In fact, they had such a good time that some of them cried when it was time to go. From our side, it couldn't have gone better. Paramount took care of everything but the cake so we didn't have to worry about setup or clean up. Zach also cut the cake with a katana which was pretty cool.

My little was comfortable with her from the start! So I was sold. We, like most families are on a tight budget but my little needed something like Karate to grow, learn, and socialize with other littles. So I put it on my CC and set up payments. Now for the down slide... Not long after we joined we found out that the lease was up and that they would be moving. So we hung in there worried and awaiting to see where the new location would be. My husband and I had to request to leave work early from our employers to attend class (and were still late). He commutes from Lakewood to Lacey (in JBLM traffic) to preschool which was 2 minutes from where Paramount was, and I commute from Tumwater to Lacey to preschool. My point is with the new location at Black hills Gymnastics does not work for our family. Although it is not far our commute went from 1 minute to 15-25 one way. We specifically picked Paramount because of its location and 4:30 class. We don't have the luxury of changing our work schedules to accommodate this new location. We have never been able to make the 6 o'clock class due to our tight schedule. So, I read the contract and saw that it was with ASF and that I should contact them. So I did. They advised me that if I got a letter from Paramount stating that they moved and not us that we could get out of the contract. It was new belt week and I literally had knots in my stomach. I was terrified to talk to Lee. So my husband said he would talk to her. During their conversation Elizabeth was listening in and interrupted my husband. He said that she was pretty rude and disrespectful and stated absolutely not. We will not give you a letter or let you out of the contract. This baffles me... he came to our celebratory dinner for my little getting a new belt very upset. Needless to say the celebration wasn't all that it should have been. We signed up for the other location... we were not made aware that they would be moving and somehow now we have to pay for classes that we cannot attend?? I'm literally in tears. So my little will not get to attend Karate anywhere because we can't afford to pay two places and were barely able to pay one. I just want to make all the families aware that when you sign with them it's seems to be all about the $$$$ and not my little or family. I will be telling our story on Yelp with ASF and Paramount and any other site that will allow us to inform others of what feels like a scam.

This gym banned my husband, not me, with no notice or conversation…read more My husband and I attended west coast fitness for multiple years beginning in mid 2022. I loved the gym at first, built community there, frequented the small businesses within (estheticians), and I worked with a personal trainer there. A few months ago I would've left a glowing review about the gym. While there are areas needing improvement it was exactly what you'd expect at the price point. A few months ago my husband and I went to workout together as we always did. I paid for a membership with guest privileges for myself and he was my guest. He, like many others, was Olympic lifting. We had never been corrected before so had no idea about their new policy against Olympic lifting. The owner calmly asked my husband to not drop the weights. He was confused but agreed. After our workout he went to inquire about the dropping weights when he was using bumper plates, which were used by many in the gym for Olympic lifting. They had what appeared to all to be a cordial conversation about the new rule and all walked away with a new understanding. I did not think anything of the conversation. There were no raised voices or bad vibes at all. At a later time my husband inquired about the process of canceling my membership because I am beginning medical school out of state. The employee gave him the information and it all seemed fine. I think this is where the miscommunication possibly occurred. Next time I came in the gym alone and nearly completed my workout. I received a text on my phone asking me to go to the smoothie bar to speak with an employee. I was then informed that my membership had been terminated because "my partner did not like the Olympic lifting rule and requested to end the membership". I was shocked. I explained that was not the case and was confused how that was understood from the conversation. The employee didn't know what was going on and was very patient with me as I was upset and honestly so embarrassed by the situation. She promised to speak to the owner and call me back with more information. She came through and ultimately they said I could have my membership back but that the owner was not comfortable with my husband returning! I was so surprised. I tried to inquire about why or to see if he could return with me to no avail. It was just me or neither of us. To top it all off I did continue going to the gym as I only had a few months left and saw multiple people Olympic lift without correction. I had multiple friends at the gym who had their memberships terminated similarly without conversation or warning and were offered no explanation. I am grateful I was told why, even though it made no sense to me. Additionally, the gym markets itself as a gym supportive of the military community, but offers no monthly discount for military members like my husband. I caution you to consider this before getting a membership.

Since joining the gym I have been frustrated and disappointed with the cleanliness and aging…read moreequipment-especially in the cardio section. But I thought I'd give it a chance: I should've done my due diligence and aid more attention when signing up. Well, just like other comments I was hit with the maintenance fee. I was taken back since I am already frustrated with the lack of maintenance. When I called I got the " well you signed for it" comment. What a scam. Maintenance for what. Broken equipment regularly; dirty; 50% of the time towels not available to wipe down equipment.... Antique tanning equipment.... So I decided to eat the cancelation even though the club did not meet my expectations: from the start. With that being said it appears that not only do you pay a cancellation fee; but you have to pay another month's membership due to a 30 day notice policy. If your reading this- join at your own risk. If I new what I know now I wouldn't of made the mistake. In the meantime I am checking on the validity of there "contract" and fees. Somewhere in consumer protection there has to be a failed to deliver clause. No accountability WCF.
