Let's start out with their mission statement: "We provide sports leagues for adults looking to have great time, get out and meet new people, and relive those glory days out on the field. We are dedicated to not only providing a well run league, but also an experience and atmosphere that will leave you counting down the days till the next season." I will say that as an athlete, Comeback Sports has definitely given me something to look forward to during the week. Coming from an active background of always playing sports, it's been great getting back out on the field and being put into a fun and competitive environment. There are definitely times where there are a few serious/competitive teams/players out there, but that's something you can't really avoid. Everyone has some sort of competitive nature at times, and in my personal experience, I have met a lot of new and great people and have had a blast playing with both fun teams and competitive teams! Does being too competitive take away from the game itself? To some it may, but to others that competitive nature is what makes it fun. I've found myself making new friends and some enemies (I use this softly on the field, as I don't actually consider them an enemy). I started out joining with a couple of friends, building teams with friends and eventually captaining a team of my own. The journey has been full of fun and new experiences, so as far as their mission goes, I think they've nailed it. The staff at Comeback Sports are great. They've been easy to work with and are always helpful, which makes the experience that much better. I've always had a positive experience when dealing with their staff. There may be a couple refs/umps that are "just there" and let the power get to their head, but overall, most of the refs/umps are great on the field. The only negatives that I can think of are that there are a few of the super competitive folks who enjoy playing in even the lowest competition of leagues. I understand that there may be times where there may only be that option of playing on an easier league, but there are different leagues ranging from Novice to Hardcore, so there are the options available. There have definitely been times where I've seen teams get a little annoyed and just don't care anymore, when the purpose of being out there is to have a good time. There's not much you can do about this, but hopefully that point doesn't take away from you trying out a league. All in all, I encourage anyone looking to get active and have fun to try out a league. Yes, there will be serious people, but most people are fun and friendly. Who knows, you might even make a few new friends (or more) in the process! read more

My best friend and I saw an ad on Facebook about 4 years ago for a Tacoma kickball league for adults. WHAT? KICKBALL? Like back in elementary? Oh heck yeah. So we got some people from our church together and joined. We played kickball for a couple seasons, then put some soccer teams together and even a softball and volleyball teams. Acting on that one ad has created an opportunity to meet some truly amazing people and make some of the best friends that a person could ask for. The office staff at Comeback Sports are dedicated to making their league as much about the experience as possible. Sure, we play sports, but it's so much more than that. Bar sponsors, special events, Facebook contests and theme nights... it's about the experience! The staff tries to accommodate scheduling needs as best as they can. I've played in city/county softball leagues and even tournaments at the E/Rec, E and D levels and even an occasional C tournament as a sub. I'll never go back to those as long as Comeback Sports is around. They try to split teams into Novice and Intermediate leagues, and sometimes even Hardcore. Most of their leagues are split up that way. I've tried every sport that they have to offer. Various formats of flag football (7 on 7, 8 on 8 blocking allowed, 5 on 5 coed), soccer (11 on 11 coed, 8 on 8 coed, plus others), volleyball (6 on 6 hardcourt and 4 on 4 sand), basketball, bowling, softball, kickball and dodgeball - I've literally played in all of their leagues. Needless to say... I'm a huge fan of what they provide to the adult sports community. One of the best things about Comeback Sports is that they offer "Individual" players an opportunity to sign up and play on a team when they otherwise wouldn't be able to play. Many of these teams end up sticking together in part or in whole and continue on in later seasons. Is the league perfect? No. Is it still awesome and worth playing in? Absolutely! Give it a try. Comeback Sports is a great place to meet friends, exercise, and play fairly competitive sports.I have played softball for three years(9 secessions)and love it. I'm a Captain for two softball teams and play on three softball teams spring through fall.I played in the All Star softball game in spring where we actually play at Cheney Stadium which is a treat. I have played Outdoor Soccer for about a 1.5 years. I played 4 secessions of Dodgeball, 1.5 years of Bowling, and Sand Volleyball . A great perk is they give you a free 50/50 comfortable T-shirt in the leagues you play. Needless to say, I have about 3 of their many colors, but there are great shirts.The Referees and umpires usually do a great job to make sports fun and safe, but they are human and make mistakes from time to time. Comeback Sports employees know me by name and If I ever have a problem or concern, a call to the office usually resolves any issues. A great thing to know is that a lot of comeback employees actually play in the leagues on their off time. Playing 7 v 7 fall soccer with Comeback Sports was a great introductory experience for our group of new teammates. If you are looking for an intermediate, not too competitive league, this is a great one. Most of the other teams were friendly and of a similar skill level, which made for fun, exciting games. Playing on a small field gave us the opportunity to learn how to play together as a team and improve as soccer players. My only complaint is that the refs were sometimes inattentive - some stood on the sidelines rather than on the field, they were talking to players on the sidelines rather than paying attention to the game, and the calls were not always fair or technically correct. I guess that's to be expected from a laid-back, relatively inexpensive league. Regardless, we still had a great time. I'd recommend Comeback's 7 v 7 soccer league. read more

