I am 86 yrs old and asked the asst mgr Victoria with help print boarding passes. Victoria (asst mgr) refused to help me. At midnight we had to go downstairs for towels. They have a sign in the entry way that says if not satisfied they would compensate. Three hours before checking out Victoria said I am very busy and will call you. I am typically offered a couple of bottles of water and a snack. Not here. Otherwise; the woman working the desk seemed trained on the fundamentals. My last six (recent) Hampton/Hilton stays included a hot breakfast offering - but not this property. At 8:15-ish AM; coffee urns were all empty. No bananas. No muffins. No OJ. No waffles. Kids cereal and milk were available. Another guest mentioned bananas and muffins being available in the pantry, so I assumed if it was okay for them, it must be okay for me to retrieve a few errant items. Apparently, not okay. Staffer immediately closed the sliders to block the pantry then asked if there was something I needed. Um, yeah ... coffee, banana, Raisin Bran, OJ. He delivered everything but the OJ. The other guest that had encouraged my foray in to the pantry shrugged and apologized ... not his fault.

The room was so damp that the top sheet felt damp. i was never able to get the a/c on, the wall paper was falling off and the bathroom wall was starting to fall in and the bathtubs were rusting. We received an indoor room which connected to the small lobby. For the price of $93 I was disappointed in this motel. Very outdated and worn looking. The room was clean so that was good, but the drawers in the chest of drawers would not stay closed and would slide out and stay. The motel did not have very many used rooms, why would they put us in a room with drawers that don't close? The woman at the desk was polite but I kept having a hard time hearing her and missed exactly where our room was. Took forever to find it since there are two buildings. Then, neither of our keys worked and had to go down and get new ones. Spoke to some locals who stay at the hotel for work. I had the feeling that they do not pay anywhere close to $93 per night.

During our stay from the jump the room was dirty with signs of drug use there was baggies and a pop can with holes found a needle in medal rod where you hang your coat. How I found that was the window would not close so that bar was loose I got it to put behind the window so no one could come in there the window. I had to bring my own towels and toilet paper from my home. They said when they get some they would bring it they never so I got ours from the house around 10 pm the first night. Now when we checked out a few minutes ago they couldn't find my deposit lol and when they did finally find it they charged me $10 for a towel that was on the bars above the rod you hang your coat at. Granted it was destroyed but again it was there when I moved in along with food in the microwave and a mother's day balloon. Which I might add is still there I never did anything with those. I basically got called a lyer and for real there wifi is trash I played my ps4 off my cell phone data. I guess a fellow might need to make a donation of something there. Here's the cherry on top. I had to give them change for the $50 so they could give me $40 back. I wouldn't stay there if the owner called me and offered a month free. Get called a lyer was the breaking point. I enjoyed the tour and learning about her, how she found midwifery in America and all the wonderful things that she accomplished! She was truly a hero. The rooms were beautiful and well maintained. The staffs were warm and welcoming. The food was also delicious. I especially remember the spinach dip and the cobbler. Both were excellent and one of the best I've had. Overall, this place is a wonderful place to come and get away from it all. Come soak in the rich history, the beautiful view, fresh air and some awesome southern food.

But that's about where it stops. Usually, when I'm traveling for business, I try to get started working as soon as I can in the morning, so if a continental breakfast is available, it's a big seller for me. Maybe I've been spoiled by the Hampton Inns and Holiday Inn Express's continentals, but this was, hands down, the worst breakfast I've ever had (short of one in South Williamson, KY, but that's another review). Powdery eggs, stale biscuits, and not even any gravy (how do you eat biscuits without gravy!?!?! one can get their ass kicked around these parts for such an omission!). For the price I paid, I wouldn't stay here again. Government per-diem is about 75 a night, compared to the 100+ a night the general public pays. That's even worse!
