We went for my son's baseball team for batting practice. Everyone was extremely knowledgeable, very friendly and we had the BEST time!

I have a 18-yr-old, severely Autistic son. He loves to swim. So when I was looking for a gym to…read morejoin with him, Lacey LA Fitness seemed like a good option. But what made me realize we were in the RIGHT place was the response to our needs! ALL the staff have been helpful and kind the entire 3 years we've been members. They helped me come up with appropriate ways to workout successfully and include my son. All their efforts have been documented and shared so that our needs are addressed respectfully AS WELL as the needs of other clients! Recently my son and I were enjoying a typical day in the pool when were were yelled at by another client. She was upset about the way we were using the Handicap restroom. I understood her concerns and tried to calmly discuss them with her. However, she was instantly elevated in her attitude and began screaming at my son and I. I am grateful that in his quiet world, he didn't even notice. In that chaotic moment, his symptoms were a blessing. However, I felt sad and frustrated as I watched my son enjoying himself. A few moments later, another client who I have become friendly with, came out to the pool to let me know that the confrontational woman continued to talk about my family and try to insight others in the locker room to her plight. My friend informed me that this woman was "waiting" for us to come back through the locker room so she could give me a "piece of her mind". My friend made me aware that she had let the front desk know what was going on. 2 minutes later, Gwen and Danny showed up at the pool! They asked how we were and shared their concern. They were kind, calm and transparent while being totally professional and understanding of all points of view represented. They asked if we felt comfortable and offered to help. Because of their care and concern, I was able to have my son walk through the men's restroom with another client with no stress. I was able to allow my son the right to enjoy the pool, with no stress to him and leave the gym feeling safe, protected and respected! There's NO better feeling! Thank you, everyone!

TWO (2) squat racks in a gym with well over 3k total members is absurd. Poor management and club planning. Sales are sales in the gym business, but take care of your members at least

Well.. the time has come for me to write this review for OTF West Olympia. In the previous years,…read moreI've written two lengthy, detailed reviews for OTF Downtown Bellevue, so for reviews on workout programs and membership info, please check out my other reviews or other reviews here. : ) This review is for the staff at OTF West Olympia, and what makes this location the best one yet in the Puget Sound. I have been to several OTFs locations in Puget Sound, and some in California and Texas. This location has a great balance between the front desk staff and the coaches, they work so well together. They're truly "OTF FamOly (otf family Olympia)." The entire culture here is extremely inviting and encouraging as how OTF should be (though I've not felt so much at other locations). Front desk staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and you can also see them working out in the studios sometimes. Coach Kylee, Jamie, Q, Megan, Dilllon are a solid team of coaches here at OTF West Olympia they all have different coaching techniques and background so I find it fun to try all of their workouts. To be honest, at other studios, I used to have favorite coaches... and some I did not enjoy as much. Here, that has never been a problem. Oh, and they all have great taste in workout music which is huuuuge! Another very important point I should mention is that OTF West Olympia's Facebook group and Instagram pages are managed extremely well. Other OTFs, not so much- you see very outdated social media pages and no postings from coaches. Lastly, they have done a fantastic job with their communication on Studio hours and program updates during pandemic. They consistently review and update studio times to fit our "WFH schedules" and managed to try 30-min, and 45-minute workouts for those who have busy WFH lives. This studio is only less than 2 years old and have already accomplished so much. I am so glad to have this studio so close to me.

Another day at the YMCA, and the hot tub is still not working. The entire Y was closed for repairs…read moreand refurbishing for three weeks. And six weeks later the hot tub failed, for unknown reasons?????? And it remained unknown for weeks. Finally it was determined the computer controlling the chemicals was not operating. Really. For sixty years chemicals were added by hand, and measured the results. But the staff cannot do that now? The weather turned really cold, and the hallway heater to the locker room failed. Oh well dash, and into the warm shower. Well so those run cold, and after weeks of complaint, it runs hot, but now only for 10 seconds with no pressure. I could hand pump water faster than pushing that little button every ten seconds. Half the soap dispensers do not dispense soap??? Now a new learning, double pumping water with the left hand, and soap with the right, while not pushing your self over. Oh well, a quick cold shower is invigorating and the showers are wide open. Better keep moving. The drain in the drying area has been clogged for two weeks. The standing water is great for spreading foot fungus, and there is no way around it, but the signs are there to warn you not to slip, on the now slimy floors. The Y does warn you to avoid liability, but when the hazard is not avoidable, one wonders if just unplugging the drain would have a better result. You and I don't have the time to discuss all the bungling. Time for management, whether it is new, or old.

Find out it cost over $100 to play basketball and when asked what size shirt they wear he was given a shirt way to big and when asked they responded with they didn't have any his size, so why ask what size shirt when you sign up, also no balls supplied for practice every player was asked to supply there own ball. Ymca has gone way down hill since I was coaching. Tried to reach out to sports program director and never can get ahold of them and never get calls returned. Ymca is a rip off stay away there are other programs that are lots better.

My larger concern is with a specific white front‑desk employee whose behavior was unprofessional and, based on his own comments, appeared biased. When my wife (Asian) and I (Hispanic) checked in, he was immediately rude and confrontational. He questioned whether we were together even after I confirmed it multiple times, then insisted on procedures that were completely different from what other employees at this same location required just two days earlier. When I asked why the process had suddenly changed, he responded with sarcasm and said he "wasn't there at the time," then added that the African American employee who checked us in previously "wasn't doing his job." Instead of simply explaining the policy, he escalated the situation, threatened to refuse us service, and gave the impression he might involve the police over something trivial. After our workout, we asked when the manager would be available. We were told to come back the next morning at 10 AM. When I did, I was informed the manager doesn't work weekends. At that point, it was hard not to feel misled. The one positive interaction was with an employee named Alex, who listened respectfully and left a note for the manager. Unfortunately, the overall experience was enough for us to cancel our membership and look for a better‑run gym.