Comeback Sports TACOMA!!! is great, i' have been doing it for a couple years now from Co-ed Flag football to Bowling(co-ed as well) and have had a blast. It's a great way to meet people, and it beats going to a bar and and wasting time talking to "Bro's & Hoes", this way you can just razz the people who mess up while playing instead of making fun of their funky fedora. :) It's fun, easy, and a great way to spend time while being active instead of sitting on your couch wondering why you own and are Re-Watching all seasons of Survivor. Sign up as an individual or grab your friends and make a team already! Dress up nights are fun at bowling, but goodluck beating -The Lickety Splits- in that department. Apparently Comeback attracts a lot of people named Tyler. But I too am a big fan. I never played sports, even as a kid, until I randomly decided to join a Dodgeball team last fall. The team was composed of all individual signups and none of us knew each other. Now, over a year and 7 seasons later, we're all still playing together. I've met some of the best people I know in Tacoma through these sports leagues. Everyone in Dodgeball is generally competitive (there have been some intense finals matches) but once the evening is over we can all sit down together and enjoy a beer. It makes for a good atmosphere to win and be competitive, but still enjoy each other's company and not hold grudges. read more

This was my first time putting a rec team together. We did a 7v7 league on a smaller field with smaller goals. The site was easy to use with great option to separate the payment. The Sunday same time, same place schedule was also great for our squad. The refs and competition were good for the most part. We definitely had some outliers though. One ref didn't seem to be too interested in doing his job, but I didn't see him late in the season and only had him one game. Also one time the other team didn't show up which was disappointing with no notice beforehand. Another time the other team only had 5 players, but we ended up loaning them some of our players. read more

Well I recently moved to Tacoma from Seattle and was lucky enough to come across a Comeback Sports Billboard as I was driving down 6th Ave. A billboard for a sports league?! I had to check it out. I started out in their kickball league and it was a blast. It is truly a social experience from the cool sideline entertainment to the bar deals after the game! I am now in 3 sports and can't wait for the spring season to start. The only con would be that they need to get the sumo wrestling suits back out at kickball that was so much fun. When I first found out about Comeback Sports I wasn't sure what I was getting in to....I was new to the Tacoma area and played in adult sports leagues (kickball and Softball) back in Georgia but didn't know if it be anything similar. Little did I know it be way BETTER! I've now played in 2 seasons of kickball, 1 dodgeball, and a softball Comeback Sports league and can honestly say its the best thing around! They go the extra mile to put on a great league and I've met some real good friends along the way. The perks you get from being in a Comeback Sports league are one of a kind. Love it! Have had a great experience in two seasons of 7 on 7 Flag Football with Comeback. The field we play at (Lake Washington HS) is top notch. The field is all turf and is very well lit. Our league has 16 teams in it. The competition is very strong. We have not had any "no shows" to date. All of our games have been played as scheduled. The "blocking" league is rare to find and we really enjoy this format. The blocking format has far less penalties and the flow/play of the game is much more realistic. We will continue to play in this league for years to come. Or at least as long as we can still physically cut it =) read more

Honestly, Comeback Sports in Tacoma is the best run sports league in the whole SeaTac area. I've been a part of others, both privately run and city run... no comparison. Comeback has good refs, good teams, good people, rookie & veteran leagues, some great options for sports, and not to mention the bars after the games... free appetizers or 2for1 pitchers with your team after kickball is the BEST! I'm surprised there aren't more reviews up here... must have just been added to yelp. But seriously, these leagues are really well run and are definitely on the rise. I captain a dodgeball team and have been with Comeback sports almost three seasons. The games are well-organized and I have met some really cool people through the leagues. The games are well-organized. Every now and then a ref needs to be reminded of the rules, but there are some refs that are spot on. Comeback sports really does provide a lot for each sport (I've participated in kickball, bowling, and dodgeball). All you have to do is show up and play. They take care of the rest. If you're thinking about league sports, but haven't played on a community team before, give it a try. read more

I have been playing soccer on teams with Comeback Sports for a couple of years now, both coed 8v8 and men's 11v11 premier and have found the experience to be quite good. The filed conditions are nice, scheduling and communications have been good too. On few occasions, I have found that the officiating has been inconsistent or questionable, but for the most part, good and reliable. The level of expertise of the players does vary from team to team and session to session, but typically lends itself to quality competition. read more

You will not find a better adult recreation company in the Pacific Northwest! I've called in many times to play in their leagues and haven't had any issues. They've always been accommodating to my teams time requests and even which field preference we might have. The sportsmanship can be lacking at times but, that's the adult sports business it seems. I've read the other reviews and could not disagree more, I've never had a problem with them and plan on keeping my team here for years to come. read more

I love the Comeback team. I have played dodgeball, softball and kickball and they were all a load of fun. The league has always done a wonderful job of managing all of the "behind-the-scenes" stuff. They have grown immensely since their inception but their growth has only allowed them to do what they do better. The staff, referees, etc. are professional and overall do a wonderful job. We've played dodgeball and softball with Comeback since 2010 and they've always been super accommodating to our scheduling needs and provided a ton of fun, from all star softball games in Cheney Stadium to Jose Cuervo beach volleyball tournaments. I'd highly recommend for people looking to play some of the more unique sports like dodgeball and kick ball, but would also recommend them over city leagues for softball and basketball. read more

We played in the other Seattle flag football league for 5 or 6 years. We decided to give Comeback a try last year and loved it. Lot more competitive with fewer of the rules that really made our old league really tough to enjoy at times. There are some really good teams and players in the league. Comeback Sports provides the most competitive Flag Football I've experienced. I tried other Flag Football leagues with great disappointment.
