Instead they decide what they put and charge you 18 euros for a 12 cm diameter plate. The only thing making it two starts is the nice room. Unfortunately, though it is not heated enough, so going in winter should be done with thick pullover. Staff is friendly, but the Parfume cloud is too strong making you having to wait for a moment before eating.

The effort and attention to detail the chef, cooks, and owners put into their food, beer/wine list, and ambiance made this restaurant our favorite of our whole European trip. Hamont-Achel is a quirky town that has the feel of a town out of the American 60's, so walking into the restaurant and finding a modern and delicious Italian restaurant was quite a surprise. The place smells amazing. To your left are the stairs leading to the second floor. We were there for lunch and had made a reservation for 4 people. We were the only guests in the joint. We were seated promptly and our drink orders were taken. Drinks were served and our lunch orders were taken. Collectively, we ordered 3 pizzas and a lasagna - nothing time-intensive. We were all so busy chatting, that we didn't notice that 30 minutes had gone by. Our server brought an appetizer - bread with olive tapenade and bread with tomato tapenade. They were delicious, but where was our lunch? After 50 minutes, the food arrived. The pizzas, while edible, were unremarkable. The lasagna received high marks, though. 2 pizzas, 2 beers and a bottle of sparkling water was about $35.00. The dining area itself is a nice space with high ceilings and lots of windows. Usually you wait long even for your drinks because they don't have many waiters. Friendly staff that speaks mainly italian but understands Dutch. The oven is inside the front part of the restaurant so in the summer you can't seat there because it's so warm and in the winter you go home smelling like you were in the kitchen. They have a bigger sitting area at the back of the restaurant, ideal for groups and big families. Good for a casual dinner 'at the italian' but they have a lot to improve yet.
