If you're after a cheap surf board, they have heaps, although if you're trying to scrape together…read moresome extra money, and decide to sell something, you're probably not going to get much for it. Unfortunately, that's how these pawn shops work. Happy hockers has been in Bondi Beach for as long as I can remember, so they must be doing something right. The people who are in there, are always pretty chilled, and relaxed surfies, who are happy to have a chat about what they have on offer. It ranges from musical instruments, to laptops, surf boards, to jewellery, and historical paraphernalia. Sometimes there's some bargains to be had, but if you're after cheap recycle clothes, try Vinnes down the road, as the money goes to charity.

This pawn shop has been in Bondi for as long as I can remember, it is a hub for tourists selling…read moretheir used surfboards at the end of Summer before they jet back off to their homelands and a place they can buy a second-hand lap-top for their stay here. Of course it is not only for tourists, if you need a bit of cash many locals come here to hand in unwanted stuff for a small cash reimbursement. They don't pay great, but they have to keep in business somehow. You'll find many odd bits and pieces in there; they have a pretty cool selection of bicycles and gadgets. Definitely worth a look if you want to save a bit of the 'ol paycheck. When it comes to selling, I think Happy Hockets is a bit outdated. Get better value for your pre-loved goods by selling them on the Internet. Websites like e-bay are great for that. It skips the middle-man who needs profit and you're reaching a far broader audience.
