These are the teams that performed the night we went. Group consensus: Land Mermaids!

My boyfriend and I were looking for something a little different to do on a Sat night for a date. We were going out w my parents so we were trying to find something that would entertain across the generation. That's how we found ComedyWorx. We decided to go to the later show (at 10pm) because it was a few dollars cheaper than the 8 pm show. Little did we know, if we went to the earlier show, we could have stayed for the later show free! It's located off Hillsborough St but parking is not an issue. There is a parking lot/ garage for the building it's in. We got there early and were able to walk around. we enjoyed some icecream at Ben and Jerry's and found a little card trading shop that I will be checking out later today( it was closed last night) because my kids love football cards! It was seat yourself style inside the comedy club. We sat in the middle to the right. The only complaint I have about my seat was at times the talking behind the curtain( which separated the room from the front lobby)was a little loud and distracting. The groups that performed were funny enough. Some of it was not my type of humor, but I appreciate the talent and skill that improve requires. I felt that people were "planted " in the audience to offer ideas/support. One of the times during an audience question my mom yelled out an idea, first and loudest, but then they went with an idea from the back corner and said .. I heard ______ first. But no real proof of this, just a gut feeling. Overall, it was an ok evening that was different than your usual date night type of thing. I wouldn't mind checking out the earlier show once and see what the difference is between the two. If your looking for a change, check it out but perhaps pay the 3 extra bucks in order to check out both shows. They do offer concessions which include alcohol options but we did not purchase any so I'm not sure what exactly is offered or what the prices are.

We visited on Valentines Day to take advantage of a VD special. For $40 total, We had our own table up front, 2 drinks (yes there are beers at the concession stand), popcorn, chocolates and a long stem rose. This is not a stand up comedy club. It is an Improv Show with teams of creative spontaneous comedians, skilled actors, impersonators and entertainers rolled into one. The friendly games of competition are explained by a referee/master of ceremonies/game show host with "Lady Voice" helping out. The shows before 10pm are family friendly, but this doesn't mean they aren't LOL funny. Plenty of audience participation is encouraged. Parking and locating the show were easy enough. The location makes it easy to combine dinner, drinks and comedy all in the same venue (a rehabilitated Bunny Bread Bakery). I had a little difficulty making a reservation online, their square was down, but a phone call to someone very helpful. Although she couldn't take my credit card either, I just made a reservation and paid at the door. I'm so glad I persevered because it made for a unique double-date for Valentines Day. It was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. They packed us in tightly, making it difficulty to get out to the concession stand or restrooms.

Was in town visiting family for the weekend. Stopped by here for the 4pm show on Saturday. It was a funny show, sort of similar to the improv show we had back at my university. I was kind of disappointed that the jokes were a little dumbed down to cater to the kids. I understand that there's a 10pm R-rated show, but still this could use a little boost. All in all it was good fun though. Reminded me of a college days since the various segments like Red vs Blue, starting with the same word, roleplay and other stuff are by the book. Go here for some friendly family fun Oh and the popcorn was epic

Every opening act was hilarious, and the main show kept the energy high the entire time. The service was just as solid. Food and drinks came out quickly, and the staff stayed on top of everything without ever feeling rushed. Raleigh Improv is hands-down one of the best comedy venues in the area. You don't feel squeezed in or packed like sardines. There's plenty of room to walk around, the seating feels comfortable, and the overall layout makes it easy to enjoy the show without bumping elbows with strangers. Even the bathrooms impressed me -- large, clean, and well-maintained, which is not something every venue can say. Quick tip: Go to the first show of the night. It saves you from waiting outside in a long line while the earlier crowd exits. Such a great experience. I'll definitely be back for more shows!

When we arrived for our 9:30 show, there were tons of parking spots available which was really nice not to have to keep circling the lot like we do for Goodnights. We also had a separate VIP line outside. It was very organized. The only difference between the two comedy clubs when it comes to seating is that your seats are not reserved specifically to your name and an employee points to which seats you will go to. We had awesome seats being that we were third in line! Middle table, on the end, perfect view. Quite a few people were uncomfortable being right on the stage and looking up, so they requested to move back. I did noticed this club can easily have bad seats being in the way back or off to the sides with obstructed viewing. The only way to be guaranteed great seats is to buy VIP and be one of the first people in line. Ordering is super easy and done with a QR code so you don't have to bother anyone around you to get service. The beer was nice and cold but I will say I don't recommend the guacamole and chips...it has corn and beans in it and it just tasted off. The staff are all amazing here, respectful, kind, and quick. They even pick up your dishes throughout the show. It can be a bit disruptive being at the end table but it's not to the point where it's annoying. I appreciate clean tables! Our show was hilarious and they allowed people to meet TJ Miller afterwards as long as you bought his hot sauce. We didn't line up for this, husband was unfortunately not interested (and to be fair, we do own over 20 bottles of hot sauce right now). Acoustics weren't super, audio definitely needs some fine tuning or an upgrade. Overall, I definitely prefer Improv to its predecessor and hope to come back again!

Detective Noel chewed the scenery with her soap opera one note delivery born out of community college summer acting programs or a month as an intern at summer stock. Someone tell her the pink hair trend is over and her forty-plus year old self should catch up. Why do they need a 23 minute preamble before the actual "show"begins? For 75$ why did they serve crappy Duncan Hines boxed cake? C'mon. The entree was ok, a saving grace, and the friends at my table were fun and understood how stupid it all was. If you need a particular brand of torture and a reminder of why "dinner theatre" is a lie and an affront to actual quality entertainment- have at it. But I warned you.

The manager/owner didn't care that there was an issue only gave a "how dare you call and complain" attitude, when all we wanted was a simple apology and confirmation that it would be fixed. This was supposed to be a fun dinner outing, but they ruined the evening!! We booked for a birthday dinner experience and checked in only to find out that they "miscounted" the seats and did not have a place for us to sit. SERIOUSLY, THIS IS A DINNER EXPERIENCE! How do you not have enough seats??? They had to bring out a separate table to seat us, which meant we would not get the FULL EXPERIENCE. There were no actors at the table, no QR codes, no clues under the chair. When speaking with the manager/owner on the phone, she was aggressive and rude. The manager claimed that it was a "human" mistake and that we had to have more "grace" while they fixed it. Then she said we should leave as we weren't the "right kind of people" because we didnt have enough grace. As customers we tried and wanted to have a fun experience and were so disappointed that we did not get that experience. To further complete the disastrous experience, the food was not as promised when we booked...the "chocolate mousse cake" was basic dry yellow cake with chocolate frosting. The host tried, but the whole experience was lacking. I would definitely not suggest this experience if you want to be entertained and have a decent meal because even with reservation you might not get a seat!
