CHARMING PLACE, LONG WAIT…read more
First of all, this place can be a little tricky to find. It's off of the walk street. See photos.
As you walk in, the kitchen is to your right. The place smells amazing. To your left are the stairs leading to the second floor. We were there for lunch and had made a reservation for 4 people.
We were the only guests in the joint. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken. Drinks were served and our lunch orders were taken. Collectively, we ordered 3 pizzas and a lasagna - nothing time-intensive. We were all so busy chatting, that we didn't notice that 30 minutes had gone by. Our server brought an appetizer - bread with olive tapenade and bread with tomato tapenade. They were delicious, but where was our lunch? After 50 minutes, the food arrived.
The pizzas, while edible, were unremarkable. The lasagna received high marks, though. 2 pizzas, 2 beers and a bottle of sparkling water was about $35.00.
The dining area itself is a nice space with high ceilings and lots of windows. The view to the street below is nice as is the view of the building across the alley. See photos.
It's not likely that I'll seek this place out for a pizza, but I wouldn't object if a group wanted to dine here. It's just meh.
