and I have to wait 10 business days to see if I even get MY money! I spoke with a supervisor and then a manager and no one was of any sort of help to me. The only positive note is a very nice woman at the Howell location who was advocating for me to get my money to the customer service workers. I WILL be closing my account once the dispute is settled. I have banked with Lake Trust for over 5 years and this is the most absurd thing.

Went into the Brighton branch to change my name to my married name. One of my accounts has my mom…read moreas a cosigner. They require both parties to be there but my mom had a massive stroke and is in a rehab facility with no use of her left side and can't sign anything. I have POA for her, which includes financial transactions. When the employee who was helping me went to ask the person who I am assuming is the branch manager, but don't know because she never came out of her corner, she told him that having POA doesn't give me the ability to sign for her. I don't know how she decided that because she couldn't be bothered to look at the legal POA papers I had or even ask if I had them. I was told I had to contact a customer service line and they would send her the paperwork. Since they only require one account holder to close the account, I have already started the process of stopping direct deposits so the accounts can be closed. I hope the next person who comes in dealing with a family emergency is treated better than I was. I also recommend someone take a closer look at the reviews about this branch manager and have a discussion about her customer service & attitude.

The first time I visited after opening my account, I didn't know how to fill out deposit slips and was also in the process of trying to get a vehicle that day. When I asked for help, the staff acted like they didn't care and made no real effort to assist. Since then, whenever I've deposited cash, the workers' attitudes have been dismissive and unprofessional. Most recently, I had an issue with a check not going through at the ATM. I went inside to figure it out and was immediately told I needed a renewal check--without the employee even looking at it. Today I found out that the check was fine, which means I wasted another trip to the bank because of their lack of effort. Overall, my experiences here have been frustrating and disappointing. I can't wait to switch back to Lake Trust once I move back.
